Funny, I hate UDON Taskmaster but the classic taskmaster in UDON colors looks awesome.
No news about his ? Assist tracking, like Doom’s missiles? :c
I took a look see at the game guide, Taskmaster’s Aiming of Legion Arrow is done with different combinations of attacks. For instance, I think OTG arrow from the air is j.:qcf::l:+:h:, Straight forward would be :l:+:m:, etc. Didn’t really get it, I’d have to look at the guide again.

I don’t understand your sentiment, we barely know anything about how Taskmaster will fare competitively. Or how his assists will be. Or how he will fare on point. Where are you getting these wild assumptions from, friend? I mean, can we at least wait a few weeks before writing him off?
Ooh, nice! Thanks friend. Spidey Swing looks super easy to work into comboes. Judging by how quick it comes out/recovers, plus launch/relaunch I’d bet you could fit about 5 in a standard BnB. How did he “feel” to you? Was his jump good? Did he feel slow?
I have been playing both characters. More Wesker than Taskmaster, but I can say that Tasky’s range on his Jumping and standing C are huge. J.C can also cross up. It doesnt look like it should but it does. All of which can easily lead to Mighty Swing combos which are hella fun and not all that difficult. I did it on multiple characters without dropping the combo due to size. Only if I had an execution error.
Here’s how the arrow super works:
QCF L+M = Straight, QCF L+H = 45 degree angle, QCF M+H = 90 degree angle.
(In the air) QCF L+M = Straight, QCF L+H = 45 degree angle downward, QCF M+H = 90 degree angle straight down.

I really like how he feels, he has good range, swift attacks, and you can always leave him safe after a block string with that web swing, its such a good move, projectile is kind of slow, but i wouldnt play keep away with this kind of character anyways, he can definetly apply pressure.
He’s not on the team im planning to use, but I like him. He hits pretty damn hard. The mighty swing combo I was doing into super did like 55 to 60 percent on Wesker. And his health is above average. His assists seem pretty crap. I only used the straight arrow for a combo extender. I saw someone use the 45 degree angle one and, due to assists lack of invincibility, its not a good idea to use for someone air dashing on top of u. If u think they will jump u can use to deter them, but its just more of a nuisance if anything. Also, for the front page, the 90 angle aerial super OTG’s as well as the 45 degree.
I didnt use that assist sry. I wont be able to verify till tomorrow night. Some one i know has it, not me personally. I think the actual move has some tracking, but dont quote me because I really wasnt paying attention. All i did notice is that it has a height where it will fall so it cant be used to catch someone who is super jumping away or a case like that.
Yep, agree with that 100%. Also, I think the all orange color is actually a very strange choice. I saw that in one of the comics as well, but thought there’s no way they would use that because a) it’s not actually a Taskmaster outfit and b) I already linked an entirely unique color scheme that he did wear. The all orange looks like shit too, but at least he has three great choices.
Also, it’s sadly looking like I won’t ever be able to listen to Taskmaster’s theme during a match. Before it gets taken down, you should download the OST that was linked in the theme thread. I’ve only listened to six tracks so far, but jesus christ does the BGM blow the hell out of the majority of character themes. Most of the BGM is Taskmaster quality.
Finished listening to them all…NO CONTEST. It’s by far the best fighting game music Capcom has done since SF2. Now I don’t have to worry about cringing each time Dante or X-23 appear.
Well saw Taskmaster in action a bit ago, this dude has some serious stuff. Here are my first impressions:
First, his Vertical Shot assist is pretty damn good, ghetto version of Doom’s Overhead missiles.
Second, his Charging Star negates a certain number of projectile hits, IIRC.
Third, his Mighty Swing and high priority normals combined with a good assist make for some sick rushdown.
Fourth, his dashes are extremely fast, wavedashing should speed him up a ton.
And finally, his Headbutt off of Sword Master is unblockable, but sadly it’s pushblockable. Could possibly have some unblockable set-ups with him.
Yeah, people who have been reading everything they could about this character have known for a while that he has one of, if not the best :h: normals in the game. Sucks to hear that his assists are that bad and that the 45 degree version isn’t really viable as AA. Sounds like the ghetto Doom missle version could help with lockdown though.
Forgive my potentially naive question, but does his overhead arrow assist track the opponents ? Or are they always full-screen overhead ?

And yes, his assists are pretty piss poor but otherwise his projectiles are really really good as far as I can tell.
Man. Every since he was revealed I confirmed my team of Wesker, Doctor Doom, and Taskie (Team Doctor Weskmaster).
I was deciding between him and Wesker for my point man but after reading all of this, Taskmaster seems to be a immensely great option at point. I’m too hype for this shit.
ok so i just got back from a local mash tourney and my team was taskmaster/deadpool/dante
he is extremely fun as hell, i was able to mash my way to top 3, taskmaster is a very strong character and i didnt even know most of the properties of his attacks. there didnt seem to be any situation he couldn’t handle, outside, inside. the only thing lacking is a good assist, i used A-type to maintain pressure. his normals have pretty damn good priority, and all of his arrow supers are safe and cover good areas of the screen. i’m not so sure about his launch combos as he would be off axis from most of them especially if they came off of dante’s Jam Session.
this is after about 20 total matches with him though so take what i say with a grain of salt.
