I’m planning on going with one of my non-srk friends. If you’ve got space for the two of us I would love to not have to drive!
Only one I vaguely remember is that big GG tourney Jason Kim had, that was a lot of fun
Good times! I think that was like right after Slash came out. Clayton took me and some dudes aside and showed us all the neat glitches and stuff. He also repped Ky pretty hard in the tournament. Also of note was Sean Howard being asleep most of the time, and waking up just to steamroll people and go back to bed. Also of note was the fact that Jason Kim was there. Oh yeah! and we got FREE CHICKEN! Yeah, that’s probably going to go down as the best tournament experience of all time. No venue fee neither if I remember right.
An OSU tournament would be awesome. I would like to see a lot more tournaments in Columbus.
When I look out across Columbus I only see 2 people who take SFIV seriously (one is myself). All I see is garbage. So I think it is time we see who the kind of this pile of trash is.
So in the spirit of that I am going to host a Columbus tournament to find the best. This is open to everyone in Columbus and if you live within 45 miles from 270.
Entry will be 10 bucks and winner will take all and the title king of Columbus.
I will cover the cost of the venue but I do need help with setups.
I am working on the trophy will post it up when I am done.
I am shooting for end of February.
HAHA
Yeah Sean was in zombie mode that day, ahhhh memories
Clint gl with that tourney idea, thanks for stepping up
Street Fighter IV snuggie trophy.
When I have the money, I’ll think about transferring.
Yo, I’ll go but I don’t feel like spending.
Would Columbus SFIV players be interested in a PowerUp 2010 main event featuring them in a SFIV 5v5 round robin between Cincy, Dayton (or Cincy/Dayton), Cleveland, Indianapolis, and possibly Northern Kentucky, Michigan, and Pennsylvania?
It would probably run SBO elimination style. I’m almost positive that we’ll be able to provide bonus prizes to the winning team, just not too sure what those prizes will be just yet.
If not enough players are playing SFIV, then perhaps we could combine Cleveland/Columbus? Anyway, let me know what you think and if there are Columbus players who would be interested. It could always switch to a 3v3 round robin if not enough players could be found from each city.
I think columbus have more than enough talent pool to have a team of 5. The thing is, it’s just hard to get some of them to get out to the tourney scene, so they are relatively still unknown. I have few of my friends in OSU who are really really good, but just wont travel to play…plus they are in Engineering school and such. Marcell knows one of them, my boy Kelun. He’s already got a really mean Rog, Bison and Akuma. Another is Eric Son, he got a crazy ken with sick mixup games… But yeh, im working on them to get em out. haha. We have Chris Ramdeen, who knows Chris Hatala personally, plays decent honda, even though he takes HDRemix more seriously than SF4. He was on my team at SB4.
But yeh, maybe we can run a qualifier for it? hahah.
it’s a shame that dandyj stopped playing. he’s really good.
It would be no trouble getting 5 players. My comment earlier about no one taking SFIV seriously was more to get everyone stirred up. Trying to talk smack has never been my strong suit.
I agree Henry we should have a qualifier.
I bet Dandy J might come out for it. I dont know if he would qualify, played him the other day and he is looking a little weak.
It’s looking like the main event may become a 3v3 to allow for the event to run smoother. I’m sure Arcade Legends will host a qualifier, and perhaps it can be for Cincy, Dayton, and C-bus to determine their respective 3 person teams.
I might start playing IV some more. I’ll prob enter singles at least.
I’d be more interested in an HD team tourney.
More than enough talent to go around here.
I’d say a qualifier during the tournament if you’re running it next year would be pretty good, shame about Dandy, yeah. His Sagat is good, but I’d like to see his Seth.
Well he did say he was going to play when Super came out, if Super comes out around the same time as Power up 2010, chances are we will see him play again.
Good call San, Who knows if I will still be playing SSFIV.
I will probably start playing SFIV more when Super comes out as well, especially with team battle and stuff, and if the netcode is better so I can actually play against randoms without worrying about every match lagging noticeably
hell, it lags noticeably against AviH and he lives right down the goddamn street, where the hell is there room for lag there
Dude SFIV Net code is playable, but it will be nice to have team rooms.
Is that an if “I will still be playing”?
If anyone has an .edu email address and doesn’t have plans to get Windows 7, I need you to pm me.
I need another discounted copy.
I’ve had nothing but bad experiences with the netcode as of late. Be it on PC, 360 with wired connection, etc. I can’t stand that shit. Ask AviH, he experienced the weird lag too and he lives right down the street. I wasn’t torrenting, not doing anything else other than playing it online.
I never have much problem at all. Didn’t we just play on PC the other night? Seemed fine then.
What is the latest any1 is leaving to go to AL on Wednesday?
