I lol’ed hard while listening to this

lmao my music and voice recorder stopped at the same time. easily one of the best posts in here.

11-6pm i can do walter. probably end up there after 2 if i can’t get my plans changed.

i need to get my own evo monitor because right now i’m handicapped on it and can’t get my one frames even with plinks and dash ultra with deejay. Need those to win certain matchups.

Wait wait. Games aren’t ALWAYS getting worse. Plenty of them have continued to be good, or are getting better.

Also, I much prefer SSFIV to SFIV, and I have played SSFIVAE on several occassions, and I prefer it to SSFIV. The twins are definitely trouble, but I think that it’s entirely possible that either people will figure out how to fight against them well enough that they won’t seem so ridiculous, or they will simply either be patched or banned. (And it’s mostly Yun, actually, not so much Yang, though he is very good.) That aside, why wouldn’t you be looking forward to AE? It seems much more balanced, and the new characters are cool. Also, Ibuki has a cool new effect on her command dashes. Have you seen it?

If you get an Evo monitor, I recommend the Alienware AW2210 that they used in 2010 as opposed to the ASUS that they used in 2009. It lags less, has better color, and I think the design is very appealing. The downsides are that it’s more expensive, slightly smaller, and doesn’t have speakers built in, but I’d say it’s worth the money, a good size, and compute speakers are very inexpensive (and you might already have something that you could use).

Or you could just go to Craigslist or Salvation Army and buy a standard for ~$30 or so, or maybe even get one for free. It’s not HD, but it won’t lag, and it would be quick and easy.

Its because he probably watched a video that said SS4AE and everyother game suck and will continue to suck. Maybe thats what the “rapture” was. No more good fighting games ever…wait…N OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Haha. That doesn’t look like Betty White in your avatar anymore, man.

yeah i know…i have to change it back. I was at work when i changed it. I have to find a better pic lol

If you notice a difference in “lag” on the asus vh236h and the aw2210 props to you good sir.

159 after rebate this weekend on the asus for people.

Ciggs they have us covered for power strips and extensions, next time we will be against the wall and not like we were last time. Hopefully we wont have to be bringing our own setups after much longer.

I honestly do. Have played on both of them, sometimes even on the same day, and there is a difference. Tests also reflect this. It is not a huge difference, though, and many people won’t notice.

That’s a good deal for the ASUS.

Size, color depth, audio difference can add to perceived lag. Not trying to start an argument or nothing but ill look up the tests, but for the tournaments we will be having we will be using the asus vh236h

I’ve already decided on the asus, but that thanks for the input blue.

I’m ordering one next. I have a crt to play on til then.

The only reason I might not like AE is b/c ppl who are going to be using deejay because guile is “ass.”

Hopefully a top US player picks him up so I can learn something.

LOL

I’m not the one to pick arguments with people online, but my god are you one special kid. I play as Vega because I like him but it does not mean it makes me any better just because I decide to get better with a shit character by match up standards. Hence why that part just sounded so pathetic and I wouldn’t be surprised at how scrubby you must be at SSF4. Tier is a sorry ass excuse when you lose or struggle, hence why you will never progress in your game and will keep crying than practicing and learning. If people choose to play as a character because of the amount of damage they can do or the advantages they have over other characters, let them be. Try to be the one to beat that kind of player if you hate them so much. I have seen you do nothing in this thread but express negative opinions on games we all like. Why do you keep trying? IT WONT CHANGE ANYTHING. Instead of whining, just play the games you like…seriously. I personally find people who cry over tiers and making baseless assumptions about the player more annoying than the players who use “top tier” characters for “easier wins”. BTW, quit talking like you are one of the only ones who does something a certain way unlike other players. You sound like the modern day hipster of fighting games. XD

That’s all I have to say.

Anyone going to that Donkey Kong Country tournament this weekend? It’s a little underground, you guys probably haven’t heard of it.

just for the record
This new SRK.com Site Sucks ball I lost my Project Esco Nasty Tournament Post and forum.
But the Waterbury Tournament is still on June5th in Waterbury … Hope to see you all there

You’re still not stepping out of the box and just understanding that while x-factor might be “gay”, as well as the unblockables and all of the other over-the-top nuances that MvC3 has to offer (there are many of them), it’s present throughout the game more or less in its entirety.

Your opinion makes it sound like you want to be able to play MvC3 the way you want to be able to play it, despite the way the game was designed. It’d be one thing if you were unhappy losing to bullshit mechanics **AND **unhappy winning with bullshit mechanics. But that’s not the case, because you come on the thread and talk about beating someone (e.g. - Craig Keller) and call him out, all the while not realizing that you’re winning with the same bullshit everyone else is winning with. And despite your claims, you’re not doing anything different.

