Studiously avoiding spoilers here, but it will be interesting to see if the show’s unknown future will have an effect on the storytelling.

Well, didn’t they have the rest of this season in the can before NBC started getting cold feet? I don’t think we’ll see traces of “affected” writing either way.
Is it just me, or did parts of this episode seem kind of half-hearted?
It wasn’t a really pervasive problem, and the episode was still funny. Hopefully it’s just a temporary glitch while they get back into full swing.
It did feel like there were too many subplots and they were all over before they really developed. I think maybe they were trying to give too much equal time to jokes for fan and non-fans.
Still glad the shows back. Annie’s boobs ftw.

I just started this show after I read this thread. Its the best so I seen in ages. I watched Modern Warfare episode and the serious cliche action sterotypes made me laugh.
As of the most recent episode, this melody has been hummed in three different episodes by three different characters.

New episode tonight! I feel i should necver review an episode of Community without multiple viewings because some episodes feel off until I watch them again. That’s how I feel about last weeks return episode. I will watch it again before I give my thoughts on it as my initial thoughts are not stellar.

You people are crazy, I loved last week’s episode. Troy and Abed acting normal was fucking hilarious, and I loved Britta embracing her fate. But I guess with the various characters and subplots the show has, you can’t please everyone…
This week’s ep was hysterical. As angryliberal said, I may have to go back and rewatch last week’s ep to give it a chance to grow, but this week’s ep was instantly likable. It’s worth a watch just to try to name all the celebrities who are visually and/or vocally impersonated.

I hate to say it, but I have to watch last nights again. My favorite parts was probably the realistic handling of the Troy and Abed situation. It just felt like they took the humor of Community and turned the brightness up too much. Like they went too far with the “antics” side of Community. Maybe it was a clever jab at the idea that shows are never the same after a break, but they may be getting too meta for themselves if that’s the case. I will give it another shot though…
