Copy THIS! The Taskmaster thread!

Stark made a combo video where he ended with downward Aim Master into diagonal Legion Arrows, and I’ve stolen it because it will let you DHC into pretty much anything without losing any damage.

She, but regardless, I’m actually using a somewhat stronger combo now. I just recorded it to post in this thread.

The post-DHC part is specific to my team, but even without that it very nearly hits 1.05m, and that brings it over 1.1m.

So can task’s y assist be used as an OTG?

Nope. The arrow will hit, but they immediately roll when that happens.

That’s simply beautiful. I didn’t know you could relift in that spot with spencer, I usually end up doing the DHC glitch. More damage but more meter…

How do you deal with zoning heavy teams with your team? Magneto with doom/dormammu, those kind of assists… I stopped running taskmaster/spencer because those matchups destroy both of them :-/

Well, my usual lead is Amaterasu, and she’s my preferred character for fighting against zoning, sorry! But if I lose her early and am forced to run Spencer/Task alone, I do want to have Task out. My general strategy then is to try to counter zoning with air mobility and arrows to poke at them while trying to dance around zoning attempts. My ultimate goal is to connect a volley of arrows to a Legion Arrow and DHC to Bionic Maneuvers, but it is pretty shaky.

why is it sometime some hyper that can’t otg does such as ryu, deadpool

Because the downward air versions of those moves can? Also, if they just did a ground bounce, it can look like they are doing an OTG when they aren’t.

i am talk about if you do task M+H hyper in corner sometimes other character that don’t have otg hyper for DHC connects

Hey Tasky’s, I’d like to understand the general gameplan a task player is looking to do. I’m not really conceptualizing his ways to create high/low left right mixups without an airdash/tri-jump type stuff or just lack of overall speed in general. How do you guys get that first “hit”? Is it all based on assists or can he create these openings himself? I’m just finding myself just doing air arrows, fishing for launchers to swing combos.

Taskmaster on point really does rely on a good assist. Because he is relatively easily cornered by the stronger rushdown characters, you’re going to find yourself “in a world of hurt” quickly if you aren’t either A. outplaying your opponent by a wide margin, or B. mashing on Tron or Haggar.

Good example is Wolverine. If the wolverine is smart, and has an intelligent rushdown assist to support him, even straight off the bat there is literally nothing you can do but “get out of his mix up”, IE you have to read between invincible cross up into charge or air grab, a strong 50/50 for nothing. Because Taskmaster’s air mobility is somewhat lacking, there are many ways for Wolverine to abuse your lack of options and make you guess safely. With no “get off me” assist, I previously was forced to block for 10-20 seconds intelligently, even if my opponent was playing sloppily.

This being said, absolutely any character that isn’t a strong rushdown is probably Taskmaster’s advantage. With an assist like Tron or Haggar, probably has no bad matchups.

got a question task users if ur zoning with task which is better single double or triple arrows or is mixing them up better, ALSO when do u think is the best time to start zoning pressure with task.

I’ve found personally that im spamming the triple arrows because they beat most projectiles coming but im finding it hard to keep up with faster projectile users like mag for example

Triple arrows for sure.Theres no need for anything else. Triple arrows dont just have more durability, they also make it easier to hit confirm into Legion arrows as you can see the first one hit and just fire away.

i agree, but im starting to see a trend the more i watch high level task play…the high level tourny players are mixing up the arrows this is what kinda intrigued me…aside from the durability and the hit-confirm do you think there are any more pro’s to the move…also which do you think is better for rushdown horizontal arrows or verticle…im currently using verticle arrows

Vertical arrows.

I find myself wasting clock time with task master super jump into air H arrows with chris assist gunfire. Lots of people love air dash attacking. Does Shield master counter this or should I go for Aegis counter?

Every time I land shield master it’s free chip damage.

Whats the timing on the air :h: aim master charge into :b::h:? I could never do it…

Are you referring to the down arrows to otg into shield skills?

If so, jump straight up, as soon as you descend, do the input and all three arrows should come out.

I could get the arrows to come out, but I cant link the shield skills for some reason, any specific timing for it?

It’s kind of a tight timing, that’s all. If you’re too low with the arrows, they won’t be popped up right, and if you’re too high, you don’t have enough time to land and get it. But it’s still not so hard when you get it down.
