I have to agree, when you said Derrick Legend and strategic in the same sentence I didn’t even watch the video. No offense to Derrick himself, I mean, its the game that allows that team to work as well as it does. I mean he has made a couple top 16s in fairly large tourneys but really, I wouldn’t describe his play as chesslike.

He was trolling, being a dick, and didnt even show good sportsmanship after the set and just walked away and Inthul was beyond upset. I lol’d though because when Floe kicked his ass with Phoenix he sat there all depressed. This is not good representation of us for the East Coast. IMO, there are much fewer people here on the East Coast that are great people to play with.
People do not want to teach new players because they want to REMAIN ahead and better than everyone so they can win events/standout. No one cares about the growth of the players around them. It’s all selfish, cocky, and full of no pride around here. Part of being a player in a COMMUNITY is being able to help those around you and be willing to give other people advice. Most people do not like playing people worse than them (fairly understandable) but how do you think you can change that? How do you think you can make the experience of playing other people WORTH IT? By TEACHING them. But that’s just the root of it…no one wants to take the time to do that. No one has any patience, any pride, or respect for new players. This is a reason why old games are dying FASTER. Example: Bacardi told me that he doesn’t want to teach me because a game has been out for 10 years and i “should know” how to play it. Why? Just because its been out I should know how to play it? lol, why? KOF has been out for years and i dont know the first thing about that game…sorry! The translation is: I don’t feel like teaching you. I’m not calling you out Bacardi or anything man (sorry, lol) but it is a valid point. I used to play Melee and there were people that I played that i raped and was just 10x better than. You know what though? I gave them advice, played with them often, and in the end they came out as people I enjoyed playing and friends on top of that as opposed to just being video game fuck buddies basically. You know that feeling when you go to play someone just for video games and if you can’t play then theres no point because the sole reason of seeing them is just for video games? lol.
Of course you know nothing about defense, because you have none. Please, go back to being free at SSF4 and just mashing with Bison. The only reason you’re good at MVC3 is because you literally, have no defense or concept of what that word is and guess what? Defense sucks in MVC3. Remember that time at PF man? Yeah, me too. You play BISON and can’t win matches. What does that tell you? MVC3 is scrubby and full of random garbage. You can jump in, mix up attacks, and just play mindlessly. It’s the biggest let down in gaming history. We waited ten years for that crap? Ouch.
Go play MVC3. It blows. Every single character in that game is MINDLESS. Dante, Skrull, Zero, Magneto, Sentinel, Wolverine, Akuma, Tron, Wesker, Amaterasu. Everyone.

Comparing that game to Children of the Atom, MVC1, MVC2, Marvel Super Heroes, etc is laughable.

OK, now you need to stop posting. Have you noticed that MVC3 isnt a defensive game? Actually isnt most fighting games about offense? Last time I checked you couldnt win a game by blocking. The only reason Kryonik played in any tourneys that ever had sf4 or even ssf4 is because he came with me to those tourneys. Outside of that he never plays the game. PERIOD. Be it casuals with g0dhand, tommy, realyst, or even myself he still wouldn’t play, because he doesn’t like the game, but wouldn’t complain/bitch and moan. Something you should start doing. If you do not like the game, DO NOT PLAY IT. Don’t go online say you hate it, it sucks, etc hoping people will back you up, and Capcom will go out and change it because you said so. As to why he would play in tourneys, because he was helping out the community, and the tourney providers/scene. Only a douche bag would go to a tourney sit around, and only play casuals against other people in different games then the one that is being hosted. Grow a pair and play in the game that is being hosted. If you don’t like it, do not go. Simple as that.
I understand your interest in older games all of a sudden as a new person on the scene, unfortunately there isn’t tourneys or people who are interested in those games anymore. If you travel to any majors out there tho, there are a bunch of side tourneys of the older games where you can play people like yourself who are either still interested in those, or still love them as much. A lot of those games you mention are just as flawed if not more then most current games out.

Unfortunately due to the lapse of time that game has been out, anything you could want to know about that game is online in readable format. Every combo/match up is already done to death for you to read. I suggest playing online once again now instead of being quick to dismiss it, use it as a tool you can use to improve your game. You don’t think you coming down to play for 3-4 hours to be on the receiving end of a never ending beat down in 3s is constructive do you? I can install it on my laptop tonight or tomorrow and we can throw down in some ggpo if you want.

You don’t have good footsies. You do random slides from full screen. You use Ibuki’s DP/kunai without thinking about the consequences. The only reason you get wins with your character is because all you have to do is knock your opponent down once to start your stupid vortex. You fish for your knockdowns so hard it isn’t even funny, because once you get it you can just autopilot your way to victory.
So don’t try to talk down on someone’s game when you have A LOT to work on in terms of fundamentals for fighting games in general. Just knowing how to do combos in a game doesn’t make you good by a long shot.
You need to learn to shut up and be humble sometimes.
(Never said I was perfect or really good in super either, so don’t go there)
P.S. Your game plan as stated above works a lot better online than offline. Remember that.
