!Constructive Criticism Thread!

Banging that MC Hammer greatness!

Why is it no ST players are posting in this thread? I’m asking for guidance! That’s cool…don’t let me figure this game out on my own now. Consider yourselves warned niggas.

Unfortunately I’ve been choosing poker over ST tournaments at Zach’s so I haven’t played against you much Mandel. After tomorrow we can exchange constructive criticism. Poker is too random.

It’s okay Chris, you’re still a pimp in my book!

SLightly off topic but: S’soooo wonderful that this topic is being used. I hope many 'ave gained assistance!

As far as Deezo + ST is concerned, man, beats me. I’m so not tourney-level in that game. Whenever I picture ST I p[icture sagatXryu fireball fights.

Stick to who you feel comfortable with, Deezo. That’s what usually wins.

As for the patience thing, I’ve noticed it plays out a lot like CvS2 you just have to wait and then find that counter poke to score a knock down and then just stay on top of them, you know?

As for match ups…hm…kinda hard to say, but you use Ryu and Chun so you’re pretty much set…only people that give them issues is Boxer and Dhalsim and Claw if he can get close enough.

Inexperience though, man, you just gotta’ practice helluh…

Hey guys, 3s, Ibuki… she’s my new hobby character. Instead of listing off what I know, jus’ gimme ranStrats. Thanks in advance.

KUNAI CROSS-OVERS FOR THE WIN!
lol.

Uh…talk to 9TNine, that nigga plays Ibuki.
Or look up Ibuki strategies by DevilJin 01
Dude is crazy with her.

Just don’t be a busta and bring back the dash up ownage sooner or later.

Neat! I picked her up as a hobby character becuase of the silly ridiculous stun. Stun’s so damn funny to me!

i just started playing marvel, i’m playing ironman/psylocke/sentinel i know almost absolutly nothing about this game except ironman’s infinite is easy and psylocke is fast and i use sentinel because that guy is beefy stompin’ heads and clubbin’ people and what not. with all that said, how do i play? T_T

Psylocke always goes third on any team ever. Unless Tron Bonne is third. She and Tron Bonne have incredible assists, so key off of them. Go watch some Sentinel and Psylocke, Iron Man and Psylocke, and Sentinel and Iron Man videos - what questions do you have after that?

alot of general knowledge, i know how to wave dash and i’m pretty sure i know the purpose of it, i don’t know how to traingle jump altough i can learn that with ironman, because he has an air dash…? alot of my questions would mainly consist of basics of the game i think. as far as combo’s go i stated i can do ironman infinite thanks to lawrence, but i generally drop the guy after 3-4th repetition, is it possible to combo into super with that? i love iron mans super c.c; and how do i do combo’s with sentinel… you know the average scrub questions =D

my main practice though with this team is me putting in quarters in the 2p side so i can practice combos and i did them on sent mag and storm because they have very different body types i figured they’d fall differently. any advice as to play these guys better than praying pyslockes assist hits? so i can do ironman combos rofl.

It’s the same as when you play MSP (Magneto/Storm/Psylocke). Call in Psylocke when you’re against them, then throw in a low poke or two, which Psylocke’s assist will combo off of. Then they’re at the perfect height for an infinite.

I figured I’d stop by and post some wisdom (if it can be considered that).

-If you play someone really good in a tourney, don’t be nervous, scared, or whatever. Look at it as an opportunity to make a name for yourself. Back in the day I used to call it “stealing someone’s shine.” This is what I used to play for a longtime ago.

-A way to stop being nervous during tourney matches, is to simply concentrate on playing your best. With me I think to myself “why would I be nervous to play someone in a video game?” That works wonders for me.

-Different players have different opinions on watching videos, but I think watching videos helps a lot. Helps you understand certain nuances and situations a lot better.

-Never be afraid to use something you think is dope, even if you got it from someone else. Use what’s hot, who cares?

-Patience is key in like every single game out there, I swear. You’d be amazed at what can happen if you just wait a while.

-Play with the best, I can’t stress this enough. Here’s a mini story for you, when I first started playing Marvel fuckin years ago, I was shitty as hell, Ima keep it 100. But anyway, I ended up playing with Rat (who was by far the best at the time) a couple times for like hours on hand. We would play first to 50s and it would be crazy shit like 37-13 and 42-8. I felt pretty discouraged, but when I would play at the arcade after, I already saw the improvement I had made. Now that I think about it, I dunno maybe that’s because I learn fast, but either way, play good people, it does wonders!

-My personal theory is, the best way to learn a new game, is to start off learning combos, and then concentrating on strategy. Strategy is something that can always be revised, combos are always straightforward. Once you make the hits you land count, then you concentrate on recreating those situations.

-If you’re losing rushdown, if you’re winning turtle. Pretty basic.

Here’s a Deezo secret…

If you wanna place relatively high in a tourney, while on your way to the tourney, listen to Stan Bush-Dare, or any other gross 80’s inspirational rock music. It does wonders, trust me.

Rat is one of the best teachers we have, hands down. Case in point back when GT was the shit, and Paris was still playing. We had a first to 10 match where i stomped him something like 8-2. 2 weeks pass and again same scenario except he spent the last week playing with rat…i lost 9-1.

out here i play against samY and samB in marvel, on occasion they help out a bit but some concepts are still hard for me, i do fairly well when they use low tier teams but thats probably because they are using low tier teams either way the game is fun the game is really really tough at high level competitive play and it’s definatly not my strongest game. but i have far too much fun in it. thanks for all the words of advice hope to play with you guys sometime soon so i can get some more help. ^^

short short donkey.

Yeah. I was looking through threads just on gp…and i came across this one… It had a use.

After last tourney, I need to step my game up in marvel. WTF is up with me in CvS2.

I need to practice safe jumps

no such thing!