But if you keep playing the game and keep complaining, I can only conclude that you have a pretty hard time separating your ideals from reality when it comes to games.

Do you have any idea how many times you’ve actually posted this **same exact premise in regard to your opinion **about MvC3 and/or SSFIV in this thread in more or less the same manner each time? Either put the game down or play it the way it was meant to be played. That’s why good players are good.

I highly recommend the following: http://www.gamesradar.com/f/change-the-way-you-think-to-get-better-at-games/a-20100623102639680048

If you’re not playing/practicing with the attitude portrayed in the article above, then you’re doing it wrong, not the developers.

A good read, but you guys are wasting your damn time trying to reason with the braindead.

-Manny likes Viper
-Kryptic likes Cammy
-Tommy likes Gen
-Jamal likes DeeJay
-Sho likes Rose
-I like Bison

I’m pretty sure most people play their character because they like them. Not our fault we just so happen to like characters that are pretty good. Oh wait your character is pretty good…you just suck lol. But I guess you are too brain dead to realize that. That’s why you play Ibuki.

/done talking to you now

Games, in general are simply losing depth and difficulty. They are getting more fun and accessible because we live in a generation where people want things done quick, fast, and efficiently. I think games are still fun; yes, for sure but…they are losing a great deal of depth and I would almost state that as fact. It’s not even so much just the “game itself” that is making this true. The internet is a giant factor as well. It used to be you figured shit out on your own…now the internet…

-Lets see you the “ending” of a video game
-Tells you combos or inputs
-Strategy
-Ideas/Concepts/Different Perspectives

And basically in a sense, tells you how to do whatever you’re trying to do in said game. The world we live in now basically spoon feeds us information. Remember how fast we figured out the tier list for SSF4 compared to SF4? SF4’s tier list was final about 3-4 months before SSF4 with about a good 5-7 changes give or take. SSF4? Two tier lists. Take a look at Smashwiki.com and compare the amount of tier lists on Melee to Brawl as well. People are figuring out the “stupid” or the “broken” shit much faster as time progresses. Everything is much more cut and paste now then it used to be. It’s diminishing from meta game progression, a strong learning process from the player about competitive play, and the desire to WANT to learn. Basically, people are thinking less and doing more “auto pilot”.

I GUARANTEE you that EVERYONE in this thread would drop AE, MVC3, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, etc if

CVS2
Third Strike
ST
MVC2

still were played games and were hosting tournaments. I guarantee it.

If I’m a new player to a community (never played SF my entire life) and I go on the forums and want to learn, how interesting or desirable is it going to be in terms of fun, depth, and strategy if I find out that “Down Back” is pretty much the height of the meta game and in a sense one of the strongest things in the game? Just blocking and waiting it out. Or if i never played marvel 3 to find out that i just need to pick some characters that mesh well and do some random offense and make the assists and chemistry work? That’s EXACTLY what that game is.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhvqJiQC5cc&feature=player_embedded (Second to last match. Tell me Gorath does NOT mash CR L at the end…)

Think about it: Why are new games dying faster than older games? The amount of interest in the games is decreasing by the “new players” which is what fuel games. A games life cycle and amount of played time is structured by the demand of interest from the new players. Why do you think SF4 was so popular? It was a strong interest from the new player. Why did SSF4 stay strong? It drove in crowds from the Alpha series, Third Strike series, and as well as new players who wanted to try out Juri. Remember how popular Juri was at launch? Allllllll the scrubs were all about playing her. These games all have “phase like” life cycles or short little “highs” IMO. But why? It’s the amount of learning that a game takes to understand it fully. It’s easier to understand the height of the meta game and why such and such works. Easier is more FUN but it does not possess more depth or value.

Compare new gen life cycles (MVC3, SSF4, SF4, BB, Brawl, Tekken 6)

To old gen life cycles (MVC2, CVS2, ST, Smash 64, Smash Melee, Third Strike)

-50 percent top tier…that’s just within our own state. Not the community as a whole. (I also think Rose is high tier…but that is just me.)
-Ibuki is not brain dead. If shes brain dead, why does NO ONE play her?

You know whats hilarious too? Your XBL status says “Auto Pilot- [on] off” and you’re trying to tell me you don’t play auto pilot characters. LOL.

hahah god damn DJ, stop posting no one cares

MVC2 and ST are both still played games hamster brain.
