Whatever, as long as I get something decent. =)

I’m goin to CTCon all three days for sure. I’m not exactly sure which tournaments I’m entering because I’m hype for dat M12 prerelease.
Realyst is not a moron, nor is he a disrespectful person.
The Mad Catz team is incredible, but I think Mad Catz could sponsor an excellent U.S. team in addition to that team.
As someone who plays on sticks, and works on them all the time, I can tell you that Hori sticks are at least as good as Mad Catz sticks. The different models vary in quality, but it is the same for Mad Catz; TE sticks are great and HRAPV sticks are great, and both SE sticks and lower grade Hori sticks can be modded to be good. I actually prefer Hori sticks overall by a bit.
MvC3 is very popular, and people do care about it. The game itself needs some work, but it’s not that bad a game. I mean, it’s incredibly fun, and it’s entertaining to watch, despite the issues.
Yeah, it seems Realyst is mad because Japan is getting a lot of the (sponsorship) love. And he has legitimate reasons behind that.
I agree that is would make sense for Clock to get sponsored for MvC3. Although it’d be hard for said sponsorship to be from Mad Catz, as he uses an awesome Project GiantSword custom. But in general, he seems quite deserving of some sponsorship, as do some of the other top MvC3 players.
And lastly, if one is not alright with a company’s business practices, the act of one person boycotting them might only make so much of a difference, but it does make a difference. And at the very least, it can make sense and feel right just on principle. So I respect Realyst’s viewpoint there too.
That being said, I think there’s a fair chance that Mad Catz will come through and sponsor some American players. I don’t think there’s a need to boycott them at this point.
To a pretty good extent, yeah, but they do play online too. The internet there is much better, and the population is more concentrated, online play is far better over there.
Do I play Guilty Gear?
I see what you’re getting at, and there’s definitely validity to it. However, there are U.S. players who are killers, and can get up there with the Japanese players. And then there’s Mortal Kombat, which is dominated by the States so far. They would probably sell more of those Combat Panels if they sponsored players using them.
All in all, I think it makes a lot of sense that they put together the team that they have right now, and I can also see why it would both be cool of them and be a good business decision to sponsor some U.S. players.
The older HRAP sticks use the Sega Blast/Astro City cabinet layout, where HP and HK are a bit lower. I am more used to that one, and prefer it. The HRAPV series Hori sticks and the Mad Catz sticks all have the Vewlix layout. They’re both nice. I only use American style layout and parts for MK!
Merikuh!
nice matches on peaceful jay’s stream Manny_O
Manny_O that looked like it hurt, but good shit otherwise.
I am going to make this official…
I am done with MVC3. Not trying to sound like a DJ but I have seriously tried to at least get so much down on this game starting with the basics of the mechanics but I am just too used to SF and MK that I try to frame trap players after every special and I fail miserably because there is zero recovery in this game. The fact that I am playing a fighter that is played with more than one character fucks with my head sometimes. Other than that, It’s just not a game for someone like me who chooses characters that I like rather than characters because they are good or popular. My favorite team is Spiderman, Wesker and Shuma who are probably characters I wanted to choose before this game came out, not thinking of assists, chemistry, or anything (Actually, I tried MODOK at first but substituted Shuma in that place). I just thought any team will work. I thought capcom made this game specifically for any team to work out…but no. This game is just like another pet thing where there is always an essential character you must have in your team in order to even stand a chance. I refuse to use characters like Magneto, Sentinel, Phoenix, Dr. Doom, Dante, Etc because I find them pretty boring (Dante has one of the longest lv 1 super combo in the game that is at the same time easy to land…seriously, it’s like Blanka’s grab move. It just makes me impatient and frustrates me further). The combos…oh god, why? 100% combos? Seriously? I guess it’s because I never got into the MVC series but I thought this game was going to at least a bit fair and balanced. OF course, this looks as rushed as said…X Factor is useless if the opponent can activate and just finish you off. Especially when you’re down to one character…
I played ten matches…lost nine of them. and when I won a match, the scrub friggin RAGE QUITS!!! WTF!!! And don’t get me started on how long it took me to at least get a match with someone before being disconnected. And there came a point where I realized that there was no point to playing people online if they are all going to play the same revised and fixed style that can be done to anyone who leaves themselves open. So it’s pretty much a coin flip IMO. I played this guy three times in a row…same combo, same assists, same super combos, same OTG, same snap back, same everything…I couldn’t do anything because he caught me in them easily. So online is a joke period. I’m sure offline is no different. I’m sure if I played these people in real life, i’d get destroyed. This game is all about a pre arranged studied pattern. So it’s all about winning…just winning…WTF? Another thing that I noticed is how each time I play someone, they all have a common character in their unit. That further shows how unbalanced this game really is. Also, spamming is so easy in this game. You just need a character with projectile and just spam away while playing keep away.
