so use an empty button when your side by side. fake them out vs mash it out for real…

so what do you want? you want to know the specific timing for every hard knockdown for every character in the game? I told you the timing doesn’t matter because you can mash it out. You want your opponent not to hear your buttons? here are some techniques to avoid that.

Cut off their ears
Silent buttons
Don’t sit next to them
Empty Buttons
Turn the game music on so loud that they can’t even hear their own buttons

I’m sorry that thats all I can think of. I’m more worried about what is happening on screen than if my opponent is listening to my buttons.

Just had a thought; Bad Spray is FADCable, right? I know it can lead to juggles if timed correctly…I wonder if you can pull off Red Focus shenanigans off of that. Probably none that are useful, but…gotta try that out later.

No you can’t because badspray knocks down on hit.

Despite the damage nerf to Ultra 2 I still use it as a general all-purpose Ultra. I’d use Ultra 1 if I was more competent in landing it but I find I use my meter a lot and Ultra 2 helps balance that out.

U1 is just damage (that you can combo into), but U2 brings utility, new options and changes the pacing of the game just by having it.

Same invincibility as ultra 1. 7 frame startup makes it one of the fastest ultras. Not to mention it compliments his great frame trap game. Ultra 2 da best

Cody’s crLP/sLP with knife when rapid fire/chain canceled did not get the juggle potential change his normal versions did.

Also the change to Cody’s F+HK startup looks like it was done in a way that has a side benefit. It looks like now Cody becomes lower body invincible on 2F instead of 4F. I could be wrong in how I’m reading the files though.

any practical mid knife pickup combos?

I don’t think so. In case you land a jump in in the vicinity to it you can do some stuff, but even that adds not much damage.

I was hoping you’d get some CH cr.Fierce stuff but nope. Even on CH it still leads to cr.jab/s.jab stuff. nothing serious.

I’ve actually just been using it to cancel blocked normals to pick it up. Nothing fancy but guarantees a pickup and my opponent may think i’m going to throw a rock.

Imagine if block fierce knife pickup was plus on block :frowning: I want it

Has anyone figured out what this “buff” to ultra 2 is yet? I had this crazy idea that it would allow him to juggle into full hits easier. But that doesn’t seem to be the case. Or did we just get trolled by combofiend? Cause we all know that extra 40 damage on the ultra in conjunction with the zonk fadc-able buff, cody would be terrorizing the tournament scene. Kappa

It got it’s range increased by one small training block for a 40 damage nerf.

Had Ultra 1 cross under Adon in the corner today off EX Zonk FADC forwards, causing the ultra to whiff and me to end up cornered. Combination of walkspeed + step forward during U1?..

I think the damage nerf to ultra 2 comes from the idea that it was buffed with red focus. I’ve been landing a lot of light tornado -> RFC -> Ultra 2. In some situations, having the extra damage would’ve been cheesy I guess. Cody doesn’t seem like he’s much better than he was in AE, but I do think he is at least better.
