Ok I’ll experiment with my issue and see if I can replicate my issue.
Get back to you later.

It was easier in super b/c you could just mash all of the punish buttons like 1,2,3 Now you gotta hit the right button, but you gotta mash turbo style lmao It’s that little window right after both of his feet touches the ground.

VVolfster… when I look at this video again Ken turned the wrong way, and there was no reversal input. So, it’s kinda hard to say what would have happened on revesal, the angle suggests you would have more than likely traded at the worst.

Not sure with the loose inputs if he should have gotten srk but technically he hit the hp button on the forward motion, not down forward, which should make Ken attempt a hadouken. From the way Ken’s body reels back slightly before VVolfster even hits him, it looks like he was starting to wind up for a fireball. Bad Ken. Sit!

The last few fights in that vid are with delfinator and he is looking beasty!

Pause the last few frames, he hit him in the sweet spot and turned him the wrong way, you will see the red flames from the dp too.

The scenario we see in the video , is sort of like the “zero point” meaning earlier stuffs fronside, safe jump etc , later timing gets the whiffs , if the timing on canceling to kick is played with you can get very interesting results. In fact instead of fdash after throw , try pixel walk with late cancel to kick, way more reliable…

Im glad to see folks are realizing the power of gflip and believing in it more, Goukens should take flight more often during matches …lol :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yeah, but the strange thing is he didn’t do it as a reversal, so he did it late. When I normally see that happen its off of reversal.

@ :45 or so that exact scenario is where you need to play around with 3 things , timing it so you land crossup, frontside , are u timing for flip throw in which case you need to wait a bit longer before canceling to throw…

important note:

***Gouken Fun Fact # 107 ***if you do exglfip from crouch, you gain a few frames advantage as the ex flip starts “auto-tracking” later than from standing and looks deceptive as hell but if you let slide come out you can still manage to land frontside with an unexpected and nicely placed sweep.
So practice f,d,f,d+ any kick or k+K , as it causes a significant pause and when done in response to wakup pressure creates a noticeably different boomerang-like arc which fakes crossup and lands frontside, due to the delayed release of the gflip and the auto-track properties it posseses.

@ :52 or a bit earlier that particular scenario resulted in him reading your fireball or zoning tendencies, he sees you use it up close yet u rely on it too much for offensive purposes , he therefore feels like you will almost always use it up close(my bad habit here is I tend to kongo where you use hadou, both are poor knee-jerk reactions).
I beg you to instead to fo4rsee and anticipate this scenario in the future ahead of time by reading your opponents more and get better at it , because I use it (hadous, from time to time )defensively in the SAME situations only I’m anticipating THAT particular Juri reaction.
So I setup earlier by taking control of the CADENCE as early as possible by staying “random”.
Bottom line for @:52 make it so that you can have a buffered kongo as a response or kongo absorb>punish in the future.

@ 1:22-23If you were reading ur opponent better you would have used j.mp here instead of the random misreading fashion u did earlier 1st round with j.mp.
Likewise if you were Skyakuma aka Dek09 you would always buffer j.mp>tatsu like a “G” for max damage

@ 1:35 U waited too long for gflip and or used mk flip, Gouken always locksdown after U1 with pxl>hk glfip later than normal (so cancel to kick at like 1 or 2 o’ clockish) kick cancel or just play with the timings to see how many beneficial scenarios you can create.

@ 1:46 or please note 2 things: by using lo-kongo you trigger a jump-in,and

  1. you start to regain momentum by dictating control of the matches cadence although weakly at this point, because after you should have
  2. kongoed after his 2nd jump-in at 1:49

Also notice how about 3 exchanges later you baited a jump- in and punished w tatsu? you could have triggered this reaction earlier…

after 1:53’s knockdown you could bait reversal reaction wheelkicks with gflip parry>punich , as the mentality at this point is almost always to angrily and aggressively respond with srk like madness from the opponents,

@ 1:58 slide-kara hadous will make up lost ground and will require less fb’s as opponents tend to jump at weird times when they see these, u can thus buffer ex tat or kongo etc.

by 3rd round onset , your instant EX IAT would be a surprising attack and based on the oponents reaction to a momentary pause EX IAT fits perfectly here as you could imagine.
just some quick observations…

oh and by 2:13 use lp palm instead and anticipate the jump in reaction and respond with back dj.hk…

now can someone I respect or otherwise do something similar for my recent vid posts?

I’m not sure whether this warrants another thread, but Gootecks seems to be looking for help in regards to Gouken.

If this is the wrong place for it, apologies in advance.

The sighs of frustration make me chuckle in recognition

Why don’t they just. Con.e to us instead. Of trying to rewrite it…their way…!

Putting my youtube account to good use, finally. Just starting to learn Gouken and every stun makes the pain worth it.

Vid1-Sagat
I think every jump in you landed ended in you getting a tiger uppercut to the jaw…if you see your opponent constantly being rewarded with his reversal at that specific moment…block. When he lands, punish his ass for getting sloppy. Don’t just wimpy grab either. Full cl.st.fp > ex palm > kill kill kill. He’ll rethink mashing reversals when you are close after a while. Sometimes when I’m off my links, I land a jump in > cl.st.mk…and back dash, kongo, or crouch tech. Gouken can really mess with his opponent’s head.

Vid2-Dudley
Your use of st.fp was very good to throw Dudley off his game. Now, add in dive kick pressure. After a hard knockdown, dudley is suspect on wake up except for his ex uppercut which can be baited anyway. You will really step up your game if you work on your wake up pressure.

Vid3-Sakura
Again…pressure her after sweep! She’s going to pressure you so give it back to her. Also, maybe it was laggy but you missed some big punish moments. If youa re having a hard time punishing with cl.st.fp, do cr.fp…it is faster and isn’t that much less damage…much better than missing your punish

Only thing I can say here is that you need to AA more. I saw one and that was that EX Tatsu versus that Gen. Cant block in the air…free damage.

You destroyed that first Gen though lol

Yeah, I do need to EX Tatsu more… When I think about all of my losses, the one thing they have in common is didn’t defend the jump in too well. I like to have meter for EX Palm / Flip / Kongo so sometimes I don’t even worry about AA’ing with EX Tatsu not unless I can win the round or if I have another meter built.

I missed some hit confirms too… but that’s neither here or there.

I think Gouken handles Gen pretty well as long as you forget about trying to Kongo him. Gen has to win this match up by out-poking Gouken. It’s not to Gen’s benefit to be doing alot of wall jumps etc. in this match. Gouken can shoot him down, and punish is recovery with sweep or mp/hp > any palm. He get’s back thrown too.

…and gouken plays keep away pretty well, and yes you do have to give up thoughts of kongo for sure with his wonky jump arc.
i love stuffing his upkicks ex and all…

nice saqs match too!

I play Yeb alot and he out footsies me alot. He buffers into hands and its like impossible to poke him. Plus Gen has that crazy far reaching sweep. He also does this crossup off the wall dive kick that I just cant block man. Its the one that flies across you and then comes back to hit you…but it crosses up on your wakeup. So you think you’ve got it blocked because you seen him just fly passed you and come back and then you’re combo’d. The way Im describing it, it sounds easy to block, its not lol.

DUDE! ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have at least one bar of meter just for this situation…try doing ex flip towards the wall he is coming off of but end your motion forward/back, not down-forward or down-back. You will get flip if he’s front side or even better, ex tatsu if he’s crossing up. I haven’t had this fail me yet in this particular set up.
