Copy THIS! The Taskmaster thread!

From forward throw you can: air qcf+C, qcf+BC
From back throw you can: super jump qcf+AC (many of the hits will miss but it does work if you do it fast enough)
From air throw you can: air qcf+C, qcf+BC

Well hey there Taskmaster folks.

I’m interested in perhaps recruiting him for my team. I was kinda set on Shuma, Dormammu, & MODOK…but since Shuma isn’t out, and MODOK is a crazy handicapped troll, I’m eying Taskmaster. Love his character design, and his combos and moves seem to be pretty awesome. Recommendations for a Dorm, Task, and ??? team until the ancient tentacled one arrives?

I look forward to sticking around and learning Task’s abilities.

@ waste of flesh

I’m actually using a team of dormammu/taskmaster/hulk it seems to be working out pretty successfully so far

task is always on point and hulk with an x factor is always a good thing to have just in case

This character is amazing. Mighty Swing combos are so AWESOME.

After a bunch of messing around. I’ve settled on Taskmaster in my team (Cap, chun, Taksmaster). he is really fun to play, and really fucking strong. what assists is everyone using?

Task is a great lead character. He builds meter well and rarely uses it himself. His command normals cause a crazy amount of chip and mighty swing probably gives the dirtiest mix up in the game for simply holding forward and hitting C especially when coupled with assists.

The BIGGEST thing about why Task is so good so early in the game is because back C goes through projectiles and beats every keep away team out right by just wave dashing to 2/3 screen distance and using it with the exception for MODOK.

MODOK has to be Tasks worst match up he simply can’t deal with the lasers and Sent assist coupled and a block shield (Shuts down Back C) on the ground. If your team has no character with a fast air dash your gonna lose the match as I found out today. Oh, and Sent will never get in on a MODOK with an assist.

Ok, so after messing around with Task for the last couple hours, I’m convinced that this guy needs to be on me team. It’s official…I’m now using Task, Dormammu, and Doom. Team “No-Face”!

I can definitely see MODOK being a problem. Pairing him with a teleporter like Deadpool, Wesker, or Phoenix should help there though. I’ve used both Taskmaster/Deadpool/Hulk and Taskmaster/Sentinel/Phoenix with some good results so far.

taskmaster + xfactor is fucking awwwwesome

what is the timing and/or how high should the opponent be to land this combo consistently:

sometimes when i’m doing it, the S right before i land and do it again won’t connect and i can’t follow up with land, M, H, S. what could i put in place of it to guarantee the combo all the time or what should i do to be more consistent with it? thx.

I’m no combo expert, but I would rationalize that skipping the H and going right to S would get you the setup.

thx. i’ve been trying M, M, H, land, S instead but unfortunately after i do M, H, mighty swing in the air the opponent is too far to connect the rest of the combo into OTG, arrows, arrows super.

so i’ll try S and see what happens.

edit
that doesn’t work either…i guess i just have to keep practicing the execution of the j. M, j. H, j. S, land, M, H, S or something. shit seems absolutely random so far but maybe its me…

i think its kind of height dependent

after I do my first ground combo into ground swing, if I they look to high/low ill change doing either MM, MH, or M into the next airswing to get the MHS to hit properly then land MH etc.

Humbag I’m trying that infinite you showed and I can only ever really get 2 reps of the shield charge into the arrows. Is the infinite height dependent on the height when you hit the first one or something? I can’t really figure out what I’m doing wrong.

Taskmasters BnB from the guide:
2L, 2M, 2H, 6H, jM, jM, j6H, jM, jM, jS, 5M, 5C, 4C, 5S, sj, jM, jM, jH (one hit), j6H, jM, jM, jS.
Can be followed up with a rejump into j236LH or j236H, j236MH in the corner. Does 700,500/724,200 damage.

100% X-Factor Combo:
2L, 2M, 5H, 4H, xfc, [4H, 236L]xN.
Only requires level 1 X-Factor.

Edit: I have started using this bnb instead of the one from the guide:
2M, 5H, 6H, jM, jM, j6H, jM, jM, jS, 4C, 5S, sj, jM, jM, jH, j6H, jM, jM, jS.
Can be followed up with a rejump into j236LH or j236H(charged), j236MH in the corner.
It is easier and does a bit more damage but build less meter.

Man, I’ve got to say, I’m digging Taskmaster a whole lot. He’s the much-needed balance on my Thor/Haggar/Tasky team, at the moment, giving me something to work with when I inevitably run into keepaway games and die like a pig in hell. He can manufacture some really sneaky comebacks right now; that’ll probably diminish somewhat once everyone realizes how hard the guy can hit, but for now it’s super great.

And then of course I go play at friends’ houses and not everybody has him unlocked yet, which is just ARGHH (and also why I’ll be hesitant to pick up Shuma full-force when he drops, as much as I love the guy). How hard is it to get 8000 points? COME ON GUYS

can you do that 100% combo outside of the corner? I’ve tried a bunch and haven’t been able to, the shield knocks them too far.

Don’t know if this has been mentioned before. But If you dash close enough to your opponent and cancel that dash into c.B it will cross up and hit low. This can then be cancelled into c.C-> S.

So I, too, have discovered the awesomeness of Taskmaster. I’m presently running Taskmaster (Vertical Arrows)/Akuma (Hurricane Kick)/Amaterasu (Bloom). Now I know people are going to go “Bloom?! WTF?!” but hear me out. Tasky and Akuma go together perfectly. Tasky uses little meter, and Akuma needs a lot. Tasky has high health, lower speed, and lots of normal range. Akuma has low health, high speed, and moderate range. Both do high damage and have a ton of moves. Arrow hypers and Hadou hypers can DHC all day long. And they assist each other perfectly. Akuma’s Hurricane Kick assist actually cancels a lot of projectiles, and doubly so if Tasky tosses an arrow into the mix. He can then advance right behind Akuma with Charging Star to get in. Akuma has the speed and the tricks, and Tasky’s rain of arrows just makes them so much better. All the while, tossing out an Amaterasu assist to build meter means that about 15-20 seconds in you can be sure you ALWAYS have a Raging Demon ready to go, so your opponent has to be super careful or they’ll eat a ton of damage. Then, of course, if you do bring Ammy in, she has two great assists backing her, and Okami Shuffle DHCs into anything. Awesome, awesome team.

I am so glad I decided to pick up taskmaster, he can play good keep away, kill projectile spam, and rushdown with a good assist. I wouldn’t call him god like but he is definitely upper mid tier.

Much respect to good taskmasters like PK Zucco.

This dude is unknown technology right now and I think a lot of people have disregarded him.
