I finally got it to work! I had to use exoboot 1.21 though. The newest version always quit on me when i try to select a data folder,so i went back on the thread that had exoboot and got a earlier version.
here’s the steps i took in making this cvs2 a success.
1.started with a selfbooting cvs2 and copied all the data to the hard drive.
2.picking what songs actually took the longest and when i got done deciding what goes where,i converted mp3 to wav with nero wave editor, made it louder in sound recorder then used adxncd to cnange to adx then i renamed the adxes to .bin
3.put all of that game data into exoboot 1.21’s data folder and created a .cdi image and it actually worked! it booted up and all the music works perfectly, volume and all!
Thank you everyone for all your help and advice! and i hope everyone can get this down now that i got it working!!
I was just reading through this thread and I don’t know if anyone aswered this yet so here goes. The image file that CDRWin makes by default is an iso image (.iso extension). Winrar is setup to be the default program to view ISO images/files. If you don’t change this in Winrar, then any .iso image on your computer will have the winrar icon by default. Winrar will work like windows explorer in this case; you will be able to open up the image and either extract the information or just view it. It is still an image and you can burn it with most burning programs that can burn .iso images.
It is possible to my knowledge. On cvs2 and mvc2 there are .Gif files which easy to create and manipulate on the cds. I have replaced the .Gifs on cvs2 but dunno what part they show up on. And some people have edited the marvel vs capcom 2 title screens. Sure other stuff is editable just need right progs. So lemme know u people in programing schools and such.
after i used the converter for changing the WAV’s to ADX… i tried to use the plugin to play the files but they dont play… did i screw up at some point?
another question. i think i may be using a self-boot image… is this not possible to use at all? i read about it earlier i just had a hard time understanding.
hi, when i put my image.bin file into bin 2 boot gui, i get this message from windows saying something about the program is not suitable to run in 16-bit does or something like that. Has anyone gotten a message like this? Im using windows XP. Is there a way to get around it? HELLPP, it went so smooth until now and im almost done with it! Thanks
dang i made an image.bin and when i insert into the selfboot.exe thing on the DOS pop up, it says d:\image.bin not found! Im surprised because the image.bin is right in my D: Anyone know whats wrong? I used nero 5.0 to create my image.
Nope, its just bin2boot without the fancy gui, has nothing to do with selfboot.exe (fucking bullshit program). Download >this<, put it in the same folder as your image.bin, then open the command prompt and get to that folder and type:
bin2boot image.bin
All should be made clear. If it isn’t, get me on aim or msn so as not to waste more forum space.
(note: if I’m not allowed to give the link, pm me and I’ll delete it)
my image.cdi file came up to be 767 MB, is this right? I dont have the full version of disc juggler and it says im only able to burn up to 700 MB. Does size matter or does it go by minutes? I read the dreamcastburn faq and it says select 80 min option. pls help. im almost there! Do you know if the program alcohol 120 % will work?
