Columbia, SC: We Won't Leave Until We Make A Sale

Looks like I know what silk button up shirt to get Thomas for his birthday! Is it over… 9000?

Dwaine: I’m driving up early Saturday morning. I was going to head up after work Friday, but deer are awake now.

@ Eskay: I’m going to buy Portal 2 tomorrow. It’s funny that one game trailer and a review on G4 got me sold on the game. Hopefully, it’s as good as people claim.

@ U-Volt: I can game share it with you, since I haven’t shared anything with anyone yet.

@ Cola: How many people are heading to Myrtle Beach this weekend? I would go but I’m staying home to drop my brother off at the bus stop that evening. If the majority of you plan on going, then I’ll hold off having casuals Saturday because I don’t wanna pull away any people who were gonna make the trip.

I’m also having casuals on Friday after 3pm, if anyone wants to come by (I finally got the AC fixed, lol).

@Jaguar: Thanks! Feel free to take anything I have on my account too. I look forward to your pm, sir :).

Also, what system are most of you getting Portal 2 on? I got it on PS3, b/c you get a free PC version with it. I’m lookin for some co op action sometime, hit me up!

@Jaguar: arrrrggghhhh!!! now im jealous!!! I really REALLY want portal 2. But no matter how much i want it. I cant justify AH3, MK9, Portal 2, and a trip to Mrytle Beach all in one week. Thats just too much money. Which leads to the next subject. As much as i’d like to go to MB im probably not going to go. Gas prices are terrible and they are getting worse by the day. Spending $50 a week just to get to work is already a pain in my wallet. Spending it on a 1-2 day trip is certainly out of the question. So i think i’ll opt for a “stay-cation” this weekend. Ohh and also, if you want an idea of how portal plays, i could always give you access to my steam account and you can just try out the first portal. Certainly theres alot of hype surrounding it and the sequel that might set expectations way too high, but I can personally say that its a really good and unique puzzle game that was worth the 4-5 hours i put into it.

@U-volt i’ll most likely get the ps3 version but i’ll be playing it on the PC since im a stickler for playing “shooters” and “shooter-type” genres on a mouse and keyboard. Fortunatly the PC and PS3 version work together as for as co-op is concern.

OMG As long as it’s Vegeta on the front I’ll SO wear it! You know just how much I love DBZ and all.

But seriously… button up shirts? D: As far as MK9 goes, I am interested, but not to the point that I’d be hype over it.

Please play the first Portal before you dive into portal 2, as it is a continuation of the story from what i believe. As much as i’m an advocate of Steam and steam games, (all of them). I have not been really following portal 2 that much. I’d much rather want half-life 2: Episode 3 to freaking drop. >_>, but knowing how steam does things things with half-life, it won’t be for another 3-4 years.(good god) I’ll probably find a not torrent, and not download portal 2 in the futures if it comes down to it. Or just buy on me steams account.

tell me about it!

You are definitely right about that.

The very beginning even features some of the first testchambers. Since Portal was supposed to be much longer (I think they ran out of money or something?), it’s pretty much a training mode for what Portal 2 becomes.

And of course, the writing is extremely funny, sarcastic and witty.

“Earlier when I was talking about useless garbage laying around, I was talking about you. Since you didn’t react to it I thought it may have gone over your head, which explains why I just called you garbage a second time now.”

GLaDOS is crazy.

I fucking Love MK9, I finished the entire MK story mode in one sitting, and that’s fucking rare for me to do since I got a job. Literally popped the game in at 5pm yesterday, didn’t turn off my xbox till 2 am. What the fuck. Story mode was corny as shit but in that Awesome MK way. Fucking loved it. Spent some time in the lab with reptile.

He’s still one nasty ass motherfucker.

Fucking Love this game… But disclaimer: I am an MK *** to begin with. I played a Little bit online. So far the game feels great and plays great. Now I need to cross my fingers that the game doesn’t quickly degenerate into shit in the competitive/gameplay department.

@guitalex It wasn’t them really running out of money but, Portal was just suppose to be a small project. From what i can remember, Portal was, in the beginning conceptualized by a small group i think in cali as a graduation project for their college. Steam happened to see it and were like “hey, thats an amazing idea”, and with the help of their resources created portal. They never thought it would be such a hit as to why we now have portal dos.

Agreed on all counts so far. The game feels awesome, and seems like it could be viable in competitive play for a long time. Unfortunately the online sucks so far, with significant input delay in every match I’ve had.

Oh, and Reptile is also my main lol. Have you checked the testyourmight forums yet? They have a pretty awesome guide up for Reptile that already has some damaging combos and some interesting info on pressure strings. Check it out: Reptile

Keep spittin dat acid dawg…

@Kimchi: you are correct sir, although when you say “Steam” you actually mean Valve. :stuck_out_tongue: A similar thing happened with Left 4 dead. (small grp bought by valve, and then turned into awesome juggernaught)

OH god, it’s been too long, i forgot it’s valve.

I have the urgue to play MK9 but sadly I have no money

I’m super late,but…

I take it AH is good, according to you all?

Thomas: With like, an hour of training mode, the only opinion I have right now is that MK9 has the potential to still be a very, very good game. The team seemed like they were on point with trying to balance the game as much as possible. I got excited at being able to do 71% in the corner with Kung Lao (I saw 81% O_O), but it required X-Ray which could have probably been used for a Breaker or two EX moves. It also required the corner and landing a jump kick, which doesn’t exactly happen every day. It appears that you get the choice being safe with strings for low damage, canceling into specials at the risk of being punished, or stopping at a random point and resetting your offense. I like it, but it still has the potential to be stupid… we’ll see.

Dave:Noooooooooo! :frowning: Next time sir! <3

Who are you playing in MK?

Tekken!!!

EDIT: Stopped feeling bad

@icege, I can’t really get into MK man, Characters are doing too much damage…You get hit once, and you already lost.

Is it that bad? From what I’ve been reading and hearing, if it leads to significant damage, it’s punishable.

@Icege: I play Kung Lao and I need to mess with more of the cast.

Nah, it’s because I can’t kill people in one combo in blaz. I’m not used to taking so much damage, it’s gonna take a while to get used to.
