I still don’t get Yamazaki, really. All I know is s.rh gives my Chun a lot of problems. I try and low fierce it but it’s too fast. Also, Yama’s j.fierce stops Chun’s j.forward, so I can’t jump in for free with that either. I play A-Chun as well as N-Chun so it seems awkward sometimes. Low jumps really help her a lot vs. Yama.
RC slashes along the screen give me the most trouble. Yama with roll is too good.

Hm, was playing a kid with a sick ass Kim the other day. Gave my team a definite run for their money. My question is how do you guys handle Kim? He’s one of those characters that is insanely unnerving to me, especially in C with mad rush down. My Yama did beat his ass about half the time, but I got bested myself quite a few times.
Anyway, any of you know some solid ways to handle Kims with Yama?
Alright my advice is very simple…Watch your FEET!!! a lot of Kim players will use his sweeps and sweep moves on you over and over…To beat him for combos jump in with lk and follow up with HP then kick dust or just HP serpeant slash…Also build meter (If u are C,N,A,or P) by kicking hella dust and waiting for him to jump,run,or roll…Serpeant slash that bastard…Dont hesitate to use his knife too…Kim will also like jumping in when he has meter to bait you into his air super…so look out for that shit…I either wait for the person to do the super then block…move out of the way…or Reverse the super with my own…Dont abuse standing HK cause he can crouch under it alot…U should be fine…
-B.:cool:Yeah, in this match especially I’m not getting enough out of K groove. I pretty much play it exclusively. Against rushdown Kim I just notice I’d be a lot better of in C/N. I do JD enough for it to be noticably worthwhile, but the merits of rolling (and RCing for that matter) would be a whole lot more beneficial.
Since I usually play K, a properly timed AA super would definitely knock that shit out of the air, but I’m guessing his throw super would work well if properly timed, too. But, lately, stored supers and kicking dust to battery is sounding better and better. But I’m just so fucking stuck on K groove. =/
Another huge asset in this match was s.mp, but that’s most every match. I guess I just like seeing it almost flawlessly work against Kim more than others.
i think K Yama has a fairly good chance against any Kim… s. sp will stuff that command jump in most of the time… and if u JD at least one of the hits u can command grab him when he lands… also if u block/JD that sweep kick to overhead thing u can Yama Kick (s. RK) him when he jumps up after the sweeping part… dunno if that made any sense but o well:D
I also play Acid Yama…just keep on moving around not exposing your feet or staying in the air too much for him to super you…I keep kicking that dust to build meter…and bait my oponent into moves…It’s all a chess game…so play with real pieces…

Yeah I end up using K Yama against Kim alot… K yama can turtle like none other (well ‘cept for good ole’ K-Gief)… I dont really have alot of comp around here… so I can usually bait them into a super just how Dr. B said… (lots of “jukes”) JD the super then combo (or Throw super them)
I like C yama the best though… just going from the throw super to the air super… if you don’t fully mash the throw super out he’ll do the animation where he grabs them around the throat and slams them … looks so cool to cancel
