You’d have to consult Brent about gaming night, stick vs. Pad it’s all preference, WolfKron plays Pad Viper and he’s GDLK at execution. Personally, I could do both, as I used to play Alex on pad, and then switched to Stick. That private party thing sounds like it’s going to cost some money though… some, hope you’re willing to pull it out of your pay check.
Well it’d sure as hell beat driving down to Arcade Legends for the weekend to play tournaments out there. (No offense AL.) Once again though, it’s all preference. You got the stick, and then you have the option to put in authentic Arcade Parts and stuff in there. If you can organize it though, that’d be cool.
Give it a month, I’ll be as old as WaInut. as for newer people who happen to be in the C-bus scene, yeah that might be a problem. But hey, I don’t drink so I suggest that if you guys have soda, that might work.
if you want to take your game to the next level invest in a stick. you can buy either a TE or buy parts and you can talk to some people here and they’d do everything for a fee.
Didn’t see your response in IRC Lucky, would you still put a cthulu in my TE for free if I got new screws and bought the cthulu?
No biggie, I know someone else that can do it for free for me. He hasn’t done a Cthulu mod before, but has built sticks, etc. before. Shouldn’t be any problems as long as he follows the picture by picture guide right?
I’d like to do a tourney in Cle again soon since we haven’t had one since Midnoon Mass years ago. I think with SFIV now you can put a tourney anywhere and it can be successful though
Problem is OH weather. It would have to be spring, possibly around Final Round.
Yeah, it’s easy, he should be able to handle it. And Toodles provides support in the thread.
If it was an emergency I would help out, but right now I have too many projects and not enough time to do it for free.
I would be all for helping putting a smaller tourney together, especially because that space looks pretty cool. Something small monthly or bi-monthly would be cool too, but too soon after SBIV to be worrying about that. Got AL coming up in a couple weeks again too.
If you throw it I’ll be there. Fuck, I’ve never even been to Cleveland now that I think of it.
Also Ghaleon your mailbox is full and I was trying to pm you, hit me up with a pm if you get a chance to go through and empty some out.
Sean Howard once told me that weather is an excuse not to play, that being said, he was playing Tekken 6 at a GW while It was pouring cats and dogs outside. Still… I do agree, Spring or Fall is the best time to do tournaments in Ohio.
Edit : Also Lucky Day - I lied, i found Ensurance Fraud in Saints Row 2. Funnest Side mission I’ve done so far.
Daigo is the eternal king of street fighter. forever.
imma quote laoshu when he was watching daigo play on one of his youtube vids…
“OHH MY GAWD,…THAT COMBO WAS SLOPPY!”
also brents camera da shiznit (CANNNONNNNN!!!)
SH_ is right, weather is not a valid excuse to not do something. He use to come over my house in a car with no heat, and drive it to tournaments. My friend drove TVs to the OSU tournaments we use to have in his convertible, top down, in february. Try missing a court date and tell judge you couldnt make it because of the “weather”, watch what happen.
I will upload my footage to youtube sometime this week.
Since you have to plan for MI/IN/PA/KY/IL/NY potentially all coming down, if you want to run a semi-big tourney you need to plan around weather in OH no real reason to do anything in the winter since you can wait a couple months and not be at as much of a risk of a blizzard.
more power to ElvenShadow for running Frosty Faustings though.
I will be hosting Tekken6 BR weeklies at my apartment in Columbus. I was trying to decide on a day, but I want to be mindful of tekken sessions at GW Cincy. Ideally, I was thinking Thursday is perfect. That means the first session would be Thursday, Oct. 29…
This would mean casuals at my place once a week from around 6PM until 11PM or possibly later. I have one setup, so someone could bring another setup if they would like. I also have another tiny tv/vcr combo with a/v plugs on the front.
It is my intention to grow the scene here in Columbus and Ohio in general. Anyone willing to come out is welcome as long as they respect house rules. I don’t wan an animal house. That means everyone comes with gaming on their minds, humble pie in their mouths, and no strange smells. Oh, and check your shoes at the door
I look forward to seeing everyone in the central Ohio area at my place very soon.
PM me if you need my address and phone number. Always be sure to call ahead of time or check the boards in case our tekken session is cancelled or moved to another day.
A singles double elim tournament will also be held at my place on a day of the month TBD. I think Columbus is ideal for an Ohio monthly, because it sits directly between Cleveland and KY/Cincy.
What are your thoughts? I will repost this in the other Ohio threads.
