i think you should stray from “how many frames is _____” type questions; they’re not especially interesting, and all you have to do is look through the guidebook to figure it out, as opposed to actually thinking
i’d think outside the box more. draw trivia from sources outside of the guidebook, or at least stuff that isn’t directly numbers-related. for example, “which characters can combo off of a throw?”
working it through in your head, you quickly deduce the obvious characters first:
then, you remember certain chars can juggle a CC off of their throws:
then if you really think outside the box, you remember that some chars can combo off of their throw when rolento knife super is involved
… and so on
in the end, it’s your trivia thread, do whatever you want in it. just giving my two cents
also, the book is wrong on the throw distance for several characters. i posted somewhere which characters have equally short throw range as hibiki and yun

Buk, I think you’re the only one who can come up with questions like that easily, or at least in a timely manner. I actually already thought about who can combo off of throws, how many characters have specials/supers that leave you in a juggleable state, who can’t CC off of throws and who has the most damaging supers/combos/cc’s etc. The thing is, I’m not able to get near a training mode at work where I make these and I only have about 1/2 to 3/4’s of a year experience in this game. I’m pretty sure the knowledge you’ve compiled spans at least 5+ years.
If I were to attempt to figure out who could combo off throws for example, I would miss Athena for sure. I would of missed 3/4’s of what you listed for CCing off of throws and I definitely would not be able to figure out which characters have the shortest throw ranges even though I think I know how to test I think (52 pixel throws are based off a c.lp and then a throw attempt correct?).

Not directly related to the question but in training mode you can go off the screen with C-Kim: lvl 2 Rush Super xx [lvl 2 Air Super]xn. Not doable in a real match but it looks cool.

It’s kind of weird talking about throw supers grid because most have invincibility beyond their active frames but the active frames are usually extremely short. This means that you’re basically either landing the super or going to get pegged in recovery. Yamazaki, Gief, Honda, Raiden, etc all have the same general type of super where u have the normal invincibility frames (full body for usually around ~23 frames) for the startup and active frames and then you go into recovery frames which have a few invulnerability frames and then none.
With iori however, he has full upper body invincibility for a huge amount of frames and a ton of active frames to hit you with meaning he can blow through lots of different specials and hit you at any time while you’re falling from a jump.
Checked up on rugal, he does indeed have a 1500 sweep like Sagat and Chang. Nice catch fsgamer.
Kaiser wave is no where near the worst projectile in the game. It is very hard to JD due to delayed timing and hits for multiple times when charged. It also controls space like nuts. Haoh’s projectile is (27/55) while Rugal’s reppuken is only 15/40 (on all versions). I’m not even going to get into the whole controlling space issue cause it’s not even worth discussing.
I’ll try to post the answers tomorrow but i’m pretty sure questions marked as 6/5 in difficulty are nearly impossible to answer due to player creativity.
And special cancels in this game are definitely quite game breaking, especially with the faster charging p-groove. A ton of characters have extremely easy to land normals that are STUPIDLY simple to hit confirm. It’d just be a joke really. Rising tackle, hurricane kicks, king’s kick u in the face 1000 times special, ryo’s punch you in the face a billion times special, every punch or kick mashable special (dynamite punches, hand slaps, lightning kicks). Plus, the juggle ability of a lot of specials/supers would have to be looked at again because the possibilities of extremely easy to land specials would be mind-boggling.
Yama’s grab super (lvl 2/3) is fully invincible during start-up, active, and some of its recovery frames, so technically your answer isn’t correct, but it’s a great super indeed.
One of the most interesting uses for Iori’s super is to go through fireballs (that are not ground fireballs, that is).
in addition to super cancels, agroove can cancel connected/whiffed jumping attacks into CC. maybe not gamebreaking, but it definitely doesn’t need to be there
doing mp dps causes it to break guard faster because the individual hits do more damage
technically, any character can as long as they knock the other character down with their feet in the corner (dp’ing a cross up, etc.)
characters like hibiki and rock aren’t using the 2p cross up glitch; they can do it on the 1p side also
wayyyy too many list. i’d say about 75% of the cast can do this. some interesting ones:
morrigan: trade dp -> air darkness illusion
bison: rh scissor kick -> mega psycho crusher
sagat: trade dp -> tiger raid
there’s probably a lot more than two. dan, athena, kyosuke, chunli… i bet if you tried hard enough you could make it happen with nakoruru too

Just back from Taiwan where there’s absolutely no arcades worth going to. Haven’t really given CvS2 much thought since I’ve been away from it for such a long time, but I’m going to come up with some basic trivia for people who are bored to play with.
Don’t have any insightful questions atm so I’m going to just put up a list of specials/supers that people hardly use or have forgotten in hopes that somebody can guess a) who has it b) what’s the special do. Got some time, take a guess.
Most of these specials/supers come from mid-tier and low tiers. Half the list I’ve never even heard of until today and the others have just fallen out of my memory until this post.
edit: Some of the translations on specials are just hilarious. Todo’s waves are ecstasy crush as an example. Comet cruncher is another good one.
Shout of Earth - blanka: stands up and goes electric, pretty crappy
Valkyrie Turn - Morrigan: does that stupid fly off the screen and goes invul, then if you press kick she will attack
