chill out with the caps…
Just a note: In the final disk you burn for the DC, there should NOT be a file called IP.BIN in the root of the disk. I dont understand why, but it fucked things up on the ones I made. If you put the resulting cd in your computer, and you see a file called IP.BIN, you boned it somewhere.
You can tell me that but you cant answer my question? thanks dude
Im sorry, I tried, but my eyes started bleeding about the third word.
the way we discussed looping songs isnt hard at all… lol read it over when ur not high or drunk then comprehend it completly. if u have any questions after that contact either my self or x-death
ok i tried the looping and after i was done the game got to the sega logo and then went to a black screen and then just went back to the dreamcast’s main menu screen. the game didnt load up at all.
why dont ya post a list of the songs ya put in the stages cuz i need new idea’s of music to make another.ive made over 12 MvC2 mix’s or more and im out of songs.
This has nothing to do with looping ADX files and isnt caused by trying to loop ADX files. This is entirely dealing with the IP.BIN and the 1st_read.bin.
IP.BIN may not be good. Try another
IP.BIN may not be pointing to 1st_read.bin
There may be a file called IP.BIN in the root directory of the disc; get rid of it if there is.
1st_read.bin may not be valid; try another
1st_read.bin may not have its LBA set to the correct LBA for your second session.
Dreamcast may not be able to read the 1st_read.bin because of damaged cdr, burned it too fast, whatever.
There may be others, but 99% of your boot problems arise from one of those problems.
Hey anyone know how to edit more than just the music? Like some pics and animations? lemme know
not possable to my knowlage…
- I dont have a IP.bin for cvs 2 and there wasn’t one on the original copy either. most of my games dont have ip.bins either…
2.The only thing in the root of the remix and the original copy were all the game files, the dummy file, and 1st_read.bin
3.I’ve got 36 dreamcast games,i tried all the 1st read.bins from all of em…still no luck… 43 cdrs so far…
4.What’s a LBA and how can i set it correctly? hex workshop? any steps to do it/things to look for?
and as well as a selfbooting CvS2,I also tried to make a non self booting CvS2 and still no luck… always boots to the sega screen then resets…so any leads as to what im doing wrong?
I’ll even settle for a non self boot version. i got a boot disc, I just want to play.
HAve you tried the selfboot program that I linked too a few posts ago? That program called ExoBot is the only program ive seen that can make cvs2 selfboot. It takes care of all the ip.bin shit. here is the link http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=21680&page=18&pp=15
<3 this new program, i got it to work with emulators now
I tried to make the songs loop for the first time, but it did not work. The game came out just like any of my other custom mvc2’s, it works, just doesn’t loop. Does it matter that I used converter.bat (the .bat file that automatically converts the files from .wav to .adx in dos)? Also, when we are talking about the big ass number, are we talking about the number on the last line after we convert the file (ex: in the attachment, this # would be 2534400)? If that # is correct, then my next step would be to type:
adxencd ADX_S000 -lps0 -lpe2534400
Is this correct?
It shouldn’t matter if you use my converter, I use it all the time. It sure looks like you’re doing it right, so I really don’t know why they don’t loop…
Try to catch me on AIM sometime, and I’ll try and get em going for you.
Selfboots wont have a file called ip.bin on the disc. The one you create wont, however you do need an ip.bin in order to selfboot. Most ip.bin’s are interchangable. If you have my 3in1, get one of the ip.bin’s from just about any directory, and it will work fine. You use that ip.bin for the IPINS.EXE portion of the selfbooting.
1st_read.bin’s are NOT interchangable. If you replaced the cvs2 1st_read.bin with one from another game, it will NOT work.
LBA: long block addressing. Its a number that indicates how far into the disc the second session starts. This is the number that ‘cdrecord --msinfo’ gives you, that you put into BINHACK.EXE to properly modify the 1st_read.bin
I use the echelon self boot tutorial to selfboot mine. But since I dont know what all steps you took to make the disc, I cant tell you what you did wrong.
x- death, could you put a pick of the way you typed in your info on dod to loop the songs. when Tharimrattler and i both tried to put the .adx after the adx_s000.adx -lps0 -lpeBIGASSNUMBER the program got rid of the s000 that i had just transfered frome .wav to adx. can you help in any way?
Fucking fuck fuck fuck, I screwed up, you don’t need to put the .adx after the song. Here’s the fixed tutorial, and a pic. Sorry people, I’m off my game.
well,i tried exoboot and whenever i try to select the data folder…it starts using 100% cpu and won’t respond. exoboot wont work for me at all. seems like a great program, but i can’t use it.
here’s the steps i took in making this disk.
1.copied all the files from a self booting CvS2 to the hard drive
2.converted the mp3s to wav to adx and added them to the disc
3.made a image and tried bin 2 boot with the 1st read.bin from cvs2
4.then i tried to make it non selb booting after like 6 tries, then the fun started.
5.swapped 1st reads from other games and went through like 40 cdrs.
it would boot then reset.
so i dont know what the probblem would be. but i know i messed up somewhere…just dont know were…
good shyt
