Its definitely worth voicing to them. They are turning record profits so they have the money for it. I’m a shareholder with them so if you want any info just let me know.
I bought their stock before the release of the original TE ans SE releases. The stocks value has gone up over 400% since I bought in. I wonder how much of that the U.S. market is directly responsible for?
Really, though, I haven’t thought of it that way before. Mad Catz is an international company, and I’m not surprised to see them sponsor a team of Japanese top players. Still, I think it would make sense for them to have an American team as well.
As for Hori…they’ve been holding it down for forever. Will continue to play on my Hori sticks until I finish my custom…!
I’m sorry, but I seriously doubt Japanese players are buying TE’s at all. The American market needed them. Japan already had plenty of those types of sticks while we had none. I just hope they put back into the community. Thats my main thing. IMO, they shouldn’t be doing for other countries that they aren’t doing here. There are tons of good players here that don’t have sponsorships. A player like Chris G is sponsored by basically a Mom and Pops business. Not saying that there is anything wrong with that especially if he is happy. That guy wrecks in multiple games. There is no reason he shouldn’t be sponsored by a bigger company unless he chooses otherwise.
And don’t get me wrong, I am well aware that Mad Catz had partnerships with other community based compamies and such…
Your right, the Japanese have always had a lot of options as far as sticks go. I have to say I agree completely with you now that you point it out. They wouldn’t be in the financial position they are currently in if it wasn’t for their fans from the U.S that bought multiple sticks. Most of us have more than one.
Well you could look at it as them sponsoring Japanese players and bringing them to American tournaments as a benefit to American players. Since we don’t normally get to play them that often and now that they are sponsered they’ve come to america more times than just once for evo.
This is why I think you’re a moron. Do not discriminate someone else’s opinion before discussing the matter with them. You pretty much openly said, “Kyriptic, your opinion does not matter to me.” You’re so rude and disrespectful.
You clearly do not understand business then. lol. It doesn’t matter that what they are doing is dick. It’s profitable. Whether we like it or not, it was smart. Why the fuck for their companies sake should they pick up Marn? Inthul? Ricky Ortiz? Nerd Josh? Viscant? Honestly, the world isn’t a happy/fair place man. You should know this by now. Business is business.
Picking up:
Daigo
Mago
Tokido
Is probably the best idea EVER. Why the hell would you want to pick up inconsistent US players who (as a country) are not better than Japan at all? Momochi, Poongko, Daigo, Mago, Tokido, Hiropon, Aqua, > PR Rog, Justin, Marn, Ricky Ortiz, Wolfkrone, Combofiend, Mike Ross, Inthul, Arturo, and basically any set of US players. (Mike and Marn random ultras? lol) EVERY single tournament they participate in they are GOING TO be the best team. Period. With the BEST Akuma, Ryu/Yun, and Fei in the WORLD you can bet team mad catz will be sweeping teams left and right. It’s like saying, why would I own the San Antonio Spurs when I could own the Miami Heat? Why would I pick up Dirk Nowitzki if I could pick up Lebron James? Yes, the US has beaten Japan multiple times but on a nowhere even close to consistent basis. No ones perfect, daigo and team mad catz definitely lose sometimes. Its human.
Jap > US in general and the only person worth mentioning to sign that is not signed would be Wolfkrone…but he plays on a STANDARD ps3 pad. Not too worth it for mad catz. Japan has ALWAYS been better than us at SF but we have always been better than them at MVC. Once again, why sponsor for MVC3? No offense, but that game is bad. SF is a more popular series atm (although I think AE is ass personally. It is better than mvc3 tho) Why sponsor someone playing third strike when i could sponsor for AE? AE/Sf is more popular than MVC3 atm (mainly because it is new/fresh) so the key sponsorships lie there.
No one cares how good Chris G is at Marvel 3. He has the best Ryu in the world. Fact. But no one cares about sponsoring you for a crappy game. How many sponsorships have we seen from people being good at MVC3? Like three to four? Close to nothing. Team Hori? Hori sticks suck. I don’t use stick and I know Hori is one of the lower end sticks. You’re basically just mad that Japan is getting all of the love atm. You’re going to sell your sticks because you’re mad bro? Because I am sure you selling your sticks will make a difference/change the world? Have a good day.
If anything, Fucking Clockw0rk needs to get signed. I still strongly stand by my statement that he is the best Marvel player overall. No one is as creative and execution heavy as he is. He also has the best Strider, Doom (in both games) Phoenix, and Amaterasu in the world.
I dont agree with most of what you said but for the sake of us all I cant help but mention; saying HORIs suck is crazy. They make amazing quality sticks.
Lol. Nope, I’m not getting trolled. I’m just going to keep it simple.
Dont Jump - I was not talking to you. I’m never talking to you except for right now. First thing you typed was something insulting so I didn’t read the rest of your post. In response to the first line that I read though I’ll be really clear. Next time you see me, stay far away from me and don’t even say hello. Because at this point, I can not guarantee that I will not hit you. So if you want to be sure that won’t happen please take a very strong heed to this post and my warning. That is all.
Bobbypigo - I have 2 myself! I think players that can rock in multiple games should be getting sponsors especially. Chris G rocks it in mvc3, ssf4 and mk9. Someone else like Ryry… Wtf, this guy was top 16 at Final Round in ST, Tekken, ssf4, Marvel and whatever other games he entered. That guy needs to be sponsored.
Kryptic - Thats true. I just hope when Evo vs Gods Garden goes down, we see some sponsored American players. Especially American Tekken players. The best Tekken players never get to go to SBO because most of them use pad. And the real messed up part is Korean players are allowed to use Korean sticks, but Americans can’t use pad. I think that is utter trash.
