So I’ve seen the console changes that SRK posted… and they didn’t fix the super.

Super will be even less useful now with RF!

Hakan is going to be a lot worse than Hawk and Gief. EX CU was really good against him because it beat both his grabs and backdash isn’t a very good option as it gets scooped up by his diving grab. If he blocked EX CU he had to work a little to punish it, now he’ll just be able to SPD.

From the notes. You need to read more carefully. They did fix HK version just none of the other ones.

But the real thing is that the M Dead End Irony could be so much more if they actually fixed it. But noooo…

Never use the medium version of the super if your oponent is cornered.

EDIT: The buffs are fine. The zonk now being fadc’able is great and I also enjoy that some of his moves are now safer. I don’t mind that EX CU is now throwable (not that good anyway) but the fact that his super is broken and the oponent falls off prematurely on Medium and high version (specially on the medium version) annoys me a lot.

eh I never had an issue with any of them outside of H super. Even then, only time I really use super (or most to begin with.) is to finish the match off.

regardless, they still didn’t touch s.MK hitboxes with and without the knife.

Not gonna lie, seeing both walkspeed buffs and LP CU being safer made me squeal a bit. Not sure if I’m still gonna main him in Ultra(too many other characters I want to try), but he’ll definitely be at least a secondary now. =3

Do you actually use the super? Because I can hardly think of a time I’ve had use of it, outside of maybe finishing a game.
I dunno, it’s just something I never thought of, as I usually spend meter on other things than super.

LK Super would be useful if it moved faster because it’s fully invincible so it’s a better EX Ruffian. HK Super might be a viable anti air punish now. Other than that it’s not particularly good. Overall it’s a very situational super. It gives a bunch of corner carry which is nice.

I can count on 1 hand the amount of times the super has fucked me over in 4 years of playing Cody, and that has only happened with the HK version and a corner, also when used as an anti-air. I’ve never ever had the super fail me when used from a CU.

If EX CU will do it’s job atleast 90% of the time i’m happy, don’t want trades. Walkspeed buff is amazing…if it is enough, at this point i’ll take ANY improvement over his walkspeed(crosses fingers for better backward speed). LP CU being -4 is nice but not something i had high on my priority list of buffs…but whatever. cr.mk being improved is nice, when slightly spaced it will probably be almost imposible to punish on block and on hit might acttually be used to creat an offense. Improved backdash is again nice but from what people are saying it isn’t even noticeable. I’ll keep my excitement on the low side of things as i’m prepared to be thoroughly dissapointed by his changes when i see them in action and try them out myself. Have a feeling the people outside the COdy forums are talking Cody up as being significantly improved like in AE2012 and we all know how that ended up.

Cody’s one of those “got better cause others got worse” deals again.

problem though is most of the other characters actually got better or hardly touched in a bad way so they really just took away/gave enough that he not moving anywhere lol.

Though to be fair, no one’s been talking about Cody at all unless it’s what most of us have been saying/asking. Otherwise he basically went under the radar again.

Meanwhile though folks who didn’t need buffs got those buffs so I guess we need to make Cody look super cheap on stream and make top placings to make an actual difference.

Cody is like Hakan, in the way that no one understands the character enough to talk about him except those who play him.

Note: the nesica patch notes which detail arcade to console version changes DON’T mention reverting the nerf to F+HK from 14F to 15F startup. There is a pretty good chance it’s still in :frowning:

The notes mention reverting most other changes to characters (such as Yun’s command throw nerfed range or reverting the buff on Ken’s crMK)

Things were looking a bit grim before they added the walkspeed and safer LP criminal upper buffs. All things considered, Cody is looking good heading into Ultra.

I still think ex cu will be the change we talk about most in 1 month or 2.

the EX CU change doesn’t bother me considering it’s horrible as a wakeup move and always was. Which then questions why the pushback got nerfed. (a lot of EX moves became much more unsafe in this version as opposed to being “unsafe”)

I think it’s handy versus chars who may be likely to do light meaty attacks on your wakeup, like Dudley or the twins. It’s also good if you’ve downloaded your opponent’s tick/walk up throw patterns because it frees you up from charging EX Zonk.

I’m scared that ex cu could be punished by zangief and maybe others with their command throws, zangief even with super or ultra, I don’t know. Did anyone test this with the USF Mod?
