It’s one thing for someone to give another praise for being good with a character that may be lower on the tier list. It’s another to use it as an excuse as to why others beat you; regardless of picking a better character than yours. Hypocritical and pretty closed-minded.
And your argument ends here.
I’ve used Gouken for three fucking years. He’s not a horrible character, but he’s not the best. I’ve gotten praise for using him, yea, but the bottom line is that if I do lose a match, the other player isn’t going to (and shouldn’t) give a shit. As long as someone shows me good sportsmanship regardless of the characters chosen, the match-up, our differences in skill, that’s as far as it goes.
Oh, sure as shit have I been salty about losing, but you’ll NEVER catch me complaining that the reason why I lost is because someone picked a better character than me. I lost on my own accord. Not knowing the match-up, the situations I should/shouldn’t be in with my character, and not maximizing potential of the options that work + mix-up.
Oh and for the record, I’ve recently dropped Gouken. For Ryu. I’m not good with him yet, but I’m learning the basics. And you know what? I’m realizing things about Street Fighter IV that I had either forgotten, or didn’t know at all. And I’m re-learning the fundamentals of the game; comparing the differences between characters. It’s called expanding your knowledge.
Raion doesn’t need me to stick up for him, but I’m going to anyways. He called **you **out on the hypocrisies in your complaints. And even though it might have seemed like he had a little bit of a troll-face going while doing so, he pointed out the holes in your game. You just happen to have a knack for pissing enough people off because talking to you is like talking to a brick wall. Even people like Raion; whose respect for others around him is s-tier. Screw you for even attempting to knock him down a peg.
Your post has nothing to do with pride, and everything to do with arrogance.
Yeah dude, Ibuki is pretty autopilot. She’s very very good, and definitely viable. Even if you did play a much better character than her you wouldn’t be a good player. You have too many horrible habits that would be easily exposed even on those braindead characters. Also, LMAO@ “her best footsies” clearly you don’t even know what footsies are. Standing in place whiffing stand mp or having it blocked twice in a row into a non hit confirmed slide shows how much of a mental player you really are.
I notice you have a huge lack of understanding of fighting games and how they work. Fundamentals will always get you far, but you don’t even understand what fundamentals are.
I never said your vortex was cheap lol. Learn to read.
-Maybe if you were good at baiting counter hits I would stop OS teching(why stop if you don’t do anything about it? LMAO)
-I usually don’t get hit by your random EX DPs.
-Yes Ibuki can be auto pilot. As soon as you get your knock down you just go through the patterns. Most Vortex characters in general are like this. Simply jump in, input your option select so the game can make the right decision for you and then get your damage/pressure.
-I was talking about neck breaker being punishable
-My character has below average health and stun so I don’t know what you are talking about
-My character has very little comeback potential
-Making comebacks on my character is fairly easy considering his stun, the fact that jump ins on him are free if positioned and timed correctly(Not many people are going to be able to react to your jumps every single time since all of his AAs are situational)
-His wake up options get blown up by OSing(You can take a risk and hope you guess right on which OS your opponent does so you can escape.) Characters like Fei Long, Rufus, Balrog, and basically every other character in the game can punish a wake up EX PC(Some punishes aren’t as heavy, but characters like Rufus and Rog can get full ultra for a blocked EX PC)
You need solid defense to play the character correctly, and you can’t slip up or else you will probably die depending on the character.(Abel, Cammy, Akuma, Viper, Seth, Gief, Ibuki)
I admit that Bison’s learning curve is simple, but that doesn’t mean staying solid and being consistent with him is that easy. And i am definitely not saying he is bad because he isn’t.
I don’t even care to argue with you, or even care about your opinion for that matter. I just think you should stop talking shit, because you are in no position to do so.
This thread is stupid. Raion, it will not work. This kid doesnt learn his lessons in life, what makes you think he’s gonna learn them in street fighter. The fact that he lives on the beach makes anything you say worthless; i mean, how can you compete with that?
Why you guys talking about my waifu? Well we did get seperated and i’ve been dating this pirate bitch/lawyer bitch on the side but still!
