Im not sure that this is the appropriate thread but I’d like to discuss aegis counter and its DHC follow ups.
My team is task/spencer/doom so the best i can do is bionic maneuvers > sphere flame which nets a decent 600k+ damage or bionic arm> otg > bionic arm up legion arrows > down legion arrows for 800k ish (i feel that investing 5 whole meters is a bit of an overkill though).
In my attempts to gain some extra meter i tried setting up a ghetto “dhc glich” of sorts but aegis counter seems to eat up so much hitstun that they tend to recover before i can do anything significant for example i dhced into weskers counter super afterwards and did an otg gun into c. s. :h: > :qcf: < :h: teleport> j. :s: c.enemy recovers so i guess that didnt achieve much either.
For my team i guess this is as far as i can go, but what about you dante/vergil/zero/ect players who have task on their teams? while the power up supers stop meter gain maybe you can get more damage for less meter?
from what it feels like, i think taskmaster got some nerfs not listed in the official changelists or whatever.
the big two that i’ve noticed are that his wavedash feels way way slower (his dash doesnt cover a lot of distance now) and shield charge’s hitbox being slightly nerfed so it trades more often.before it’d beat out air normals clean but now it’s prone to losing to shit like wesker j.s which is really infuriating…
Well. I don’t wavedash much, but it doesn’t really feel slower when I do. And Charging Stars still seems to have a fantastic hitbox that doesn’t seem to trade with anything more than it used to to me. So I dunno what to tell you.
Tasky wavedash is really slow after using in battle a few time… it’s odd because Spidey’s is so fast, then when Tasky comes in it feels like I’m driving a tank haha
I haven’t noticed anything different about charging star except the distance buff

Shout outs to Moon for getting top 12 at NEC with Task on point. I’ve been looking for a solid Task bnb since ultimate came out and his bnb works perfectly for me.
It’s funny, I never really thought my Taskmaster was very good, but recently I decided he’s probably my best character, I just never noticed because my other characters were so broken. Now that Taskmaster was not only not nerfed, but buffed, I’m starting to see how he fits my style really well.

Thanks man. Kind of fell off after qualifiers with the break before top 16 and played too conservative. I picked up the BnB (credit Duck Strong’s or Stark for the relaunch? can’t remember.) as soon as ultimate came since the old mighty swing one featuring arrows didn’t work anymore. I actually do a sj. light after the launcher in tournaments since it’s much more consistent and doesn’t really change anything damage wise.
Yeah I like using jab too, otherwise the timing is character dependent. I’m having trouble connecting j.L,mighty swing on people in the corner though. Superjumping backwards helps a bit but its still a bit finicky on smaller characters.
Just picked up tasky and was wondering how you guys approach and generate pressure. Ive just been fishing w/ dash shield xx sting on block, full/mid screen dash swing xx m arrow cancel, j.h/j.s, or dash cr.l
Also besides the relaunch combo are there any other combos i should learn? I saw honzogonzos bnb so going to prac that tonight
yeah, the corner is a little more difficult. I do it visually so I can’t tell you the timing right now, but I’m sure it involves delaying the H and arrows a bit. RR is the hardest character to do the combos consistently on.
Well. I don’t feel it’s that character dependent with the j.m. I haven’t had people fall out when it wasn’t like “well I obviously screwed that up, is the reason.” I dunno though, I don’t really fight shrimps that often (except RR) so I could be totally wrong about that, but I certainly can do the same timing against like wolvie/zero as against thor.
RR I’m like, yeah all my good combos are hard, but he has 750k, so I just do basic stuff and he dies anyway. It’s honestly not that big a deal~
I haven’t gotten around to posting this and I’ve only really seen me doing it, but you can combo off Taskmaster’s air throw with a lot more characters in this game using the mighty swing cancel. Things that I’ve tested that definitely work are Akuma tatsu assist (worked in last game), Plasma Beam, Triple Arrow, and Firebrands lockdown assist or whatever. This means a ton of other assists work as well.
