Copy THIS! The Taskmaster thread!

Did tasky could (can?) follow horizontal Legion Arrow with XF Legion Arrow from full screen in vanilla? I just did it last night (Ultimate) with XF3 out of desperation but I was sure it was impossible

So as I’ve said before, I’m playing an odd, but super solid team of Zero/Nova(b)/Task, and I gotta say, By far my favorite parts of any match are when Zero successfully does his job (OCV) or the rest of the game when Task jumps in. I don’t like having a middle man, is that odd? Guess it comes from TvC.

Either way, I’ve been suggested to play Zero/Dante/Task for even more super solid play, but I hate Dante. Combos are too long for not enough damage, and if not on point, he gets nothing done either way. (Jam Session is damn good though.)

I’m rambling here, anyways, I’m liking taskmaster more and more every time I use him, His assist isn’t too useful for Combo extension, but it’s very useful for covering an approach, even making a reset. I’ve especially loved the abillity to hit low, j.:l:, XF, and Immediately kill a character. He’s too strong, even on his own. Sadly, he gets lamed out if you’re not good enough with him (Gotta improve my Zoning) but his cr.:m: and j.:h: are my new best friends.

Idea’s of characters that work with Zero/Task? I want to try Task as a secondary, but Would need an anchor that not only helps both of them, but if Task needed XF, I don’t want the Anchor to be “Doomed”

I haven’t given up on Nova, especially with that raw power, but Pocket Char’s are always useful.
So far I’ve tried: Ammy, Sent, Doom (no.), Trish, Wesker, Vergil, Ghost Rider (why not), Akuma, and Spencer.

Poor you, Task/Dante can set up Unblockable with 2 bars for almost guaranteed kill with XF which is cool.

Also free unblockables with Jam Session in the corner (unblockable setup midscreen, can be pushblocked though), guranteed with THC.

Jam Session Covers Shield Skills very well, allowsh im to convert off shield skills/shock sting. And augments his zoning really well with the Jam Session pushback I <3 Taskmaster with Jam Session, so goood.

Zero/Task/Dante or Zero/Dante/Task are the way to go, both of them are very good, and Dante/Task have BFF synergy.

You can use Sent for Drones for getting in with Zero and zoning with Taskmaster.

I believe I have found a use for Sword Master. simply do Sword Master. once they pushblock throw out Sting master. if they press a button they get Stung.

Even without Sent or Vergil It’s something

<3 those Sword Normals and Shield Skills, crM is also pretty godlike, the hitbox seems to come out before the hurtbox. The Sword normals have the same hitboxes as they do on screen too.

Honzo, this is good and all, but are you READY for the 8v8 SoCal/NorCal grudge match?

no we are gunna lose

I put in a few hrs with Doom Task before and after the missile pick up, you can do mighty swing xx charged arrows and I think because too much HSD hasnt kicked in, you can do shield skills xx sting master and this does more damage than just sword master xx shield skills xx sting master

I’m pretty sure someone else has already discovered this, but here’s a neat little trick I found recently.

If you do a spidey swing, then towards the end, shoot a single legion arrow, if it hits, you can perform a dash and go straight into Shield Skills for a full combo. This works from full screen as long the opponent is on the ground. This works from an entire screen’s length away. However since Taskmaster is technically in the air during Spidey Swing, the arrow will not hit anyone shorter than Frank West. I haven’t quite managed to find a good way to land this during a match yet, but I’m working on it.

I believe a good example of this was when Josh Wong played him awhile ago.

It starts at 5:46.

It’s not quite like that what I found. You have to let the swing travel farther, and only fire one arrow. I’m not too sure how to control the swing’s angle (Making it go higher or lower than normal. Silly scrubby me) but I’m thinking that could somehow make it be able to hit shorter characters, or penetrate whiffing Hulks or Sentinels with multiple hits. Landing an arrow with from such little swing time, would require the opponent to be much closer. You need to let the swing carry for longer if you want to hit from full screen.

Any tips on what I should be doing for the neutral game? From playing others, it seems like hanging back, zoning with arrows and j.S, c.M for footsies, and dashing in for opportunities seems to work, but I wouldn’t mind more tips.

Shield skills into a lockdown assist is a very powerful tool for turning the offence onto your side. With a slow-ending assist you can turn any footsies thing into a crapton of pressure with swings and such. When you’re near them or have them cornered, they then have to worry about being thrown, which you are very capable on inserting into both pressure and defence.

Also, I think this might just be me, but cr.M is so awesome, people seem to neglect st.M, which is absolutely amazing for footsies.

That’s all I got. Seems to do okay for me, though. Swing-cancelling I have for a few sneaky throw mixups, but other than that I haven’t found an application of it into footsies. My friends jab and throw a lot, I find it’s better to just catch them with normals then to do anything fancy that could get smacked. Someone’s probably gonna tell me I’m crazy and wrong and that swing cancelling is the greatest thing ever and it should be used all the time. I’m actually hoping for it, then I get some cool uses of it.

Taskmaster has the best :m: normals in marvel.

Sentinel says hi. His air limbs are too good, but I’d probably say that Tasky’s cr. :m: is one of the best in the game.

Sentinel can kiss my air :h: all day.
