Seriously! i was wondering about this thread for a minute! lol!
I just started playing Psylocke earlier today… she’s pretty easy to learn :lovin:
Is Mag/Psylocke/Cable any good?
If you ever put Psylocke second, slap yourself. But yes, Mag/Cable/Psylocke is good. Not great, but good.
Bump!
Genei-Jin is broken cause he has speed shadows like Hyper Sonic in Sonic 3 W/ Knuckles…
Bam.
Damn.
lol. I never name off teams in their correct order. You should know that by now. Besides, there’s always that hady dandy A1+A2 to swith assists
What are the best Psylocke teams besides MSP?
what should a washed up player do?
Kenny, I just watched that ST tourney.
Don’t be so scared with Blanka man.
Hop the shit out him, don’t be scared man.
Hop forward, hop back, walk forward, cr.lk walk up throw. also cr.mk x’s 2 xx hk flash kick links for beefy damage.
Against shoto’s abuse slide as much as possible, it’s also helluh good for countering wiffed throws and use the hop a lot when you knock down an opponent so you can ground cross them up.
If you get them in the corner, j.mk and c.lk are GREAT tick throw set ups. btw, mp gets you orange and blue Blanka.
Live it.
Hope this helps Kenny

edit: Dezzo also came across the ST SRK wiki with some good strats. http://shoryuken.com/wiki/index.php/Blanka_(ST) so there is the linky.
Read up.
It really depends on what you want to do. If you’re through with competitive play and want to let go of the scene, that’s fine. There is life after Marvel, Counterstrike, WoW, Monopoly, and Rochambeau. If you still enjoy playing games, just keep playing.
A gamer is defined as someone who plays games, not necessarily someone who plays them well. Whether you’re a “has been” (as you seem to imply) or a “never was” (as I am), you can always just play games for fun. Nothing comes easily. Remember that it does take tremendous sacrifice to actually be good at a game. I lamented a few months ago that MvC2 had probably eaten up over 60 hours of my life, and Evan responded:
“Shit, when you’ve played for over 2000, then come back and we can talk.”
I’ve now probably broken the 90 hour mark for MvC2. I do nor foresee myself ever coming close to Jmar levels, nor would I really want to devote myself to such an endeavor. But gaming is fun for me. If a hobby or lifestyle ever ceases to be fun, it’s time to quit. I guess the question is, are you having fun? Is there a direct correlation between tournament placement and enjoyment?
Or, I might have completely misunderstood your query. Perhaps you were not looking for introspective analysis. Rather, maybe you were asking what should you do as a player when the rest of the community has evolved beyond your skills. If that’s the case, I say play some combination of Sentinel, BH, Cable, and Doom.
Or, you’re just getting drunk in the wee morning hours and you felt like posting. To that end, I’d recommend drinking fluids before going to bed and avoid a hangover caused by the dehydration of the brain.
Thanks! lol!
i picked door number 2. It sucks cause i get manhandled, and want to stop playing competitvely, yet i watch the evo trailer and get hyped…it’s a never ending cycle.
What do you enjoy most about playing? How can you make that happen more?
You should stop being such a bitch Frank. Thats my suggestion.
yup thats what happens. get hyped and then get beat up. im trying to move past continually experiencing that scenario myself. like keith said you can just stop playing and that might work out, or you can put in the hours and try to beast. some of the things im doing or planning on doing include:
-spending time in training mode
-playing as much as possible with as many different people as possible.
-playing for money
-reviewing footage
-recording matches (need to start doing this)
-entering tournaments
it seems like another good thing to do is to travel to play. sadly, this isn’t a realistic option for a lot of us.
even doin all this stuff though, i still feel like im not really improving much, so shit… iono what to tell you.
Well there’s no actual improvement, without actually playing the game. You like never play Marvel, so that should be nearly 90% of the reason why you lose. A few months ago I told myself I’d try to at least try to improve and try to be the best I’ve ever been (still don’t think I’ve reached that point yet as I don’t really think I’ve improved despite what others say). It’s a work in progress, maybe it’ll happen maybe it won’t, but I won’t know unless I try. If you actually do end up playing again, I suggest you try some different teams.
EDIT-Don’t let bad outings deter you. Seriously. I think me getting discouraged at times definitely held me back. Just dust yourself off and get back in. I need to practice what I preach because I still get discouraged, but you gotta remember this is Seattle, not Witchita, Kansas. Just about 80-90% of us are good here.
LAST EDIT SWEAR TO GOD-I used your advice that you gave me last tourney against Evan last night, and seriously man, it’s like the best advice I’ve ever gotten in recent memory.
they call him young fishscale. cutlass look like carrot juice.
Putting in those hours… lol…
I’ve clocked in a little over 70-something hours on my DC save. Then again, that includes the times I’ve fell asleep playing half-assed against the cpu and woken up the next morning to save my points.
Question:
I play Clockw0rk. If I’m fighting against a strong runaway team, do I only 'ave to wait for them to fuck up or do I 'ave to play Sent/Doom better?
Personally! all runaway teams fuck up eventually. that strider/doom shit is boss though.
I think you should find some kind’ve sent/doom/defensive setups.
Exactly, my DOOM and SENT are TRASH. Literally.
I can only really (marginally) play Strider. I"m a one trick pony. HA
