Bops Son!

lol!

I think Cl0ckW0rk is really advanced chipping team… not like duc though.

Chip trap indeed. I’m not consistant though. Should get a bit better with more play time.

I would say try not to chase storm into the air too much. When she runs away to build meter just stay on the ground and build meter yourself. Just do a normal like launch or mouth beam and then cancel into fly and quickly unfly. If storm uses her lightning attack then its more safe to try to jump and hit her with something, but until then its better to stay on or near the ground. When she finally comes down try to make her block a low flying fierce while calling your doom assist or wave dash under storm to try to cross her up with a low rh, or low short when she lands. If you hit her great, if not hopefully from here you can at least make her block some doom rocks and mouth beam hsf. Now you are cheesin her and hopefully puting yourself in a position where you can control the pace of the match for a while.

^ word! I need to get way better with that man, Sent.

I just found out a trick to get my supers to come out 99% of the time with makoto.

When you do the command grab (hcb+k), just hold back then do hcf, qcf+k. That way you make sure you don’t miss the first part of the input like I was clearly doing.

This isn’t really relevant I guess, but I figure if somebody had a similar issue this may help.

Most of my problems come from execution so if anyone knows anything general involving execution (not even 3s, just joystick inputs in general) I’d appreciate it.

Yea if u chase storm then ur done. esp if u are sent. I think mag v. run away storm isnt bad at all. I’ll jump n do Fr then cancel to a dash n I’ll either throw, Rh, or 1 short and this will have storm fall for mixup opportunities when she hits the floor. I need to get in to marvel mode. Yest. was a start with dashing thru shockwave everytime I tried. P.S. 1 button dash for Evo 2007

I’ve been in the scene for over 6 months. Most of your NW MvC2 players have had a chance to see my game by now. Tell me, what am I doing wrong? What do I need to change? What are the most obvious baits that I keep falling for? How do I stop losing to Cody in tournaments when I consistently win the first game of a set? How do I stop bringing down the scene with my mediocre play? What do I need to do to actually get better with Sent and Mag? Why do I keep GHVB-ing? Is there any viable team featuring Roll?

Let loose. I can take the criticism.

I’ll get back to you on that

Dan is a Korean beast! He beats every team I can muster, even my best team (Jill/Sentinel/Cammy)

Dan is ftw, no?

He’s pretty good, IMO. Although you should really play at GW every now and then on thursday nights. I promise you won’t win.

Fixed lol.

Besides, no one can match the intensity and excitement of Brian vs Pablo fight. Sadly, we all know Colossus is better than Gief.

Indeed he is. Now that I’ve played Colossus for 10 mins, I actually know how to space against him. That was what got me before. :u:+:hp:… pwned.

Nah… Dan’s better than me, but it’s his Mag that’s good. His Cable needs a lot of work (sorry Dan) It’s the difference between the levels of the characters you play that isn’t working for you, I think. Work on balancing them out more and blocking stuff better. Your execution is good, but when you switch out or lose Mag, it ends pretty fast =/

Hope to see you next friday!

Thanks! Who are you?

People think Cable is my best character, but that’s only because I can ahvbx3. Unfortunately, everyone at Zach’s has awesome Cable awareness from fighting so many good Cables. I just like to sj.hp a lot. If you think my Magneto’s good, play Mandel – he’ll blow your mind.

I realize he isn’t your best character, because Cable is probably my best, followed by storm, who I can’t really play without dropping Cable, so I settle for Sent. You’re a better player than me, but in retrospect, I thought my Cable was a bit better than yours. Mainly because you play him so defensively without covering your tracks. Also, he’s a good runaway character, but you never took the opportunities you got to rush me down with him. Cable is a distance character, but closing in with cable keeps your opponent in a very difficult situation, as when you pin him in the corner, you can keep him there for at least three defensive strings if you do it right, and when you close in on him by covering the jump with an assist and dashing in, you can mix up his low kicks with low jumps and either hard kicking or doing the lp/lk V c.lk>c.mk> your choice.

Long story short, try playing an offensive cable for a while, see how he plays.

And Mandel, although good, doesn’t really intimidate me now that I’ve played Row. Row was the first to ever come close to perfecting me (it hasn’t happened yet on me) with his mag.

Yeah, my Cable sucks. That’s alright though. Part of the fun is getting better.

If you think my Cable’s bad, wait until you see my Sentinel…

The two beastliest things I like about good Cables (besides great aim, scimitar and grenade placement) are the cross-up low attack when they land and the quick beam.

If you do a tiger knee jab (or fierce) viper beam, you can snuff Storm’s Hail Storm every time. That’s definitely won me matches - yet another way to protect a damaged Cable.

Trinh also taught me a trick to win if you both go for AHVB - if you aim towards the other player first (some people mash for damage first or don’t aim), you hit several frames before them. So they’ll get super start-up animation, the beam will come out, but you hit them out of theirs. It looks 10x crazy. This is particularly useful when you’re coming in against another Cable

Cool… I’d like to get some little talked about Cable tips (and SSCable tips in general) other than LK,MK,HKxAHVBx3 and AHVB guardbreak which I can never pull off because of timing. I know my game is horrible and I can improve in EVERY area but some feedback there would be cool from anyone who’s ever played me as of a month or so ago when I started to play somewhat more seriously (yes I gave up on getting people to play 3S at Zach’s). For example, I die to good rushdown almost ALL the time and it seems like blocking and pushblocking isn’t enough sometimes, that and I sometimes forget to pushblock and get thrown. My rush down game is weak too obviously, what are some good rush down tips for Storm and Sent? With Sent I think I try way to much to set up the unblockable or J.LK,HKxRP, etc. and not enough time in the air harassing with stomp patterns.

Oh and Zach, gimme a random low-tier team to learn. :wonder:

The funny thing about Cable in Seattle is that while Cable should technically be an easy character to learn, Cable is so good in Seattle that he’s not. Weak ass Cables get wrecked.

Seattle Cable > *

 Tron too… I was in Cali visiting relatives and went to SVGL for a tournament, people were like “Damn, your Tron is hella good!” No, really it’s not.

The problem with low tier with people here is that you have to let them pick first and then scale your team accordingly. If you’re set on playing Hayato, you may be facing MSS because that’s what somebody always wants to pick. So-- with that in mind-- there’s some OK low tier teams here. It’s probably easiest/best to start with Sent-Y on your low tier team, since that’ll make you play that much more Sentinel.

Oh, and Kuenai, you really need to get a copy of the Team Seattle game save. It’ll save you time and if you can beat any of the scores people will be impressed.