I am not going to bother catching up…this game frustrates me a lot. Super Street Fighter 4 frustrated me at times, but then I realize my mistakes after each match…But in this case, my mistakes are my character selections and not guessing correctly. Yes, I dare say this game is a fucking guessing game. I don’t even want to know how the experience playing MVC2 is like. -_- I don’t feel that this game is worth the time and effort. I have been playing fighting games since childhood and even played competitively at a young age, and I must say this is the most frustrating fighting game I have ever playe and I dare say THE HARDEST fighting game of all time in my books. It’s not even fun anymore so why bother with this…I guess that’s just preference. It’s sad really…I was so excited and was ready to put some time into it and try to at least be decent but I doubt I can even compete with casual players. It looks like a game I would enjoy as a kid, but come on! Why does it have to be this BS? =\
Today I turned 20…gonna get MK9 in a few days with AE. SO HYPED!
Will I ever get back to MVC3? Maybe…Whenever I’m bored, I’ll get back on it and just start from scratch but for now, I think it’s time to just stop playing this game. It really ruined my day today as it reminded me how crap I was at this game. And when it comes to fighting games, I can at least show some kind of challenge. But I never been so owned like this. =(
i think my tangent was misdirected stupid white on black avatars…
oh, and super long tl;dr rant right there jacope… ppl need blogs.
Happy BDAY, and yay for the +1 to the CT MK scene
Marvel has always been about choosing what’s good rather than what you like. Come on.
Edit: The hardest fighting game of all time?
Words escape me.
Word no doubt man always happy to help. If you werent going to get it I was about to PM you for the sellers info lol. Glad it worked out for you though. I would have probably used it for the same purposes you gave above. You got it for a low price and it makes things pretty convenient when you have company, which is always a good thing.
Thank you Bacardi! I’ve been playing this game a lot at a friend’s house lately and I have a feeling i’ll be spending more time with this one than AE.
Iron Trigger, that’s probably why this series never caught my attention. I mistakenly believed this third installment would be more fixed and at least playable towards all levels. But it’s a pure competitive game…Not saying that fighting games have to be fun but the fact that I can’t just choose any character I want shows how unbalanced it is. And yes, I believe this game is very hard. MVC2 looks pretty hard as well based on the gameplay footage of real pros going at it. Not a game I would like to involved with. lol
AE is easily the most balanced version of SSF4 if you ignore the top 3. Buuuutttttt those three are there and they’re on the wrong side of fair.
Marvel 2 is the greatest game of all time btw.
I agree with this actually for the most part. I think that Yun, Yang, Fei, and Ken really destroy the games engine. They are tooooo good.
I love how the only aspect of my post that everyone commented on was that I think Hori sticks suck except for Bluenine. GG’s. Honestly bluenine, you’re a good man. Always a pleasure to see you/speak w you, etc.My other points made in the post are valid and make sense despite that some of you may or may not disagree.
I enjoy everyone elses company in CT as well (regardless that we disagree online lol) I just don’t like Will, at all. Not gonna hide it.
Manny-Seriously, although you still put me on blast and have my number I enjoy playing with you. Sorry for being a tool to you and being a bitch.
Bobby-You seemed like a really cool dude man. Fun playing mvc3 with you.
Tetsuo-Same…but with ST. ha.
Craig-Despite our quarrel about a month or two ago online that got personal you’re a cool guy.
Marvel 3 is a bad game. It IS fun…but thats all it is. Same goes for AE. I’ve been having fun with Yang lately. Been preppin for 3S so i’ve been playing dudley, ibuki, yang, yun, and akuma.
Entirely incorrect.
The game was geared towards casual players from the beginning. Marvel vs Capcom was just meant to be a fan wank from the start of the series.
…And that’s why I love it.
