It’s not really worth the meter but I’ve been using them alot anyway lol. I havn’t tested the damage either.

Finding the U2 damage nerf really noticeable when hitting counter hit into ultra, often when I’m sure it would kill they’d have a small chunk of health left :(.

Side note: Dudleys st.hp can actually beat cr.lk now lol!

For 3 meter you can do comparable damage with regular fadc. Anyway almost only use EXRFDC when i have Ultra stocked…

I’m not even bothering with RF combos with Cody. It’s purely a defensive tool to get out of multi hits/respect free damage/back the hell off of me.

Has the back throw safe jump disappeared? I tried it against evil ryu and Seth yesterday and the j hk would whiff and I’d land before my opponent, I’m fairly certain they weren’t using dwu.

It still works prolly mistimed it.

Anybody else using ultra 1 more? I’ve been connecting it from aa rk from ranges I believe it would have whiff previously :wink: plus ultra 2 damage is basically the same now 468/466

Safe jump os cr jab hits meaty vs delay wakeup and combos into fierce and fw mp… I like where this is going :wink:
Cr lp fmp clmp crhp works on most some push to far back.
Tested this on back throw hold up toward as well as manually timed jumps on viper gouken shotos.

I use Ultra 1 for characters that usually jump a lot (Rufus, Yun, Yang, Cammy, etc.) while I use Ultra 2 for everybody else.

This is what I did in in 2012 but I’m starting to switch in certain matchups ie grappler Honda gouken viper it seems more consistent now and U2 doesn’t have the same punch

U1 moves Cody slightly forward during the ultra freeze now. Just a tiny bit. That is why it hits from farther out now. It’s one of the unlisted changes I noted: Unlisted Changes in USF4

Plenty of characters play a lot like Cody or compliment him. Yun is a good choice. As is Cammy, Sakura, Ken, Evil Ryu, Dudley or Abel. All of those are pretty similar to Cody in many respects. Ken and Cammy are pretty much just Cody but better in how you approach matchups and how effective they are in them.

Akuma, Guile, Rose or Ryu can be good alts as well and provide different enough gameplay to offer you variety while also being helpful for many of Cody’s hard matchups.

Yun/Yang and Dudley IMO are nice picks. They both get in, stay in, and harass their opponent on their oki that favors you while still providing damage/stun.

Basically doing what Cody does but better and more easy. They also don’t suffer having a horrible back walkspeed. (along with Yang actually having a reversal option on wakeup.)

Sounds perfect to me. I like Yun a lot, and I would love to use Dudley, if it weren’t for the fact that he’s a bit difficult to use. His buffs to all his buttons make him a very tempting choice, though. As for a counterpick, I’ll use Rose. I’ll try not to use too many characters at once, because I’m still learning…but I appreciate the feedback!

Ok guys can we discuss how everyone is dealing with delayed wakeup? One of my favorite ways is to os crouch jab so it hits meaty, but this doesn’t cover all options obviously as it loses to some dwu reversals. I also find it difficult to perform dwu sometimes. Tips suggestions pls

Just mash it out. There is no need for timing for dwu.