Also Don’t Jump I’mma tell it like it is no troll. Your interest in older games is cool but the real reason I came back into this scene is because we had no scene for those older games, the new games have the community I always wanted aka a scene that plays and your able to find the matchups you need to get the experience. Playing a ‘better’ game won’t make you a ‘better’ player. Knowing your situations and knowing how to react is what makes you a better player and of course the classic ‘being clutch’ when you are familiar enough with fighters you’ll be able to react even to situations unfamiliar. It takes experience and biting your lip because if you give lip you’re already wasting too much mental energy that could be applied to the game. Excuses are excuses.
hey dont jump are we still gonna play for money when i come down to a ct tourney man? or actually come to super bowl man its this sunday (may 15th) and show me all ur cool cambos and footsie knowledge.
you’re a bad player. being acknowledged on the ibuki srk boards means shit. the bums (ie: you) exponentially outweigh the people with common sense, knowledge, and respect on SRK. how many top ibukis are out there that are making noise anyways? ClakeyD and Iyo. I dont ever hear the name dont jump being dropped.
Just a quick reminder guys; setting up a room tonight at 730 for super iv and it will be streamed on justin.tv keyword dontblowthis. Also having a gathering this Sunday for Super turbo if anyones interested let me know via pm so I can give you my address.
Really? You dropped Gouken? I thought you were like…a dedicated Gouken main. So much for that theory…(Waits for Frank to drop Gen)
Are Frank and I the only ones left who stick with the character they have FUN with and ENJOY playing?
For someone who puts me down so much…you lose to me more often then you should. I love playing you man because your saltiness is hilarious. You HATE losing to me. Remember when I beat you with Ryu? Or your Ken at PF? Your Magneto on MVC3 and you said the game was “so fucking scrub friendly. LOLS” You’re better than me (admits that) but you’re not some god tier player. Your Viper is very solid and arguably one of the best that I HAVE PLAYED but you’re the most conceited person I’ve met in the SF community. Period…
You are in the top 71% for Health but the bottom 40% for health. Not a bad average.
This is a dominated defensive game. Most characters do.
This is partly true. His AA options are really bad and yes his stun is of the lower end but bison has the tools in every which way. Most good players Dont Jump and good players should always be on the look out for jump ins and should be able to react regardless. This is why he is top three in this game.
True. But you have solid FADC options, (w 2 bars) some of the games best footsies to AVOID knockdowns, some of the best corner pressure, multiple options from wake up, one of the games best jump ins, and you dont even need your ultra dude… (teleport, ex psycho, scissor fadc, backdash, block)
JUST Bison? That’s every single character in this game dude. That is why this game is defensive. lol. (Chun, Ryu, Honda, Bison, Guile, Seth, Akuma, Rog are all characters that either dominate defensively or have a strong balance of defense and offense. In other words, defense is more preferred for this game.
Agreed. I’m just bothered that you think Ibuki is more auto pilot than Bison when Ibuki is far more technical at lower, mid, and high levels than Bison is.
I wish I lived elsewhere where people would be willing to play instead of “online” and all this mess. Playing an older game also forces the idea of driving yourself to such and such destination to play. I also just really think MVC2, SF3, Marvel super heroes, cvs2, etc would just be reallllllyyyy fun to learn. Regardless when 3S comes out on Xbox live/psn im probably going to drop AE because i think it’s going to be similar to mvc3 and just be a bunch of random dive kicks, long ranged pile drivers, mashing rekkas, and just mindless offense. Looking at SF4…then SSF4…then mvc3…and then footage for AE (knowing they did not listen to fan requests for characters AT ALL and did the laziest inserts ever) I really do not have expectations for it.
Who knows though, maybe it will be solid. We’ll see.
You want to play me. You’re challenging me. Why the flying hell should I go to you?
If you actually think 3s is more balanced than ae… :nono: Seriously its not the games you’re playing its the way you’re thinking. If you’re willing to drive out for old games but ready to stay home for new games it’s not the games… it’s the excuses. :nono:
I am dedicated to Gouken. Also, Frank is included in the group of people I play SFIV the most with on a regular basis. Dropping Gouken for awhile was advice they had all given me. Frank’s advice more or less verbatum: “Put him down for awhile. You know everything you need to know about Gouken. Even the things you dont’ execute on a regular basis. Pick up someone else who can teach you a different aspect of the game. I got so frustrated with Gen for awhile and I did the same thing trying to work over a hump. I used Ken, etc…etc… Now I’m back to Gen with a better knowledge of the game and even better.”
