WTF?! youre thinking in P Sak too :D… I dunno what to do with my P team now, the only char that never fails is Cammy
i use p sak… shes pretty good… parry while jumping in, roundhouse, land, roundhouse xx dp+hp owns youuu
seriously, shes good… i mean parry into jabs or c.lks… what do u need more?
what makes cammy so good in P-groove? i read awhile back that ino thinks P-cammy is the 3rd best character in the game, but i don’t understand why. makoto puts her as his r2 anchor, so i guess he thinks highly of her also. any input?
and coco savage, i was under the impression that the sagat vs cammy match is pretty even with a slight advantage to sagat. just zone with standing lk (stuffs random spiral arrows also) and throw well-placed low tigers. i just used the tips in buk’s thread awhile back and it worked pretty well.
peace
Her dash is good, she makes good use of parry. HUGE threat when sitting on a level 3, good with low jump, parry only greatly improves her extremely strong ground game. etc.
ya i always have the hardest time with sagat,it’s just too uncomfortable,p-sak sucks ,play p-yama
I dunno about 3rd best character. However, she is up there in the tiers. I’d say she’s probably 5th or 6th. And this is coming from a die-hard Cammy player.
By putting her as an anchor, there’s always a threat of a parry into super when it’s available. Also, if you parry anything with Cammy, it’s mostly going to be a S.HP, S.HK, or a C.MK. And guess what, those are all super cancellable! All the sudden a turtling Cammy gets very dangerous because of the ability to sit on meter unlike K-Cammy.
Oh, and out of all the Cammys, she has the best chance of putting up a good fight against Sagats who whore on S.LK and C.HP. Also say good bye to block strings ending with fireballs since you can parry > S.HK that shit because of it’s far reach. She also has crazy dash mixups after a Sprial Arrow. Option select also becomes your best friend because you can parry, get a hit with S.HP/S.HK, and tech a throw all at the same time.
Overall, P-Cammy is the best out of the others IMO with K-Cammy not too far behind.
Hmm i dunno what to talk about first so i’ll so sorta random.
P Sak is actually pretty good but please use her first. Her supers dont do enough IMO. Her specials and poke game with HK will build meter pretty decently. Her low jump game is pretty decent since you can link the low jump HK into stuff for pressure strings. She’s just a really strong character with a lot of her basics covered. David pointed out some of her qualities in another thread so if you guys search maybe you’ll find it.
Hmm i think i already posetd why cammy is hella good in p. Maybe not. Ive had this talk with so many people I feel everybody has heard it. P cammy is really good from scrub level to advanced. Thats what makes her the best p character compared to the others. She has speed, priority, and big damage. Hella few bad match ups that parrying cant get around. I cant think of one besides sagat. Her HP has a really long delay in time that it can be linked. You can literally just take your time and super fools after it hits. She’s good in wide range of situations and skill level.
P sagat is kinda hard to use. P is his worst groove for mobility and sagat has pretty bad mobility anyway. Still i feel that there’s no overwhelmingly bad match ups for p sagat if you yourself are skilled and have a plan. Your own plan is a big deal when it comes to games yet it seems to be overlooked a lot in cvs2. Eveybody talks about how much this character sucks compared to others in other grooves and im starting to feel its a lil out of hand. Some people think sak is only good in A, which is untrue. People think kyo sucks without low jump which is untrue, etc. Sagats only prob in p is his mobility and even that can be handled depending on what your plan is. BTW a-sakura is annoying but not overwhelming for p sagat.
I have a question… I dont think its been asked.
when I parry multi hitting moves, will there be cases where I should finish parrying the whole move, and coutner attack on recovery, or should I try knocking them out.
three examples that come to mind: vega(claw) roll, sak hadoken, sak hurricane kick.
I like C Sak alot, Flashy lv2 cancels, and still has RC, adn is a great battery. My Team is C Sak, Chun/Rolento/Ken, Sagat
For most moves you HAVE to finish parrying everything. But it’s probably a better idea of you block after the first parry. I’m pretty sure that Vega’s roll claw will beat or trade anything you stick out. As for Sakura’s fireball, you’ll always lose to it since the invincibility will last by the second hit of it. Parrying the the first hit of Sakura’s hurricane kick and punishing it with a Red Impact with Vega is my specialty.
