Cobra Kai - new Karate Kid sequel series, coming to YouTube Red

Maybe man am just calling it how i see it lol, binged the whole thing early in the morning i wasnt taking notes.

Yeah, I wasn’t taking notes either, but I personally relate to a lot of things the show was talking about so I was really paying attention as i was watching it. It just did that good of a job drawing me in as a viewer

what? hawk def changed 1000% …we watching the same show?? he was shy, timid, cared about other peoples opinions, sensitive about his facial deformity. By the end he was fighting random kids for shits and giggles. Im not really sure how you can say he didnt change.

Like the vibe i got from him was he was so pressed he didnt get to express himself, he was shy and all that, and then he got shown the way to just express himself. Like he changed in his expression but you got the gist this was his true self and if everybody wasnt pissing down his back this is the way he wanted to be.

If only that Dimitri kid would get the same transformation the rest of his friends did. He a bitch and a leech.

was he the kid Hawk did the boot to the face in the park too? Lil dude with the specks. Hawks kid lol?

Dmitri is the pessimistic nerd who quit Cobra Kai after one lesson. The kid who tried to shit talk Lawrence and got his ass handed to him for his trouble.

I think he’s going to end up in Larusso’s dojo.

i’d like to see more “what if” or “where are they now” shows just like this about 70s and 80s movies and tv shows.
if youtube red was smart they’d be scrounging for 80s IPs right now to do exactly what they did here.
as for will smith. smith made up for the painful jackie remake. sure jackie was great. as usual. its just that EVERYONE hates jaden.
we just do.

Yea but you hating him has fuck all to do with his quit good performance or the quality of the movie.

I want someone to give some 80’s animated series a proper ending: Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, first and foremost,

It did seem kind of a quick turnover with Diaz, but I thought it was set up decently well over the course of the season because there’s no other way for it to end, following Cobra Kai’s 3 commandments. That’s why Johnny was so reluctant to teach them the final commandment of Cobra Kai(No Mercy). He knew that specific teaching point changed something inside of you in turns you into an animal. Being founded by 'Nam vets that had PTSD it was always built on a rocky foundation. But as Diaz its kind of hard to go against the teachings of Kai after all the confidence in himself it gave himself after years of getting shit on living his mother’s pacifist lifestyle(Balance). I would feel loyalty to it too.

Plus lets face it as broke brown or black kids some of y’all niggas would feel insecure too if you’ve been begging your girl all along to come see the fam and one day you see Yung Val Kilmer got invited to the dinner and you didn’t. They are kids that aren’t fully developed enough to wait the situation out.

I always thought Robby looked like Jonathan Brandis 2.0

He was the first person I thought of when I saw Robby lol

i like how in this karate kid world…the rules apparently changed so you can face hit in an under 18 divison lmfao.

Actually Johnny himself points out that the Crane Kick Daniel beat him with was illegal. But Cobra Kai didn’t exactly have a leg to stand on when it came to that shit, pun not intended.

no i mean the new tournament. The original tournament face attacks were illegal, but in the new tournament there were a bunch of face hits.

Think about two things.

  1. Dwindling tournament attendance means they probably became more lenient on certain rules to try and drive up interest.

  2. Daniel LaRusso, aka the man who won with an illegal face attack, would of course be more than willing to make it so face attacks become legalized.

one of the things i loved about this show is they basically confirmed every fuckin theory i had about johnny. Mainly the ptsd stuff. As well as went over all the shady shit daniel did, like we tend to have nostaligia goggles on for 80s movies. But alot of that shit they did was creepy, stalkerish and in the case of porkys…straight up rape lmfao.

Also Mike Barnes is coming back for Season 2 (assuming there is a Season 2, but it seems immensely likely and the actor confirmed he was coming back for it).
