Copy THIS! The Taskmaster thread!

Lmfao I’m down, as long as you put a blue taskmaster and a black dante on my one, alright?

Ah, I was watching the Socal one. Thumbs up for no magic series.

Don’t worry David I got it! =]

Taskmaster just keeps getting better and better. Some things I found in training mode myself today(I use Task,Haggar,Doom):

1.You can combo shield skills off task’s air throw if you land it high enough. If you can get 3 vertical arrows to connect after the air throw then you can combo shield skills into a magic series combo in the air which gets you just underneath one meter.

**2. Guard master is actually godlike and I think it will be one of the things that TM players will want to learn if they want to take their pressure to the next level. You can confirm into arrow super every time, or you can confirm into XFC into double spidey swing BNB for massive damage.

You can also perform MVC2 style guard breaks on characters coming in after a death.I use the Haggar lariat assist to keep them in place then just do guard master L into whatever.Perfect anti phoenix strategy.**

3.I found a 740,000 damage meterless combo with Doom beam assist.

4.Akumas H. Tatsu is safe on block eh? Push block the first hit, then use L counter/aegis counter the next hit.Stop him from getting away with that shit.

5.You can shield skills Mags EM disruptor and punish him with Super before he recovers.Cant be done on reaction because Shield skills isnt invincible on startup but if you can predict one you can blast right through them.

Some/all of this stuff may have already been found but I’m just so happy how great the character is turning out.He literally has everything(lives up to the character story I guess). I like that Capcom has made a really cool and badass character really good for once, unlike my main in SSFIV (Guy).

If phoenix airdashes, haggar wont catch her :[

don’t suppose you’d mind sharing?

I think we both misread him. I thought he was complaining about people doing the bread-and-butter combos and saying that it’s scrubby. Instead, I think he’s saying that all he sees is Tasks doing wimpy A, B, C magic series.

At least I think that’s what he’s saying.

Yes, do share!

That is what I’m saying. Get a couple o’ swings in there at least.

Also, I’m not a fan of running Task as anchor, which many were doing. Even if Task does really beefy damage, he cannot open anyone up that isn’t a giant. I guess he has decent chip damage potential, but it can be avoided pretty easily when task does not have an assist. Also, I think he’s pretty easy to run away from without an assist so that X-factor is going to do even less. This is just a matter of opinion/taste though so I can’t fault anyone for running him in that position. ABC, Shield Skills, Launch is something that I can fault someone for.

Actually, Taskmaster is fine as an anchor. His frame advantage on all of his moves in Level 3XFC is incredible, which sets up ridiculous tick grabs. Hitting any grab confirms into grab > super, which does an unbelievable 7-800kish, and fast, so you don’t lose much XFC time. Arrows chip is like 100k every set of 3 arrows.

He’s actually pretty scary, and doesn’t realistically have many 1v1 bad matchups.

You just do the bread and butter in the corner.OTG them in the corner with H air arrows(just doing one arrow to pick them up off the ground is easier here, getting all three is harder but does more damage of course) and call out Doom beam assist just before they hit. Then do shield skills to juggle them, do S super jump then air S (one air S is all you can juggle with due to hitstun decay). Before you hit the ground you can do one last H arrows into super. This combo builds like 1 3/4 bars which is why I called it meterless, but you do have to use the super at the end for that damage.

Damn.Ah well.Theres probably ways to counter her airdash aswell so it’ll become a mixup as to what option you use.

any help with rushdown charchters? my team is task/zero/dorm ive been using the usual standing medium jump hard back hard into light arrows for the push back and counter high shield are they any dirty tricks with the web swing cross ups?

Web swing is awfully unsafe on block, so any setup you might think will only work against ppl who don’t know the matchup. They can jab you out pretty much any web swing on block and start a combo from there. Also, taskmaster’s crossups are generally nonexistant/hard to combo out of.

With the team you have, you have no defense vs rushdown other than good zoning. Any good rushdown team will destroy Taskmaster on point. Your best bet is probably to hold P1 when the match starts to put in Zero, if you see a rushdown point. Otherwise you’re gonna need a defensive assist like Haggar’s Lariat, Tron’s flamethrower, etc.

And 1000Dolla, how do you tick grab with Taskmaster? Whenever I try it, it will do webswing/shield charge. It seems like tasmaster’s ground grab range is awfully short. Even when I try to grab on wakeup/empty jump, it will pretty much always go for the swing.

And finally… I’m getting really frustrated with playing Taskmaster online. Even with friends who live nearby, the lag is bad enough that his BnB is basically unusable. I’m starting to think this game wasn’t made to be played online :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, and go die in a fire, Magneto.

Web swing is fine on block if used at the maximum distance. Especially with an assist covering it, you can get stuff off of it. But point blank, no, it’s terrible.

I’ve found that its basically a mind game.People can anti air you if you press buttons after the swing. If you press nothing though you can block.

taskmaster has pretty solid crossups with both j.H and j.S and you can easily combo after them

its hard to do solo but with assists its hella good

and yes NEVER do webswing point blank. against people who actually know how to fight Task, you die that way. Its better when point blank to just shield skills->A charged arrows.

however if near corner, shield->A 3 arrow you can get thrown before arrows come out

A arrows are so nice on block with an assist allowing you to go for instant overheads and stuff and easy tick grabs on block. Tasks throw range is pretty decent IMO and his airthrow is hella good.

c.M is godlike =)

^Wavedash >cr.M, st.H all day.

Hey guys just started using taskmaster. I’m having trouble against wolverine dante and wesker. Any suggestions?

I had a question with taskmasters OTG arrow Hyper. After a normal BNB to normal jump OTG hyper, sometimes I can DHC to Dr. Doom’s Sphere Flame and it will connect, other times it won’t. Is there a certain time I need to be DHCing to get it to connect? It seems pretty random of the occurrence of it working, or of me needing to XFC> st.H with Doom to continue.

i was running into this problem with dhcing to zero’s rekkhoa, try superjump height arrows they take longer to hit the oppenent that way keepin them in the air longer to allow doom to connect.
