I had a discussion over the net with a friend concerning Yamazaki vs Chun Li. He thinks Chun Li wins this fight, but IMO, the fight goes to Yama.
what do you all think?
I think Yama wins because he has far more tools to work with than Chun Li, a much more abusable poke (yama kick) and better supers overall. Chun Li cant trap Yama or else she’ll get dragged across the screen.
You really need meter vs. Chun. Without it, Yamazaki has no answer to jump short outside of maybe RC jab reflector. SBK trap can be hard to get around outside of N-Groove as well without meter. I think Chun has the advantage in this fight.
Yes, Yama needs meter to fight chun li. he needs meter against a lot of opponents because he’s just not as intimidating without a level two or three guillotine handy. so i put him as my second or third character… rarely use him up front.

I have had no problem with C.fierce vs j.short. At worst I trade, which works for me.
I’m up in Seattle right now and I played “DirtyShin” and his N-Yama is nasty…one of the best I played…I’m thankful for all the players who came out to visit me and play…was too good…And Yama can own Chun-Li if u play him from a distance…Chun cant get all those combo links if she’s not close to you…So dont let her get in!!! I know it’s easier said than done so kick that dust…build that meter…Serpeant slash that ass to hell!!!

yama seems very interesting and i am willing to learn him faithfully but what characters are a good team for him? I wanted to do Ken (Ratio 1) Yama (Ratio 2) and Akuma (Ratio 1) as my ratio team! or switch up and have Yama clean-up. what to u guys think?
Yeah go level 2 yama u’ll go far…Someone said to me I should make my Yama 2 once…I never did since then I like him R1 and save the R2 for other mystery guests…So try R2 and if not R1 can always do tha damage kick the dirt and put in hurt…lol!!!
