:l: = horizontal, :l::h: = diagonal,
:h: = vertical.
I was thankfully able to figure it out on my own yesterday, but thanks anyway! I appreciate it.
So when dhcing to task at point blank, lets say from million dollars in corner, what is the most damaging ;vertical horizontal or parabolic?
Midscreen the best DHC is parabolic after the last hit of million dollars.
Corner though, Up arrows do a lot of damage, but are very finicky in terms of hitting, and they can easily whiff leaving you there to be punished. It’s better to whiff the last hit of million dollars in the corner and go into Straight Horizontal Arrows.
I’m making the solid transition from my Deadpool (a) /Tasky (a) /Doom (b) team to a more well rounded Taskb(a) /Dorm (a) /Doom (b) team. I finally learned Taskmaster’s new bread and butter (the one with the medium arrow relaunch) and I end it in the air with the down arrow hyper or tac to easily synergize with Dorm.
However, the reason I do this simple combo ender is because I can’t do the dark hole and hidden missiles combo extensions in the corner. Any advice for this?
Also, how do you guys utilize dark hole assist in the neutral game for taskmaster? Thanks.
After I end in the corner with Tasky’s BnB, assuming I ended an air combo with :s:, I do the following - back dash, Dorm Dark Hole assist, F+:h:xx:qcf::h:(no charge) OTG, :h:, :qcf::s:, Neutral Jump, :qcf::h:(charge) xx:qcf:
:h:, Dorm DHC.
Yesterday I was at a tourney with actually good people in it for the first time in seven months. Being as rusty as I was I decided to keep track of how many times I dropped combos for each of my characters, to look at what I especially needed to practice to avoid nerves breaking me apart at evo. I ended up taking third after dropping exactly zero Task combos. Yaaaaay
Any vids? I’d love to see your Tasky in action.
I don’t know! I know loser’s semis (which I won) and loser’s finals (which I lost) were played on the recording station, so there is video of it, but the internet at the facility was too weak to stream so I have no archive to link, and I don’t know what yt channel those tourneys get uploaded to…
What do you guys use as an air-to-air with Taskmaster? Say I’m out of air-grab range and I want to start a combo from normal jump height on an airborne opponent, what would you go swinging with?
still usually j.:h: for its hitbox, trying to confirm to j.:f::h: j. j.:h: j.:qcf:

I am new to fighting games and just started 2 weeks ago. Thx to windu and stark i got taskmaster’s combo down. My problem now is techniques so…
How do you play taskmaster?
how to get in, how to zone. Any tips and tricks about taskmaster PLEASE
You get in using assists while rushing down with his amazing normals (cr. :l:, cr. , st. :h:). Also, learn the ranges/frame advantage of your opponents common moves, find a hole and just dash up and strike.
Zoning is really easy with Tasky because of his versatility of his arrow directions. Having a projectile assist, means that you’ll be firing angled shots most of the time. Of course, if you run Magneto or Hawkeye, then you can occasionally throw your own horizontal arrows at them for nasty chip damage.
I’d probably say that to “get in” with task is more of frustrating them with your zoning that they rush in with massive careless mistakes. Some nice gimmicks with Taskmaster are the block string by doing some crouching/standing normal into shield skills canceled into a partial charged Aim Master :l:. If done correctly two things happen : 1 - They cannot jump out or interrupt you, and 2 - You’ll be left at frame advantage (+1) meaning that if they press a button against Tasky’s Almighty cr. :l:, more likely than not they’ll get hit (unless you’re Ammy or Wolverine). There is also the Sting Master block string instead of the arrows (much easier) BUT, you’re left at disadvantage (-3) and if you press a button and your opponent has a far reaching normal/armored normal, you get combo’d.
One last thing at the top of my head is the swing cancels as a pressure tool (it negates advancing guard if done properly) which I believe is done using, (some normal(s) into :f: :h: xx Aim Master :l: or full charge) when blocked. What happens is that you use the swing’s momentum to lunge forward with the intentional whiff of your arrows to help you move real close (with slight advantage) because you recover when you reach the ground when attempting/firing the arrows in the air, but since you whiffed them really close to the ground, you really have almost no recovery and stay close to your opponent.
Just consider that if they do not push block, they got free air throw on you.
Hi everyone, I’m new to Taskmaster and I have a couple of questions about his counter specials.
Is there any way to combo off of them? It seems like they knock the enemy too far away to be of any use besides creating some distance, which I suppose is a good thing for Task anyway. But it would be nice if I could master some BnB off a counter or something
Is there anything special I should know about what moves can and can’t be countered? I know L counters high and mid, M counters low and mid and H counters projectiles, and none of them work on throws. Can they counter assists too? Are there any normal attacks that will beat them out?
Yes. Off of Shield Master L, M, and Aegis Counter youhold up. Immediately when Tasky jumps you input legion arrow L+H. Otherwise I prep for chip damage. Ill try this later and see if you can spider swing xx aim master m/h(which otg) + assist to pick’em up and get a sting master into legion arrows m+h
I can’t get that damn swing momentum to go back. Basically swing forward then arrows which fakes a cross up.
I’m trying Task out myself, and honestly he’s the most fun I’ve had combo wise. but my biggest issues are resets/set-ups. Getting in isn’t hard, but creating a good enough mix-up to open someone up is not easy at alll.
Any tips?
His best mix up is using Fuzzy Guard instant overheads along with Assists. Basically you set them up with jH or jS + a lockdown assist, this will set up a fuzzy guard(The opponent’s Hitbox will always be standing even if they are crouching) where you can mix it up with crL for a low or jM for instant overhead vs half of the cast you can do jMHS for and get a full combo afterwards, vs some of the smaller chars like Ammy you can’t instant overhead at all and vs certain characters you need assists to follow up. You can set up fuzzy guards solo and confirm vs the taller characters solo, but they can pushblock it to avoid the mixup.
You can see the definition here:
“Fuzzy Guard: When a character Blocks an attack High and then switches to a Low guard, although they are blocking Low, the game does not change the size of their hittable box from standing to crouching until the Block Stun ends. This means they can still be hit with attacks that would Whiff if they were crouching normally.”
Other setups are the basic crL into tick grab or crL into chain instead of grabbing. Jumping and doing mighty swing + assist then cancelling into qcfH arrows to crossup. And if your assists support it you can use Taskmaster’s unblockable and confirm using super or Xfactor.
Who are some notable Task anchors? Like who are some good players who run Task 3rd? I’d like to watch some matches.
