And Taskmaster rarely talked about his past and the few times he did were vague with little detail. Saying that he doesn’t fully remember isn’t out of the left field at all. If anything, it explains alot.
This is the first time they explored his past. We even know his real name now.
Honest question and i mean no offence. But did you actually read it or did you just read bits and pieces from wikipedia or something?
Because even without that, it was still fun. Especially with all the mooks he faced off against.
Not trying to come off as if I’m defending the comic since I haven’t read it yet, but I feel like they needed to add SOMETHING to his character to make the book actually interesting. Y’know, character development and all that. Plus, it does seem like you’re in the minority here (not that that invalidates your opinion). You could be right, it could be utter shit, I haven’t read it. Just my 2 cents.
I didn’t mean to imply he was, only that some people have referred to him as such previously. And I know it’s always been vague ( frankly I like that at times… like I thought the Scourge of the Underworld went from really cool to epicly lame after they went from mysterious villain killing entity to just another group of random mooks, via being explained) but the implications have always been the Taskie started his criminal career right out of school, and while the memory loss -could- make sense, I think the part towards the end made the whole thing look ridiculous.
And yes, I did read it. The fights were fun, I just didn’t like what they’re doing to the character.
Vagueness is good in a character’s story. It lets the reader draw their own conclusion with their imagination. When you fill it in, it’s like teaching how the magic trick is done. The original creator left it vague for a reason, I know it’s common in Marvel now to fill in the blanks for old characters, at least it seems, when they start featuring the character frequently. Mystery is good, imo.
Your right. Avengers #195 1980 I believe. I think his character and background most resembles this story arc than the new ones.
haha you can’t Counter Hyper then reflect a projectile into a Counter Special (Aka Secret Move as he names it). You could Counter Projectile, Hyper Aim of Hawkeye, KFC Hyper Aim of Hawkeye. The Secret Move Hyper is a one shot pony.
Yes yes I know everyone really think it’s Mighty Swing but he is saying Spidey’s Swing as in he is acknowleging this is Spidermans styled swing, he also says Aim of Hawkeye when he shoots his arrows straight indicating again that that is Hawkeyes move.
Besides it would be kind of redundant for Thor’s move to have Mighty in most of his moves and then TM to say Mighty Swing out of nowhere.
How much different can you make a generic rope swing less generic; between Daredevil and Spiderman? If thats the case they could call it Batmans Swing and it still would’nt make a difference.
With 2 counter specials and a hyper counter, I’d be surprised if he didn’t have a counter assist, probably his reflect counter (could be his low counter though.)
I’m guessing assists will be
Bow shot (straight)
Counter (reflect)
Bow shot (vertical)
I wouldn’t be surprised, he could have his “Charging Star” or even Mighty/Spidey Swing (Spidey himself has it) as an assist. Wesker has three counters and a Hyper, but no counter assist.
his counter attack changes the camera angle when it connects and has grab-state properties. How is that going to work when it’s an assist? We haven’t had any other counter assists so far, so I’m kind of curious where this idea is coming from.
Amaterasu Solar Flare assist, Magneto force field assist. He has two counters, more likely would be the reflector counter.
But Taskmaster’s character is focused on understanding the movements of his opponents and reading their styles, then counter attacking them. a.k.a, counters are an integral portion of his character, unlike Wesker. I’m not saying he won’t have charging star, or mighty swing/spidey swing, just that I’ve got my fingers crossed for a counter assist as well.
I’ve never actually seen amaterasu’s solar assist used before, only Bloom and cold star. how exactly does it work? Is it possible to combo the opponnet after it hits?
IDK, honestly Ammy is a char I’ve avoided for the most part, similar to Dante, I expect hordes of them. I’ve seen it used, but I can’t remember the exact video, check out the Ammy walkthroughs, maybe they show it. She jumps out and her reflector flares up, and if the opponent hits it then it’s activated.
From the videos of Tasky I have picked up a few things that no doubt will have already been mentioned in this thread but I’ll compile what I’ve seen here:
His arrow air super can be aimed at least down/forward and forward. OTG’s too. Looks like the ground Arrow super can sometimes wiff hits due to the arrows spread, especially if the opponent is airborne.
He looks like he has a command overhead that looks really slow or can be charged.
He has a move that parries projectiles (parries weskers air gun shot back at him at an angle and Zero’s ground fireball).
He ALSO has a move that parries normals, he does a crouched animation parry and parries chun li’s 2B
His st.C and j.C both hit multiple times
He can combo into and out of web swings.
His counter super only takes 1 stock unlike deadpools lvl3 counter super
His shield rushes look like C.Americas but can be cancelled into what looks like C.Americas dragon punch move but a launcher version.
Can’t help but wonder, did Task Master or Naruto came first?
Read a little on the first page, TM is capable of copying anything and in a close up his eyes are red.
