HOW TO CONTRIBUTE

Now after seeing a lot of people going back and forth about the game’s arcade perfectness…it was pretty obvious from the get go once I heard the Dreamcast music playing in the background of the previews that this wasn’t going to be “arcade perfect”. At best it would be more so “as arcade perfect of a console port” as possible. Which is to say the overall goal is more so in tune with making it more arcade perfect than the PS2 port as far as gameplay/glitches. It’s pretty obvious that the game is basically the Dreamcast/PS2 port simply coded with the arcade coding to keep things at least gameplay wise as close to arcade perfect as possible. No blue aegis, completely changed up in game life bars/timer/super meter and no arcade music are already tell tale signs of a game that wasn’t 100 percent built to replicate the arcade version visually or sound wise (even the PS2 port had the arcade soundtrack). Some would even argue this as tell tale signs that the game has hidden gameplay imperfections as well that we just may not have discovered yet.
As history with fighting games goes it’s extremely difficult to get a port of a game that’s 100 percent no different at all from the arcade. Not unless both systems run on virtually the same hardware like the Naomi (arcade board that uses Dreamcast equivalent hardware specs) Capcom games (CVS2, MVC2) and even then there still tend to be slight differences but from what I assume usually weren’t enough to make a difference for tourneys. Most of the high level and lower level 3S scene went to Evo regularly for 3 years straight playing on the obviously not arcade perfect PS2 version of the game that had definite issues even when it comes to basic things like damage output and game speed. Which is a big feat in of itself when other communities usually just take a poop on a non 100 percent port after the first year.
Now what I’m generally trying to put together is an overall consensus of two things. One is the overall evaluation of the product. This goes for anyone who hasn’t played the arcade and PS2 ports of the game for 8 years to make a real evaluation on the “better than PS2” issue. Just put down your overall evaluations on the gameplay, interface and sound, game features and just an overall review. For those that did play the PS2 port extensively, which inclucdes quite a few veterans that post on here like myself…what is your general opinion on this port gameplay/sound/feature wise over the PS2 port?
**Long story short just kinda make a list of Pros and Cons for each section. **Like list pros and cons for how you feel about the gameplay in general and/or in comparison to the arcade/ps2 port, list pros and cons for the hud/menus/music and sound effects in general and/or in comparison to the arcade/ps2 ports, list pros and cons for the game features and additional content in general and/or comparison to the arcade/ps2 port. If you didn’t play much of the arcade/ps2 port your pros/cons can just be more general and not so much a comparison.
Lastly list an overall evaluation of the product. Do you in general like what you paid for and in addition for those that played the arcade and/or ps2 ports for a long period of time do you feel you got something that is at the very least better gameplay, interface or feature wise compared to the arcade/ps2 ports? Would this game have proven to be closer to the arcade port gameplay wise over the PS2 version? This can just kinda be put together in one quick paragraph at the end.
[COLOR=#141414]What I will eventually do is gather up all the info and post it up on Capcom Unity so they can see for sure what probably the biggest fans that do or don’t live around the corner from an arcade scene for the game think about the game overall.** If there’s anybody they should listen to, IT SHOULD DEFINITELY BE US and I have a feeling they don’t check this forum on a daily basis, if ever.[/details]

COMMON OE ISSUES THAT WE AGREE SHOULD BE FIXED ASAP!
- Training mode is way too bare bones for 2011.** Needs record feature that isn’t blocked up by an auto parrying dummy, needs 2 player support and would definitely like a 2 player online training mode. Need to be able to change filters/scan lines in training mode so you have a nice way to visually see the changes. Going to options first is stupid.**
- Sound effects are generally off from arcade/PS2 port and there’s new sound glitches that aren’t even in the PS2 port.** Like sounds suddenly cutting off, music suddenly cutting off (although this is ok if Simon’s music is playing), Twelve’s unique vocal effects when he transforms in XCOPY not tuning in etc.**
- Many issues with online version of game. Xbox version having youtube uploading issues. **** Can’t set up a 2 to 7 man room without using private spots which can easily be interrupted by friends. A GGPO based netcode should have PING NUMBERS not colors. Having to wait forever before finding a ranked match and sometimes similarly for player matches. Glitches online that completely freeze up the PS3/Xbox.
- Need to have a toggle between arcade/OE HUD so meters and health bars can fit arcade specs.** Meters are clearly smaller than arcade port. **http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jx1BrE4MwaU
**- No arcade music which came standard with PS2 port. **
- Proper BGM test that allows you to play all mixes of all songs like the PS2 port.
- Trial mode is typical bare bones stuff that doesn’t go in depth enough about the game’s technicalities. **** Like how to work around parry fishing and anti parry attacks/strings, kara system, footsies/spacing with each character, meaty wake up situations etc. Deserve better than SFIV style in game teaching tools that don’t really teach you much. People online both randoms and those that regularly post on SRK could definitely learn a bit from a more robust in-game teaching system that goes over proper play so I don’t have to try to lose in ranked/player matches online.
- Need a new DLC that has music mixes from someone who would do 3S’s music more justice and fit its style better. **** People like **DJ Kariu, MaxieDaMan, Jibbo/Auto Mattock ****etc. Either that or just get a bunch of people to do one song individually like HD Remix so we have more than just one bad style. Simon’s efforts were so half put together that there’s no remix for Gill’s theme. You know something’s wrong when the music forced DJ Kariu to make a facepalm video condemning the music. **http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OR3-hkuUH_w&feature=channel_video_title
Another video complaint. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3cFWgavIw0&feature=watch_response
- Better DLC in general. Color pack is filled with 80 percent overly saturated colors that look pretty garbage.** Even with the filters only a small few among characters are really worth using without wondering if you could have edited them better yourself. The color packs should also BE SELECTABLE FROM THE CHARACTER SELECT SCREEN. 3S videoss don’t seem that great especially if its being commentated by a non 3S player like I’ve heard. That Xbox mistaken identity DLC issue is not a good look either. NG/2I music is THE ONLY thing that isn’t sub par so far.**
- Improved scan lines/filters.** It’s obvious while they work they’re not as good as stuff that you can do on the emulated versions of the game. ALSO it would be really important to have the ability to change the filters/scan lines in training mode. That’s the best place to manually test the differences but strangely training mode won’t let you do this. You have to be in arcade or vs. mode to visually see your settings.**
Not as important but still…
**- Ryu’s bag not working as in arcade **
- BLUE AEGIS!
- Akuma’s teleport making Yun/Yang’s shadows disappear
- Some of the songs (like Moving On) completely missing from the game.
- Can’t see names of players from online fights in replays.
**Extra posts to look at in reference. **
