I disagree, i think the character themes are better, but the stage themes are cool.
Anyway, he did use that orange costume, though i was expecting a red cape alt.

I played Taskmaster yesterday and he was pretty fun but I couldn’t get passed some keepaway due to 1. Not knowing WTF I was doing, and 2. Lack of air mobility so for now I think that is his weak point but I think he has some of the best normals in the game so far.
You can leave now.
As a dedicated Marvel 2 player for 10 years this was my first time with the game so you can kindly STFU. I was still trying to learn awhole new system while trying to de-program MvC2. Fucking launch button and command normals in a VS game is stupid.
k write a blog.
And do use his Shield Charge more to blow other people’s projectiles.
I’ll try that out tonight
Wow, aren’t you quite the douchebag?

This is the best quality I could find for each stage, check his page for the other stages including Jill, Shuma, and Galactus (Which I think has the best boss music in a Capcom fighting game so far)!
No download link though but im sure there will be soon.
is swordmaster good for anything? seems like its to slow for an effective overhead. unblockable headbutt is nice, but does the H version actually do damage? can he extend any of the partitions into other combos?
does anyone wanna be kind enuff to make a vid of swordmasters variations?
They even showed the comic where he used it. It was not a Taskmaster specific outfit, it was a generic suit everyone he was around was using.
Well, they took it down, so here’s a better one that shows just why that orange suit was such a stupid choice.
http://img820.imageshack.us/i/sstupidoutfit.gif/ At the very least, they could have…you know, gotten the color right, because that’s not remotely close to what they are using.
I’ll probably just alternate between themes and stage music depending on those I’m playing with and the characters they are using. I do think many of the themes are nice, but a lot just flat out suck. The worst thing too is the constant switching of themes multiple times per match, especially if you’re playing against those with the bad themes.
The only themes I find that can match or exceed the stage music are: Wesker, Chris, Arthur, Magneto, Sentinel, Spencer (good luck ever hearing it!), Thor and of course Taskmaster. The rest border on “decent” to “ugh”.
Stage Themes for me, the constant switching of the character themes just detracts from the epicness of a match.
Sword master is hella slow. Although the A version might be useful but you can only do headbutt->throw->otg air super
I tried working in sword master shenanigans tonight but I either got hit before swordmaster even landed or was pushblocked.
Task has pretty damn good keepaway. The team I am running now is Magneto(a), Taskmaster(g), Sentinal(a).
Taskmaster + drones is an amazing keepaway combo.
call drones, jump back air qcf+hold M, land qcf+hold L/M/H
and repeat
its a pretty solid tactic and it covers a lot of the screen and if anything hits you can cancel into super for good damage
Tasks s.M has greaaat range hits twice (usually) and is fast. Tasks bread and butters HURT for just 1 meter.
LMH etc-> f+H, j.MM, f+H, j.MHS, land, s.M, s.H, S, j.MMH, f+H, j.MHS, land, air qcf+hold C, qcf+BC
does GREAT damage and seems to work midscreen and corner
Yeah, it’s pretty situational, but hey, it would be too good if it wasn’t slow and pushblockable.
Been watching the stream all day, and they finally started playing some Taskmaster, doing some things with him I was wondering were possible. He looks like a beast on point, and non projectile characters are going to have a hard time with him if they are defending. He has some block strings that look super safe, and all advance guard does is shoves him out so that they still have to block his jumping :h: at the end of it, and then just Mighty Swing when he lands.
Swing is punishable on block with a jab.
No, it’s not. It’s a tight blockstring if you cancel it into a normal.
It’s not cancelable. It’s a link after the swing. If it were cancelable you’d be able to just grab the rope and press A for amazing overheads.
Or is my turbo button not mashing j.A hard enough?
It is cancellable, the last frames of the swing can be cancelled. Do you have the game? Because I do.
It is a nice mixup. You can cancel the rope into j.M, wait and cancel it into another j.M or land and go for cr.L or throw.
you should only be doing swing mixups with a proper assist coverage like sentinal drones
Task seems to do fairly well against sentinal IMO.
j.H 2 hit beats sent armor and lets you go into LOL damage combo.
s.M is also good vs sent since it hits twice
if people resort to HSF spam just super jump out and j.H into swing or super etc.
We know how assists won’t be pushed away from Advancing Guard (i.e. the dreaded Chun-Li Lightning Assist et al). What I’ve just found was that any attack that connects at the same time an assist hits will be immune to the push of Advancing Guard as well.
For example, if Captain America throws a jab the same time (or just after) a Sentinel Drone assist hits, the opponent will be unable to push Captain America back with their Advancing Guard. Which is all well and good for most characters, as it allows them to maintain pressure.
However this is absolutely mind-blowing news for Taskmaster with his unblockable Headbutt followup to Sword Master attack (:dp:+:p:, :h:), as it enables him to have a guaranteed guard break, which he then can go into his Sword Master string, cancel into Supers or an X-Factor for a full combo.
In the case of some assists, such as Amaterasu’s Cold Star or Sentinel’s Drone Charge, go into a full combo without an expending an X-Factor at all.
Naturally, this works best in the corner, but this is possible anywhere on the screen if you cross up with the assist (there by putting the opponent between you and the assist). Also it works for any assist, though some are easier than others.
While some characters have unblockable setups with certain assists, Taskmaster can have unblockable setups with a much, much wider variety of them, and can put opponents into situations where their only option for escape is using their X-Factor.
Unblockable setups from Sentinel Drones, anyone?
