Hey figured I would toss this out there again, an open invite to my bi-weekly game nights. They are hosted in one of the academic buildings at The University of Hartford.

If you plan on attending or you are considering it, just send me a PM. I have MvC3 and SSFIV and really I can have as many setups as are needed. I also have a ps2 and sadly only 1 stick for it. Also I bring lots of music games, Pop’n ASC, Beatmania DAO, Taiko drums, ParaPara, and plenty more. Also sometimes Brawl makes a guest appearance to please the masses.
So if anyone wants to go, please make sure you send me a message so I can account for you, there is no venue fee or anything, and if enough people plan on coming for fighting games I can setup a live stream with commentary easily.
Also if you can’t make it until later at night MAKE SURE YOU LET ME KNOW! Public Safety on campus guards the exit and only lets in students and authorized guests, so you need to let me know before hand and I can put your car on the list.

Yo guys, I need some help. So after the tournament last night and me realizing that the TV they had the casuals was set up on that was pretty laggy was actually the same one I have, and after playing on a lagless monitor I have decided to invest in a new TV. I need some recommendations for a nice HDtv. I’ve tried google, all the things are dumb dumb and don’t give me any help. So help? Thanks guys.

If you can try getting an Asus monitor. It is what they use at EVO.

From experience samsungs aren’t that great for non-lag. They’re probably one of the best looking picture wise, but if your concentrating on lag they’re iffy. I’ve probably played on like 3 different samsungs and we even have a 720p 32inch samsung hanging on the wall for people to watch matches. When we had it in the SSF4 cabinet at project-failure, everyone would complain about lag lol. Might want to try and google some lag tests for that model before buying.
For 32inch i’ve heard some good things about the Panasonic Viera series and my 40inch sony bravia has about 1-2 frames of lag also. If you REALLY want to go lag free I’d stick with a PC monitor, like the ASUS VH236H 2ms Full HD Widescreen LCD Monitor or an alienware monitor.
Hmmm, I’ll do the research and see what they say about that model. Thanks though, I didn’t really want to downgrade lower than 28 inches but it seems if I want lag free gameplay then I should just go for the Asus. Thanks Kyriptic.

After a hefty amount of research I settled on this exact TV Needles. Its what I play on now. I play MVC2 and 3 with lots of people and nobody notices lag. Its a great TV/ Monitor, you get the best of both worlds with this actually. Full HD and/or direct input with no post processing.
So this tv is awesome because it comes with a digital decoder if you want to watch an HD signal. but it is also a straight up monitor with no post processing. The only drawback about this TV is the sound. The speakers kinda suck, but are actually decent if you consider they are built in.

So I do really want to stay with TVs only because Monitors are too small, and I guess if there are only 1-2 frames of lag I’ll live, I do 1 frames on this tv with little issue. I’m just debating between the one up there and this one Amazon.com: Panasonic VIERA TC-L32X30 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV: Televisions & Video This is all so confusing to me…I barely know what I’m looking for, googling lag tests just gets me a bunch of Black Ops children crying about how they can’t kill kids fast enough with their modded controllers.
For running tournaments you can not go wrong with an Asus V236h to hard to beat price wise
