I was referring to the amount of dmg he could withstand. Gief is arguably one of the hardest characters to play in SSF4 IMO. He has so many bad match ups.
Also, really debating on quitting MVC3 already. So far I’ve seen no signs of it being a truly strong competitive game. All I see is random bull crap that people do and just get lucky. X Factor is honestly too strong and its because of the strength of x factor, that this game becomes random. At the end, it really is a flip of the coin or a roll of the dice. Anything can happen at the end and all it takes is one decent combo and you’re back in it. 170% DMG increase? That’s nearly double your original dmg. Thats absurd.
That right there is where the fun. “Anything can happen”. Do you want to play a game where it is always one sided?

Idiocy. If the game truly is a coin flip then if you and I fought 10 matches, chances are that you would win 5 or so.
I don’t agree that this game boils down to coin flip at all. I can prove it. Fight me for ten matches DJ. You will most likely lose 9 out of 10 if not 10 out of 10.

@raion, if you are clearly better than the other person, it can get boring real fast. What I am getting at is say JWong and Sanford did a FT15 MM and one match Jwong is just crushing Sanford. Sanford has half health with one character and comes back to win. That builds hype. Its not broken otherwise it wouldnt be in the game. I love Xfactor. Its a “GAME CHANGER”. not a broken tool.
It IS fun. Definitely. The game is really fun and intense. But when “anything can happen” where I have MINIMAL control over that against certain cast members when they reach lvl 3 X Factor (Wesker, Jill, Akuma, Phoenix, Magneto) I really don’t want to put money on how lucky I can be. When top level players say that playing random against Dark Phoenix is a viable strategy that is a sign that we should all start looking at each other and really take a second look at this game.
LOL. You’re not that good at this game. I will definitely go even with, or beat you. It’s not difficult to be good or decent at this game. Because it’s random and mashy.
Kryonik: I honestly think you don’t read things. When you talk about damage at the end of the round an additional average boost of nearly double what you normally would do is HUGE.
To be more clear, we all know X was made for the scrubs. Why else would it be in this game? Good players don’t drop combos and know like a 630K-800K damaging BNB combo. So for a good player to land a hit its a quick death most likely because at the end of the match near the 20-30 second mark in most cases health is pretty avg or low amongst all characters. Some cases, not…but most? Yes.
All i’m saying is that I think this game is mashy, random, and too overpowered.

and I’m just like, really? random combos and crap get you a win at the highest level of play? Cool. Floe is obviously miles ahead of Codylicious and he gets lucky random crap and takes a game. Now imagine this against average tournament players playing one another.
