Yeah I think she meant he got worse relative to the other characters, he’s slightly better in my opinion but a lot of matches have gotten harder on paper.
I’m still having nightmares with the EX CU being throwable, I use this move a lot… :-/
It will be interesting to see which character is worst in the game! My guess at this point, just on a hunch, would be Dee Jay or Cody.
well time will tell. Cody isn’t bad still IMO. He still needs help but it’s not like he can’t do anything.
annnd last I checked Dee Jay was looking rather solid at the moment. (or rather zoners in general.)
Deejay can’t be the worst. His change list is about 13 changes. And 11 are buffs. Cody is about 50/50
That’s not how balance works. You could make a character significantly better with 1 change that is only a 1F difference. Lots and lots of changes could result in very little if they aren’t good or useful.
Imagine if the only buff Cody got was his crLK is 2F startup now. No other changes. Just that one change would shoot him up the tier list faster than you can say band wagon.
I dunno who is the worst but I can’t see it being Cody. At the very least I expect Cody still overall outclasses Dan and Blanka. Not to mention the fact that a lot of the characters that are currently around his strength in AE2012 are still going to be prone to counterpicks. THawk, Dhalsim, ect these characters are much more easily counterpicked than Cody who doesn’t have any MU worse than 7-3 IMO (keep in mind, I view 7-3 as “advantage” while I view 6-4 as “slight advantage” I think there are a lot of 7-3s in the game that people call 6-4s)
He’ll still be solid, even if mostly everyone else gets better and he basically stayed the same he’ll still be a solid character if not really exceptional in any way other than stun output (which he is still not even top 5 and it’s probably the area he excels in the most besides far reaching meterless whiff punishes)
So apparently USFIV got more changes…haven’t heard a word on Cody
Mr. Pavy said he can’t see any differences. EX Criminal Upper still throwable, no apparent walk speed buff.
Kinda lost hope at this point, I think they’re more likely to take away the buffs they gave him, than give him new ones lol.

No idea if they touched backwards speed though.
I really wonder what he means by that though. by “really fast” I mean just increasing his walk speed by 2 points would make him still well below average but the animation would make him look like he is walking much faster than he is.
I really hope they tweaked his backwards and forwards but I’ll be happy with ANY walk speed buff.
Air said it’s almost as fast as Ryu’s walkspeed
So still below average.
Plenty for me, I just hope that they adjusted backwards at least SOMEWHAT. If Cody is like 0.0425 forward and still 0.024 backwards that’d be silly.

Backwards would probably be better, yeah, but forward helps both his pressure and his throw game. I’ll take it.
I’m eager to see some video footage, last time someone said that Cody got a walk speed buff he clearly didn’t.
At this point I’ll take anything.
I’m really disappointed with the way Capcom handled our character.
Useless buffs (knife). Tools that put you at a disadvantage upon use (Fake rock).
At least we get the gimicky tool of Airborne Crack kick (8th Frame).
I’m almost hoping someone from Capcom working on SF leaves and starts a kickstarter like the Mighty No. 09 for Street Fighter.
I don’t think there’s anything gimmicky about airborne crack kick. It has its uses but the biggest “gimmick” is seeing a visual airborne move get hit by low moves.
though to be fair. i’m disappointed in how everyone’s overall getting treated in Ultra ATM. Capcom doesn’t even seem like they know what to do at this point considering they have a general base to go off of. (even if it’s a rough base aka fans.) The best thing out of anything is delayed wakeup.

Forward walkspeed buff, really? Combined with a better backdash, I’m actually pretty satisfied now. Obviously depending on how much faster his walkspeed is.
