I think Momochi is gonna take it because he has the easier path to winners finals. His worst competition is either Fuudo or Gamerbee and he has beaten both several times.
The other side of the bracket has Bonchan, Daigo, Infiltration and Tokido killing each other.
On paper Momochi should take it again. Just has the most reason to. It is a 32 man bracket of absolute killers though so anything could happen.

They are seeded as 1st and 2nd…so they should be on the opposite ends of the bracket.
I’m surprised you think Momochi will take it, considering he hasn’t been performing as well lately. Against random players, he seems to be overthinking and trying to find ways to counterpick his opponent when it totally isn’t needed. I hope he doesn’t use Guy at Capcom Cup.
I think that mostly due to how matches are laid out. Getting into grand finals from winners side is a huge advantage.

Hasn’t momochi had trouble with poongko in the past? That’s the only reason I have him in winners top 8, although if I’m remembering wrong then I have him there instead.
I think Du can go far simply because his playstyle can throw a lot of people off, on top of being a good player overall and having a pocket Decapre just in case. The other American players are either too bad with other characters (so matchups are a big deal) or are just too studied, with a possible exception to Dieminion since he just recently leveled-up again with a different style of play.
Are people using Guy because he’s supposed to be the answer to Elena?
No just Momochi tried him in his last 2-3 tournaments IIRC. But his Guy is really bad…Xbox live level bad so he fell back to E. Ryu/Ken when he got to the ropes.
In a interview Infiltration said he was playing Guy after watching Big Bird and thinking it was cool as fuck, so he may surprise us with it, but I don’t think he has an offensive style. Though I suppose Guy is also a fine character for laming people out with s.mk and runaway mobility.
Hmmm…I guess this is like his Cody thing where he’s just using someone else for fun except starting out nowhere near as fast.

Juri and Gouken are the characters I wish he played more often.
Infiltration has won tournaments using T. Hawk. He’ll play whatever character depending on the matchup and the opponent.
wish people played more Guy in general. There’s like 3-4 of them in the Pro scene

Yeah before I stopped playing I pretty much became a T.Hawk player. He’s just buttons and occasionally you grab them and things hurt without putting much effort. I like that.
As much as I’d like to see Momochi play Cody again, I don’t wanna see it during anything as big as Capcom Cup. Stick to good characters.
I’m rooting a bit more for Louffy now.
The fact that he crushed Phenom’s dreams the way he did even though nothing except for a couple of Swedish crowns was on the line made me a fan.

Im not trying to be a Daigo fanboy, but the way things play out, I have him playing dieminion, mago, snake, itabashi, tokido then momochi
most of these hes pretty comfy against. so I have him winning it.
Daigo has a chance, but he just seems more vulnerable than he used to be in his previous day. He could take it, but he’s not like my number 1 to take it or anything.
