/cosign. I also have the ASUS V232H model, predecessor to the one the described above. You can’t even tell the difference.
Just do your own research about the “lag” concept. It has to do with more than just one component of the monitor/TV that you purchase and use. Refresh rates, the CPU inside the monitor generating the picture, max frame-rates on the monitor, etc.
It also wouldn’t hurt to do some research on the difference in quality between VGA, SVGA, DVI, and HDMI signals. At the end of the day though, the general consensus among gamers who need top visual performance, ASUS is normally the way to go if you’re not hooking your monitor up to a PC.
I know that’s the tournament standard but I just need one for my room. I don’t plan to run any tournaments in my room hahaha, I just want a good tv that I can practice street fighter on and not have to worry too much about lag.
So there was a panasonic in there, the TC-L32X1 that it said had 0 lag, and they do sell the X2 series still so I may go with that since it’s around 350 and hopefully will be as good as the X1 series.
I bought a 42" Vizio 120hz LED tv. Offline, I have little to no input lag…online… HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I cant play that game online anymore. You’ll see me on Castlevania or Torchlight from now on lol
myself, kryonik, realyst, and tragic all have a similar model of this tv, and i’ve played on 3 of those, and there is no lag, and the picture quality is great i highly recommend it. it is easily your best bet outside of an asus.
Honestly I was in the same boat as you back in November when I was looking for a new TV for my room, doing lots of research to make sure my TV didn’t end up lagging. Turns out that even if a TV his like 5 ms or whatever you won’t notice it because its to so minute that only people with the most godlike of senses will notice and even then I think a lot of people just say TVs lag when they can’t get a combo right. I have 42 inch LG in my room now and I can’t feel or notice any lag, and I haven’t heard any complaints from my friends playing on it.
-I believe the human eye can’t physically see anything lower than 8ms. However the 5ms doesn’t mean your tv won’t have 30+ms lag. There are other variables besides the LCD’s response time that can add ontop of those 5ms, for example singal processing will add to that. It is a good reference to start off with though.
-People will always find something to blame hehe. Lag/Freezing/bad matchups, you name it I’ve heard it hehe.
