Current evaluations of game. Is it even better than the PS2 port?

Stretched on to a 4:3 monitor. Pixel Aspect is not the way to go on up loading video though. What you should be getting is 320 x 240.

Still 3-4 months of shit. Thanks, Capcom.

People seriously don’t know how software is developed. 3SO is a proper port, not quick and dirty emulation and that’s one reason why it plays closer to the CPS3 code and hardware. But porting something like that - and something so old - and insuring it works correctly is not simple. For every bug listed here as “proof of total fail how lame” you guys aren’t seeing the likely hundreds of even worse bugs and glitches that did get fixed during testing.

I think where some people come off as whining is in listing stuff like the remixed music as “issues”. That’s just dumb and petty nerd rage, especially when the music in particular is optional.

“Still 3-4 months of shit. Thanks, Capcom.”

Correction. The patch to fix matchmaking is almost out already. The “3-4 months of shit” is fine tuning small details that don’t have a lot to do with actually playing the game or finding matches online. And the fact is, they’re actually doing that; the game isn’t being abandoned after one patch like HD Remix. (People need to remember that HD Remix was essentially an abortion project with no confidence, from before the current FG revival was really underway.)

its a port of the dreamcast version not cps3.

Yeah, 3SO is a pretty proper port - of the previous console versions. Has nothing to do with CPS3, unlike what the devs said.

RYU’S BAG NOT GETTING KNOCKED OVER WHEN I WANT OR TWELVE’S XCOPY SOUND NOT BEING GARBLED HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH PLAYING THE GAME GODDAMN IT’S SERIOUS BUSINESS

What proof do you have of this? I’m sorry, but being sceptical about “budget releases” is just my nature.

It doesn’t exactly state that they’re going to keep supporting the game after their 3-4 month patch, be it one big patch or or many individual fixes. Then again, I’m assuming people will find faults within the game even after the fixes.

Well when they tell you you’re going to get remixed themes to go along with a game that has a soundtrack that a lot of us practically grew up with in the game…you expect a certain something out of it as a fan of the music especially. When someone puts their musical mark on a game that’s had iconic music as far as video games in general is concerned you’d want it to be up to standards. Especially since this is the first time this has been officially done for the game. At least HD Remix had different artists for each song so there was some that people liked and some didn’t. This shit is just done by one guy and the same cheesy style that has more dislikes than likes on youtube runs the music. The least Capcom could offer us especially with DLC is another set of remixes from someone that would remix the songs to something that lives up more to the original soundtrack and doesn’t totally scramble up Jazzy NYC to the point where it doesn’t even go with the stage or the fight anymore (there’s barely any jazz in it either).

There’s nothing wrong with us wondering why there wasn’t more effort put into the music especially when the boss of the game randomly didn’t get a remix. That’s an issue within itself. We put on remixed music but then final boss suddenly has regular music? Slam bam job there.

Playing this game to begin with is nerdy so when we “nerd rage” about shit we’re not doing anything we shouldn’t be doing. On top of the bleh job with the music it cuts off like every 5 or 10 matches or so randomly any ways.

He said beyond 1 patch

2 is more than 1 and Sven confirmed a 2nd patch. I’m hoping 2 patches is all it’ll take.

Why are you worrying more than the people that are worrying? LOL.

Because it’s my favorite fighter 4ever and I don’t want being treated this way :arazz:

So I listened to 3s Junkies Podcast Ep 2 and they were talking about how it is a good idea to practice against the cpu and ryan said sometimes he would just set the rounds to best out of 7 and play against the cpu. I went to try this and I couldn’t increase the rounds against the cpu. I would set it to best out of 5 but it only affected offline multiplayer and not arcade. Is there a way to do this because I couldn’t figure this out? Can someone please tell me how if possible? If it is not, it isn’t a major problem but I just wanted to practice hit confirming in live matches with more rounds than normal instead of in training mode with random blocking. Sorry if this is pointless.

Well I know online you can’t change the rounds. Maybe something’s different in this version and you can’t change the rounds offline either. Dunno.

yeah, it would work if you could play the cpu in versus but since it’s only arcade mode, it seems like the settings doesn’t effect it. Hopefully it gets addressed or someone else can correct me

Changing the rounds in options only effects offline versus

Oh, I wish I could play against the cpu in versus then

You’re missing the point. First, it gets stretched to 4:3, which is a minimum of 384x288, without any loss of detail, which is a higher resolution than 320x240 (240p). When rendered at 240p, detail is lost. Assuming the video is encoded at a high bit rate, 480x360 (360p) would suffice. However, anything that is uploaded to YouTube does undergo some re-compression during the conversion process. Also, right now, if you’re using the game’s YouTube feature, you’ll want to change your console’s display settings to 4:3 and not 16:9, because 16:9 will make the video lower quality. What we can be most sure of right now is that the current quality of YouTube uploads from within the game is less than satisfactory, and the whole point of it was to be convenient and eliminate the need for purchasing a capture card.

Just played 3sOE on my CRT TV at 4:3 setting on component cables, looks AMAZING

Pretty sure native CPS3 resolution is 384x224.

It is, but it actually gets stretched to 640x480 before it hits a CRT monitor. Hypothetically, even if it were not upscaled, in order to be converted to 4:3 aspect ratio without losing any detail, it would still have to be stretched to a minimum of 384x288.
