I play Task anchor, but I wouldn’t call myself good
If you have a lockdown assist you can go for Sword Master. Otherwise You can always pepper them with chip.
Assist, H Arrows, L Arrows.
No idea who runs Tasky last. I am of the thought process that he CAN anchor but I feel he does his best work with at least 1 assist.
Taskmaster’s attack/throw mixup isn’t bad, which is good because his high/low mixup is basically nonexistent outside lockdown assist fuzzies.
HonzoGonzo, DJHuoshen, Combofiend occasionally, and Moons when Ammy magically dies.
I find that Taskmaster is at his best as an Anchor. He has one of the best X-Factors in the game, so if you can land a good punish or two with Air Legion, that can easily take out a character. That’s my strategy with him at any rate.
I play Taskmaster on anchor, on point, or in the middle, depending on my mood and what I’m fighting against. I have experience playing him at all points, I think.
On anchor, you need to pop x-factor to combo off of throws or random sting masters. That sucks. Sure, in X-Factor, he can do pretty well! But most people can, that’s not much of a statement. I’m okay with anchoring him, my team works better that way if I’m leading Amaterasu, but to say he’s better as an anchor than anywhere else is… Not really true, lol.
I personally prefer Taskmaster on anchor although he’s the second character on my team. I run Nova Task Spencer for DHC into Task from Nova but when Nova dies, I try to get in Spencer so he can use Taskmaster arrows. Usually after a kill with Nova DHC into Taskmaster I run him on point until he hits about half life because Task Nova Spencer = 1OO% kills. So yeah basically what Stark said…he’s good all over.
I like him best in second. I’m not one to be stingy with meter when I play him, so I like to have that insurance if someone jumps my arrows.
Anchor is debatable. This is nothing new, but I really feel he needs assists to truly shine. He’s not scary on his own.
I agree with you but in my case…Spencer on anchor…or Taskmaster? lol. We all know SOME players make Spencer work on anchor…I can if i HAVE to but Taskmaster can control the pace a lot better in my opinion and he has the option of laming out if he’s last with a life lead. I think it all depends on the structure of the team. Taskmaster with xfactor is just about as retarded as everyone else though lol
You people and your playing similar teams to me
Shouts out to dougiie for preferring Task anchor to Spencer anchor, though.
Lol, I won’t lie…you and Duck Strong are the reasons why I decided to just put Task and Spencer together in vanilla. I thought I was cool with my Spencer on anchor but then you meet people that actually know how to block and you learn Taskmaster is the better anchor
I’ve always Wanted to be good enough with Taskmaster to play him Second. Especially now with Udon Tasky.
But Anchor is where he stays for now. I’m trying to figure out what combo to use in XF3 that will guarantee me 1.2mil without a chance of the combo failing.
My guess so far is depending on what you used to get in (In My case I guess cr.:l:, st., st.:h: to/or
:h:) is :s:, j:m:, j.:h:, Swing, j.
, j.:h:, :s: :d::df::f::uf::h: (Full), :d::df::f:+:m::h:
I’d Test this now, but I’m not home and won’t be for a few days
Try this combo:
crLMH , Mighty Swing x2, jH xx M arrows, stMH, Shield Skills, stS, jMMH Mighty Swing jM S (1.1mil~ damage, and converts into infinite after the M arrows)
Works in both XF2 and XF3, and just tested it on Sent/Vergil/Coon, so I assume it’s universal, and the timing is pretty lenient, if it doesnt kill just do Super. I assume someone else has more efficient combos though.
This. Anytime I land a Stingmaster or throw or counters and have no chance at a follow up its an immediate legion arrows.
What about Anchor? Having XF, and not having XF, Task is hard to Solo open people up.
That’s when it just comes down to footies. Taskmaster can catch people off guard if they’re not blocking low or if they forget the range on his standing M. Also, you can set up some frame traps (at least i think it would be a frame trap. I’m not very technical) by cancelling a blocked webswing into a M arrow and then going into low L and continue block strings. He has cross ups and fake cross ups off of sting master too. I personally play more of a zoning game and going in randomly to open people up.
That’s the biggest flaw of Task Anchor, and why he should be played on point/second. Although he is solid, the only way he can open people up is with air or ground grabs or clipping someone with a crL or crM, everything else loses to pushblock(fuzzy guard setups/unblockables). Basically you have to be a better player than your opponent to run it back with him in the back. Now if this was any other game it’d be ok, but this is Marvel 3 where you can mash on buttons with certain anchors and win.
I agree. I still think with precise placement of normals along with good reads and shifting momentum between slow/zoning to rushdown he can be effective. Specially with well places supers for chip/wasting xfactor time. I guess I grew to appreciate anchor task because having anchor Spencer for me is just a gimmick. I personally think Task is best second though. Assist + great DHC character that can DHC from basically anyone at most positions. ALSO, if your real point character is a good assist, you can run Task on point with that assist + your anchor assist too and if u get uncomfortable, just bring back in your character from before.
So then perhaps I should Keep my order (Zero/Nova/Task) but overall when I can, DHC into Task, and let Nova anchor?
Yeah that sounds pretty smart. Try it out and see how it goes for you.
