FYI you should edit the standings and put RB as #32, because even though Rog has more points, RB is directly qualified and it would make it easier for people to understand how placement works.

Well I checked the official CPT standings page before posting this thread and it doesn’t mention RB anywhere, so I didn’t know if I should’ve put him in at all

RB automatically qualified because he got 3rd place at Milan Games Week and Xian and Fuudo were already qualified. PR Rog isn’t getting in unless he wins Dreamhack (and he already said he ain’t going). Either way right now RB is the lowest ranked player who’s in.

Plz no elena in finals

Let’s end this in a high note

pls

About 7 people on that list have an Elena.

Yeah we’re bound to to see lots of “healingu” and “uh uh uh uh uh”

Anyway, I think the most deserving GF would be Infiltration vs Daigo, though Daigo was kinda free to his Decapre last random youtube video I saw and we haven’t seen Daigo blow up the competition in tournaments like he used to, so I’m actually inclined to bet on a Momochi vs Infiltration GFs. They being next to each other in the rankings means they can’t face until GF, right?

Yes. Since seeding will be based on ranking/qualification, Infiltration and Momochi will start at the opposite ends of the bracket.

Assuming that things don’t change between now and then, the brackets should look like this.

-Momochi
-RB

-Poongko
-Itazan

-Fuudo
-Humanbomb

-Mago
-Dark Jiewa

-Xian
-Valmaster

-Nemo
-Dashio

-Gamerbee
-Gackt

-Snake Eyez
-Keoma

-Kazunoko
-801Strider

-Luffy
-Problem X

-XiaoHai
-NuckleDu

-Bonchan
-Misse

-Daigo
-Dieminion

-Tokido
-Shiro

-JWong
-Tonpy

-Infiltration
-Dakou

And before anyone asks, yes I’ve done brackets/seeding for a CPT event before.

I will be cheering for LUFFY! like I always do because he uses Rose.
Xian has always been Luffy’s nemesis in big tournaments so I hope Luffy doesn’t face him until the later stages. Daigo also always looks comfortable against Luffy so he needs to avoid him early on.

So many Abels

Which video was that?

The last time I saw Infiltration use Decapre against Daigo, Infil got completely destroyed. (Stunfest, Loser’s Final, for the record)

Also, as a sidenote, I think it’s interesting how Daigo vs Infiltration-matches tend to go. I’ve never seen a close set between them, I think. One side always gets completely run over.

Oops sorry I got confused, I’m refering to this set online and I remembered never seeing Daigo so utterly dominated, though most was with Akuma.

Either way my post was wrong…you’re right and I forgot he faced Infil again couple times and did much better. He’ll definetly come with a plan in mind and that’s when he’s most dangerous, when he has time to prepare vs someone specifically.

Sucks if that’s true for Luffy/Problem X but eh what you gonna do.

People will always complain about point seeded brackets because they ignore things like location, etc. I actually had to explain this to people when I did the brackets for Manila Cup because some of the Japanese were complaining that they were facing other Japanese in their pools (due to Capcom Cup seeding).

Omg you have keoma over Snake Eyez I love you

I only noticed Keoma recently at that last Brazil tourny and i think he can do it man, i really do. Snake eyez never impresses me…

Because top 8 90% of the time is so unimpressive.

So who do you guys think might take Top 8 and the Grand Finals this year?

The player roster is insane right now, I don’t even know whom to put my finger on

Though I guess Gamerbee, Infiltration, Nemo, Tokido, Du, Momo, Snake and Kazu would be safe bets
These guys have been on their top this year

By the way, in case you guys haven’t seen - there’s an ongoing series of videos on Capcom Fighters’ YouTube channel called “World Warriors of Capcom Cup” where UltraDavid and James Chen analyze the players and a certain set of matches. Pretty interesting. They already have several episodes uploaded
