Combos in general don’t do that much damage. Most bnb’s are doing 20-30% damage. People are seeing these training mode vids of ppl doing 80% combos by using full meter and they’re like OMG BROKEN! But, those combos are not only conditional thus far(corner, full meter, etc.) but they are also mostly started from stuff that’s gonna get blocked most of the time (telegraphed jump ins etc.). If u get hit by stuff like that, you deserve it IMO. Plus, there are combo breakers too. It seems the way most combos start are from mixup strings up close, which will mostly lead to the aforementioned bnbs.
This isn’t to say there COULD be busted stuff down the line, but so far the only crazy things we’ve seen are just training mode flashy stuff videos.

HA, did my first Babality. God, it’s so adorable that it’s approximately 100 times more humiliating to be the receiving end of one single Babality than the goriest Fatality. Against Kung Lao, he tosses his hat, then a hell hound (his animality from MK3 if I’m not mistaken) knocks him over trying to chase the hat and Kung Lao cries. Against Sektor, he starts to play with a missile. Then the missile goes off, carrying him into space, then drops him on his butt and he starts to cry lol
Apparently they don’t have a requirement, just that you have to do them from a jump distance, and that you can’t do them in the Fatality Trainer.
FINALLY finished the story mode. That is a sexy story mode, and although a lot of important people died (and by important I mean that Johnny Cage is one of the people who do not die, that asshole) it ties in the story from the first 3 MK games together rather smoothly, leaving you at the very end with a tie-in to the story in MK4, possible leading to a sequel way down the road.
Sort of shuts up that douche who posted about fighting game storylines sucking.
Worth to note: I hate doing tag battles by myself with no partner. Especially when I’m Cyber Sub-Zero. And I’m fighting Goro and Kintaro. Fucking A.

Said partner-less tag battle devolved, after almost 10 tries, into becoming some sort of Yun/Yang fight… near and far divekicks until they died.
At least Cyber Sub can combo a regular jumping attack into them.

@ Cola: I’ll be having casuals at my house today after 5pm instead of 3pm, due to ish that must be taken care of. Also, after messing with Ermac yesterday, he’s definitely gonna be my main. His teleport mixups/fireballs are gdlk and surprisingly the game movement feels a lot more fluid than what most people said. I may actually give MK a legitimate chance, but I’ll probably wait for the price to go down before I get it.

Fuck MK9 for making Jade be complete ass. Why does my bitch have to be complete ass? I somehow blame Pat for this because only he has the power to make characters he absolutely hates into shit tier in the next installment of the game.
Just picked up my copy of MK9, i’ll finally get a chance to sit down with it today and find a character i like. I was leaning toward cyber sub-zero but keyon informed me that he’s apparently a terrible character. Ohh well, plenty of characters on the roster to choose from. When it came to mortal kombat i never did have a “main”.
I’m so hype for tomorrow. Anyone coming from Cola besides Keyon/Dwaine?
Also, I have officially dropped every other game for MK until TTT2. (Not that I will refuse to play anything else, but it’s very unlikely I’m going to put time/effort into anything else)