RC invincibilty wears out when the rc’d move comes into contact with opponent - regardless of however many invincibility frames are left. That means once it hits you, you block it, parry it, or just defend it, it’s wore off. If sakura’s fireball still hits you after you parry the first hit its more than likely a priority thing. Ken/Ryu will be able to uppercut her immediately after the first parry.
Stop lying S4v, you liar!
he’s right tho. I tested parrying all my examples rc’d. and in each of em, I could knock the other person out of the move w/ lp… tho thats why I was wondering whether it was worth it
Stop beasting Burghy!
last 2 months i been playing p geese kyo and r2 cammy. im having trouble parrying air supers and sagat dp i can get 3 then i fuck up:( i keep parrying buy holding back then press front is it easer to just keep pressing front or do wat i do and hold back then press front?
3 things,
for now, just Parrying 3 of the hits and block the rest
or just Parry and attack (givin priority allows it)
and just practice.
I jumped in on a Ken in C-Groove with a full gauge before. He did a Lvl 3 Shinshoryuken and I parryed it 14 times before I finally hit the ground. Its very hard, just practice and get a rythme going. I think the hardest thing is to get a rythme going cause allmost every multi-hit super/special move in the game has a different one. The distence of time between each hit differs, there for, its hard to do.
While im definetly not new to the game I am new to P Groove. I just started playing it today(its actually something I wanted to do for awhile just didnt have the time) but honestly I dont know shit about it. Ive been playing Cammy/Eagle/2Blanka which from what I know is a damn good team but honestly I dont know the first thing about P Groove. I parry at times when I should do nothing or just use a normal and I dont parry when I should. Basically what im asking is for someone who just started playing P Groove what should you do. Pratice parrying everything you can and then try to incorporate gameplay or worry more about the gameplay and parry only when necessary until you get the basics down. Sorry if this sounds confusing but I dont know the first thing about P Groove.
Well…first of all play patient in your gameplay…that is KEY.
When wanting to parry…before every attack you do…try and predict what your opponent is going to do…are they going to attack low? or high? After you’ve guessed that…do what is called option selecting. push Down or Forward then button (any attack) Leaving you with either Countering the hit your opponent made…or allowing you to parry the attack into bnb…
Don’t become a parry whore…trying to parry everything and failing all the time. To practice parrying do this. Choose N ryu. Then just fire a bunch of hadoukens…after you get the hold of this…(should take all but 2 minutes) Fire a hadouken…then run towards him and c.short. Just play around with things…something that really helped me was trying to parry all of a L3 Chun Li Lighting kick special…i could only get to 6 parry’s
I’m new to P also man…so lets help eachother!
There’s different frame windows for parrying depending if you tap the direction or just move the joystick there and hold it. Tapping is more lenient, so you want to do that.
On the topic of option select, in videos of japanese players with Kyo you’ll see them walk up, then do crouching shorts out of range. They’re option selecting down and lk (hitting the two very close together so you do a crouching lk). What this means is that the game will execute the low parry if something tries to hit you low, which Kyo would then follow with a beastly BnB. The lk sticks out to cover your ass/counterhit late. You can also option select throws/tech hits with standing roundhouse/fierces the same way with tapping forward (or so I’m told).
Movement in P-Groove should be like movement in A-groove with no roll. Jumping at someone without setting anything up is usually a bad idea. Jumping at someone standing neutral with a lvl 3 ready is damn near suicide with few exceptions (unless you have psychic powers that let you parry direct lightning all the time). You don’t want to screw up on the 2nd hit of a level 3 super and still eat 4000 damage (Shinryukens are not fun to try to parry).
P-Groove is a very Art of War/Book of Five Rings/Zen type thing. You must know your opponent before you can know yourself, etc. Knowning guard break/poke strings is part of a solid P-groove game.
hmmm.
option select, interesting… no wonder these svgl cats have anti-p-optionselect tactics against me, because there’s a name 4 it.
