Copy THIS! The Taskmaster thread!

i’ll pick Taskmaster up along with Shulk and Akuma. Team looks great for me in theory and play/fun wise.

Sounds good, Akuma alone should have no problems getting in with his divekick, teleport, air fireballs and Raging Demon. Perhaps unblockable setups with Divekick and Shulk’s torpedo assist (that hits low)?

Yea that’s the idea basicly, Shulks torpedo assist for low hits Akuma with SRK or Tatsu depends and Task with arrows.

Taskmaster seem to hit like a truck in some combos and can turtle well with good HP and reflect, arrows and some assist help.

Akuma is pure brutal rushdown with such a good mixupgame now it’s awesome i love it.

Shulk is also very mobile with her run/walljump the stun also setups some great and deadycombos her anti air grab is also sick.

So overall my idea on the team is basicly a good mix of rushdown and turtle game based on the situation.

I hope it’s working how i think it should :stuck_out_tongue:

Is there a bandwagon for her, that I’m not aware of? I see a lot of people here pretending to be fans of Taskmaster, because they just have to love everything about MVC3. Were people like this with Marrow in 2000?

Or… y’know… people like the way the character looks after his trailer. I know that’s a crazy idea, but just thought I’d throw it out.

Find it that hard to believe that people are actual fans of the character? Seems like everytime theres a character reveal there’s one character who is the bandwagon character.

When it comes to Dormammu the flood also felt he took Ghost Rider’s spot. God forbid if a other character with a flaming head makes it over him.

It’s the way they deal with the pain of their favorite character not being in, by attacking the new characters.

I’m also loving Taskmaster’s range, looks like he’ll have no problem chaining together big combo’s off j.C or whatever.

Sounds like a nice mix, lol. Hopefully that works out for you. Think I might try Tasky with Dante and Hulk, or Dante and Spiderman.

There are already characters like Taskmaster in MVC3 though. He just looks redundant, and not in the way he was supposed to. I also don’t like the way Capcom cheapened out on his abilities, 3D engine has a lot of room for playing around with things like these.

Not really, I just feel that some people are just being yes men.

Wow, I find what you have to say interesting and well thought out. You’re logic is flawless, and I cannot argue with what you have said, you’ve completely changed my opinion, I can’t wait to go tell everybody else how right you are.

Yeah guys, stop trying to enjoy the characters in the game, be a real man- grow some nuts and hate the game like you’re fucking supposed to. HAPPINESS IS FOR SMALL CHILDREN AND OTHER WEAK THINGS.
Like Onslaught’s argument. ho-HO!
Even if Tasky’s moves are suppose to be copies of others, only Captain America and Spiderman are in MvC3. His Charging Star is cancelable into another special move like how Hulk cancels his shoulder charge into a another shoulder charge. He might not bring anything “new” like Trish and her traps, but he’s not that much similar to anyone else that I see. It looks like his arrows are decent for keepaway and he has counters if he gets rushed down and doesn’t look like he’s lacking an upclose game anyway.

Plus he’s a new character. I’m liking the somewhat even mix of returning and new characters.

Task big thing is using his bow to get the spacing and pace in his favor. Then execute either his swing or charging star to start his combo with his nice setups plus all the normals he will probably have. That part of him is unique.

Humblebee… your KFC Taskmaster avatar is amazing. I actually laughed. So damn good.

This, Tasky is very much his own character.

Haha thanks, I made it with just a mouse, so it’s alot worse then what I normally draw. Haha totally gonna draw some MvC3 art for the lulz, let me know if anybody wants me to make anything.

I downloaded the Taskmaster mini series and I’ve the read first two so far. It’s really making me like the character more, he has a lot of badass lines in it.

Hey Humblebee, if MvC3 art counts as making an AV for srk for me I would have a request

Anyone have any ideas on how Tasky’s health is? He definitely doesn’t seem super low health which is good because up this point I liked a lot of characters with low health which is something I was trying to avoid.

Also his VA kind of sounds like Steve Blum, which if true is awesome, but either way his voice is god like.

I really want to know what his alt colors are going to be and what his assist are.

“AIM OF HAWKEYE.” Love that shit. His Mighty Swing looks killer for rushing them down. I wonder if it crosses over to the other side on block if you’re close enough.

I’m interested to see what his assists are and whether they compliment a rushing team or zone team. If those volley of arrows are an assist, I’m thinking the latter.

I started liking Tasky because I was looking for a projectile character with a decent set of combos, nothing fancy but enough to get the job done. If his assist is as fast and as good as his normals which of course im sure they are, they will help my Hulk team.

In MvC2 I rolled a Hulk, Iceman, and Psylock team. Nothing Pro about them at all but it worked for me at least on a casual level. High on defense and it allowed me to go on the offensive with Hulk which is difficult due to the projectile puke that oversaturated the game.

With no Psylock or Iceman I need to find a good projectile character whos names are not Deadpool (I do like the character though). I think Task might do the job, he might actually be my point, though I was thinking Chris as well before Taskmaster came along.

I also need a Psylock type character. Oh I can’t wait to get in the lab with this game.

Most likely:

 1. Web Swing
 2. Charging Star
 3. Singular arrow, either straight up, or at an angle.

Seems pretty bland though, and it would be nice to see his sword being put to use in an assist. About his “Aim of Hawkeye!”; while watching that, I realized how quickly annoying that’s going to get when the move is frequently used. That’s one thing I really don’t like about this game. Too many long and drawn out pronounciations of EVERY MOVE. I don’t need every single character talking as much as Deadpool.
