Wasn’t feeling great today so stayed home and watched the stream on my couch out of fear of spreading disease to the masses.

i still use a pad. i need some one to convince me the advantage of useing a stick… or if its more for nostalgia reasons.
i work at a bar in Victorian Village. It has a down stairs bar thats used for private parties. ive been wanting to start up a gaming night there for some time. Has a 50ish inch tv, its own bar which if we had enough people show up, we’d have our own bartender. could put on some mini tournaments ect… i think its like 50 bucks (i could possible sweet talk the boss to over look the fee for a bit,)… so if you guys have some consoles/extra tvs/joysticks/controllers ect… i could bring my shit there as well and try to start something there. Unless you guys choose Game Works for a reason… (Never been a fan of the place).

Gameworks isn’t really our game night, it’s just something we do on occasion because the SFIV machine is there. Our ‘game night’ is at Brent’s, and all of the TVs and systems are pretty much already there, so I don’t think we’d have a need to move it.
Although that space does look pretty cool, it might be bad to run a small tourney there or something. We have at least one under-18s though, so if it’s an 18-over bar then it might not work out.
I’m always a fan of gaming/drinking and having a 50 inch TV for tourney finals never hurts.
As for the joystick question, if you’re really comfortable and you can compete on a pad, there’s no harm in keeping with it. But most people find at some point it limits their execution and ability to do some more advanced combos, especially when all of the buttons aren’t on the face of the pad.
You’re also at the mercy of the dpad which isn’t nearly as accurate as a stick.
well its a 21 and up bar (but hey, im the door guy- i can pull some strings if necessary ;D)
i do think a tournament should happen again soon. i just need to find out where all the gamers are hiding in columbus.
get me the info on your guy’s spot, and if you have room for one more… id be willing to join up. maybe you guys can convince me to fork up some dough for a stick.
