It takes alot to organize events. Depending on the scale it can also be stressful for many different reasons. It can also take (MUCH) money too. I feel you on your educational priorities, you have to take care of business first.
As for focus cancel, or focus cancer as some call itā¦ the only reason I mentioned it was because a forum member mentioned it first and it has relevance to the situation perfectlegend mentioned. If yall really wanna know, it cost alot of money to organize that event which is why ill NEVER āput it in the pastā when it comes to dealing with this site. So when you speak negatively about something I was apart of, especially after the legendary srk thread that got alot of people banned from this site, and when it cost me money, you have to understand its no different than you calling me out my name. All this talk about tournament running is giving me some idea. Theoretically, if I started a Street Fighter Club in OSU or something like that , and somehow get funding from OSU. I think we can run a tournament somewhere. Hopefully maybe at the new Union that just got finished building. Ed knows what im talking about.
Edit: The more i think about it, the more i think OSU would be the best place to run a tourney in cbus. The only problem is, that the organizers have to be OSU students. There are plenty of places that we could use it as a venue, if the OSU student ask them nice enough with enough planning ahead of timeā¦I still have a year and half to go(im on a 5 and 1/2 year plan), soā¦ i dunno maybe I will run a tourney haha? the only other major problem i see is parkingā¦ itās a bitch to find a free open parking without being towed and crap.
Do something thatās relatively close to the gateway and people can park in the garage.
Iām pretty sure you can get parking validated by eating at the restaurants.
Are those halls that the anime and manga clubs used to use still around? They have projectors and theater seating.
I know the clubs exists, but i dunno anything about themā¦ so i cant answer your question.
Iād support this idea, but yeah parking is going to be a bitch. If youāre doing it, I donāt mind moving TVās or donating my own stuff for the weekend if it arises to that. As for the club, fuuuuuuuuck, times like this I wish I went to OSU instead of CSCC, although Iām sure that if it came down to it, I could generate people from CSCC to play SF IV as wellā¦If it helps, I mean. Although I honestly like it less and less I play it now. 
I honestly think the idea of using a projector is not wise at all, seats would be nice though.

This is how the fighting game scene in columbus got started and more importantly, expanded. This also was the location for 3 midwest tournaments from 2k2-2k4. Tiggy/avi/jacob know what im talkin bout here. It actually started with some Dr.'s that were fans of anime, did anime club, ggxx came out, and someone was like, imma throw a tournament here. Then a real ninja like me came out and was like, this location is the shit and my homie took over for the PhD. The rest was history.
Some things that did suck was carrying all those CRTs to the venue, Im talkin 170LBs 36in tvs up multiple flights of stairs and for out of towners, finding the event location because those halls are surrounded by many buildings. Parking aint an issue on the weekends.
Im busy as shit but maybe ill organize a tournament in february or march.

Until then, blackLOC let me borrow Street Fighter 4 so I will play it when I have the time. Whoever is trying to improve, let me know and ill set up something where we can play SERIOUS MATCHES once every week or so.
