So don’t try to talk down on someone’s game when you have A LOT to work on in terms of fundamentals for fighting games in general. Just knowing how to do combos in a game doesn’t make you good by a long shot.

Don’t care who you are, or how long you’ve been on the scene. Best advice for any player, IMO. I’m learning that shit the long and salty way too.

The only reason you get wins with your character is because all you have to do is knock your opponent down once to start your stupid vortex. You fish for your knockdowns so hard it isn’t even funny, because once you get it you can just autopilot your way to victory.

Cant complain that he fishes for knockdowns to go into mixups, means he should be easy to defeat. Complain about his lack of footsies perhaps?

P.S. Your game plan as stated above works a lot better online than offline. Remember that.

A solid mixup game is good offline and online, but he should relax on the overtly critical stuff

@Bacardi: Ibuki’s command slide is definitely punishable with a 3 frame normal from basically anywhere on the screen(Not entirely sure if anything higher than that can punish it, but I know 3 frame normals definitely punish it.) And I was making the online vs offline comparison because the vortex is harder to block online, and of course it is harder to tech throws.
I wouldn’t have started being critical if Don’t Jump wasn’t hoping down people’s throats spewing nonsense like he is some sort of Grand Master.

Edit: All versions of neck breaker are -13 on block apparently. Never bothered looking, because of the lack of people that play the character. From mid to almost full screen it is punishable definitely.

To all the CT people on the board Hello!

I’m a pretty old school gamer who is actually just coming back to the scene after a decade away. I don’t plan to travel to tourneys anymore nor do I care, I just like to play games and I enjoy good competition. I play all types of games from Fighting, FPS, RTS, RPGs, and MMOs, etc.

So to the contrary to what one of you said about avoiding competition etc. I actually look for it. With that said I am more than willing to share my knowledge with anyone in CT who wants to learn. I no longer play fighting games at a professional level, but I’m good enough that I’m sure you will learn something. Right now I’m currently playing MvC3 but I also play Tekken 6, SSF4, and MK9.

So to anyone who wants to play/learn I’m always down. Weekends are definitely best, but if you want to game for a few hours during the week I may be able to accommodate (I live in Meriden, CT 06450). Just shoot me a PM or reply to this post if you are at all interested I prefer high level competition, but if you are new and just want to learn that is perfectly fine too. Only thing I ask in return is to show RESPECT. Meaning I don’t deal with those that talk trash or make constant excuses because I’m too old to be someone’s baby sitter :razzy:

Haha you still remember the Horsemen, you must be pretty OG. I guess the whole Jurrasic park thing is pretty true, I am like a dinosaur compared to the current gaming community at this point (I’m 30 going on 31). As for a MvC1 tourney if I still had my dream cast i would definitely host some Cross-Fever. I actually still have 2 green agtec sticks, but they probably don’t even work any more lol. Unfortunately, I had to leave the gaming scene due to real life catching up with me, but now that things are more established, I have some opportunity to game, so lets do it! :rock:

The only reason Kryonik played in any tourneys that ever had sf4 or even ssf4 is because he came with me to those tourneys. Outside of that he never plays the game. PERIOD. Be it casuals with g0dhand, tommy, realyst, or even myself he still wouldn’t play, because he doesn’t like the game, but wouldn’t complain/bitch and moan. Something you should start doing. If you do not like the game, DO NOT PLAY IT. Don’t go online say you hate it, it sucks, etc hoping people will back you up, and Capcom will go out and change it because you said so. As to why he would play in tourneys, because he was helping out the community, and the tourney providers/scene. Only a douche bag would go to a tourney sit around, and only play casuals against other people in different games then the one that is being hosted. Grow a pair and play in the game that is being hosted. If you don’t like it, do not go. Simple as that.

I understand your interest in older games all of a sudden as a new person on the scene, unfortunately there isn’t tourneys or people who are interested in those games anymore. If you travel to any majors out there tho, there are a bunch of side tourneys of the older games where you can play people like yourself who are either still interested in those, or still love them as much. A lot of those games you mention are just as flawed if not more then most current games out.

My Kunai Vortex is cheap? Not my fault you don’t know how to deal with the low mid tier character dude. If you can’t block my vortex it means I’m mixing you the fuck up and you have no idea what I’m doing.

IBUKI IS AUTO PILOT? (Says the Bison player? ROFL!)

You should play Ibuki and tell me if she is auto pilot. Really, give it a go for a little while. You’ll get fucked up. You cant do random EX psycho crushers, safe lk scissors, have great footsies, amazing jump in priority, have good health and stun value. Rog, (BY FAR) Bison, Guile, and Cammy are the biggest auto pilot characters in the game. I think Viper, Ibuki, Seth, and Gief are the hardest at top level.

I know my character extremely well and know all my match ups very well. I’m not the best ibuki but my mix up game is solid and I know my core fundamentals with her. I’m recognized on the Ibuki boards as a strong contributor to the community and am dedicated to my character which is something that most of this community does not do. So many people have dropped her as a character…it’s not even funny. TommyTwo, Nerdjosh, Luisthepanda, Mingodynasty, xxteefxx, etc.

Since day one of SSF4 I’ve been playing Ibuki. Don’t lecture me on my character and how she is played when you clearly, don’t know what you’re talking about because you think

A-Shes auto pilot
B-Slide is punishable

Ibuki is merely a mental and offensive character. This is a core reason why she is a bad character in SSF4 and is considered the lower end of the tier list. Her best footsies are st LP, cr LP, cr mk, F LK, HP(x2) st mk, and cr mp; all of which are dismal and below par. She needs to be inside 100% of the time and always constantly mixing you up to avoid footsie/neutral positioning where she does below average against some of her toughest match ups. (Rose, Bison, Ken, Akuma) She relies on a weak vortex and mix up game that is not even comparable to Gief, Abel, Seth, Akuma, or Ken due to her easy to block SAFE mix up. She has more possibilities doing other set ups but some of them are not safe. For instance, there is a setup I do after B throw and EX NB that I can’t use against characters with a 3 frame reversal because it is a safe jump. Her tricks are basically MU specific. She has some decent safe jumps against most of the cast but they are extremely easy to see once you know when they are coming. Her ultra is pretty much a waste of time and is comparable to Seth’s u2 because although useful and easy comboable the minimal damage increase compared to a BNB or hard punish BNB leaves her with the inability to pressure which is what she must do at ALL times. This goes with Seth as well because of how long it takes for him to recover after the TE.

If anything, its more legit to say Bison is auto pilot.

C-Ibuki is as autopilot after knock down as much as Cammy I think, sorry. Just because your character has an awesome 50/50 after a knockdown doesn’t mean your awesome at mixing shit up, but its not your fault for using your characters strengths either.
