Complete "How to Change the Music in MVC2 + How to make your game selfboot" Thread

through a turn of events I was actually able to get the CDI (i think it was it, I actually got like 9 copies of it for some reason) but those same events has me now without a DC…well for now at least.

SO is there any way to play this on a computer? I heard something about an emulator? I want to play!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Whoa… what happened? How did the very same process for obtaining the cdi cause you to lose your Dreamcast? I’m not sure if chankast will play it…'anyone know?

well no…events allowed me to get it, but those same events left me without my dc

so I got up to the cdrwin part…but it keeps saying I don’t have supported CDROM recorders…tear

go back to page 21 and read my lengthy post.

Wow, so I found program that can convert wav files to adx and loop them without having to use the DOS command at all. It does what my batch script can do, but this is an actual program that can do it and is really easy to use. You can select to loop the adx file or not, and it also can convert adx back to wav with the push of a button. So no more adxencd, dos commands, or any of that. This program is more practical because unlike my script where the files have to be named exactly right for it to work, you can just point and click a song or bunch of songs and have the program do it for you.

update - Well I made more progress on changing the music for PS2. I located the adx files and changes the song files. Only thing left to do is figure out how to save the damn thing so it can be burned or however ps2 takes its games…Anyone familar with repacking ps2 games?

yeah I just need to find thAt program now and I’ll be set

maybe I’ll just try it on a different comp.

ooohhh damn…good shit combomasher with the progress…im hoping that you’ll be able to make a tutorial or something on how to change the music on the ps2 version…also big ups to everyone else for trying to figure it out

Wow, it’d be incredible to be able to change the PS2 music, I completely look forward to this as my dreamcast is already dead.

Is there any reason why adxencd wouldn’t be working for me right now when it worked fine before? Even that new program won’t convert the songs successfully because of it; it keeps saying “Adxencd.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close” (this happens both when I just try to use adxencd or the DKZ studio program).

Maybe it’s some issue with the Command Prompt (because that method doesn’t seem to be working either). 'Anyone had this issue before?

OK

So I’m trying the echelon method instead

so you don’t have to copy the ip.bin into your data folder? the tut. isn’t saying so…but just making sure :o)

also I got an error while making the iso, though it kept going

http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i288/beatsofdevil/dos.jpg

will it work?

nevermind, i still have to deal with that cdrwin problem… >.>

You do not have to copy the ip.bin into the data folder for the echelon method. THe ip.bin gets inserted using the ipins.exe program after you have created the ISO.

hey I used that one program to convert mp3 songs to wav, but the program only allows me to do ten and then it says I need to register or something like that
I’m pretty sure its because I’m doing something wrong so could someone help me out

There are tons of ways to convert MP3 to WAV. If you have WinAMP, go into the output preferences and choose Disk Writer. That’ll do it for you easy.

Hmm not sure if its been asked from the 23 pages of the thread, but I placed a non-selfbooting DC copy of my MvC2 on my cdrom, and it showed me a bunch of files, but I cant seem to find the image file on it. Help?

there’s no imge file ecause you have the disk. the image file is something you would download.

I haven’t seen this in the guide, but…

For PS2 games, there’s a max file size for each of the sound files in the game. I’m restricted only to putting in music that fits those max file sizes. Some of them are small, and I can’t fit the music I want.
Is there any way to extend the max file size without messing up the game?

hey guys … anyone know what are the names of the ADX files to be changed in the AFS00 … if i just know what to properly rename them , then ill have confirmed that my method for a custom mvc2 for ps2 will work … please soemone help!
