Also, a thing I don’t see Strider players doing is Form C–> Cross under–> fake Coss under–>etc.
It’s a much more guaranteed 50/50 setup.

have you ever considered that i may be referring to solo strider without x factor? but great advice from you sir. either way pervy can make whatever he wants to make as long as he makes it. I was just throwing my suggestion out there.
Then you should of said “solo”. Anchor suggests something totally different than “solo”. Anchor suggests Xfactor in most cases to mop up what’s left of the team.
Either way, it’s arguing semantics.
Hi folks! I’m a new Strider player and I have many questions:
1- Which basic BnBs are the best for Strider, I want to learn at least one for midscreen and another for the corner
2- I have tried the first combo of the combo topic but I can’t land l after the satellite hit and wall cling x( my succes overall with that is 1/10 in training mode
3- What I have to do with xf3 ouroboros? my oponent always recovers after a few hits while I’m mashing
4- Is Jam Session a good assist for Strider? (My team is Phoenix Wright - Dante - Strider)
5-What can I do after a grab? with and without assist
If you can give some tips I would be great sorry for my english, is difficult to me express myself
Thanks in advance!
Getting back to basics and the neutral game with strider i’m starting to use him more like a shoto. Throwing tigers bird bomb tiger has actually been working out pretty well for me. I generally try to have an orb summoned even though the main objective is to get as many animals out as possible. So my question is has anyone figured out a way to make his animals as annoying as possible. Usually i’m backed by zero hadagenki powered up so a full set of projectiles 2 tigers 2(hadagenki) +1 orb fired ends up in roughly 80k worth of chip relatively safely…of course you have to watch out for beam supers if they have them but once the string is started its pretty tight. my other assist is vergil sometimes i opt to go for a blockstring call vergil into the spin slash move then toss orb to keep it safe. Later on i’ll post some hard numbers regarding the chip damage if anyone cares. This is also a decent way to build meter…since most ppl are just expecting strider to teleport because he can.
Yeah, throwing out the zoo and THEN teleporting out of nowhere is a very good idea for neutral because Form A1, A2, and B have fast recovery times and the bird bomb has tons of durability. While it won’t win projectile wars, it will keep you somewhat safe from most offenses.
Yeah a strat that i’m working on is lulling the opponent into thinking i want a projectile war then calling vergil…before he shows on screen doing a boosted df.H when they attempt to beam etc. leads into a rapid slash hit still working on the kinks for risk/reward. Strider’s dash df.h into an assist hit is very good and safer than teleporting a lot of times.
tiger=24k chip, Birb bomb, gram=27k chip, hadagenki 21k=chip each blade, orb=21k in chip, rapid slash=10k per block in chip (variable) usually 3 blocked hits.
Just as a disclaimer this is not fool proof or guaranteed or anything…just very annoying to deal with especially for characters who depend on clear skies to get in. mags doom sent etc.
(w/orb) Tiger, call zero, Tiger(bird. use the bird if they approach through the air) dash, St. H gram, throw orb, vergil dash up Mxx tiger, vergil pushes them across the screen. from here you have quite a few options but that string if they blocked it all does 170k. tested this vs akuma’s beam there are some periods where he could potentially beam you but for the most part you can block during those situations once it gets going he has enough space to attempt a super but gets knocked out of it before it fires.
Been playing Strider since MvC1 and just picked up this game.
So hi everyone!
Been trying to find some Strider TAC stuff. Anyone have anything? Been trying Down TAC to (strider comes in) j.H, QCF L, j.H, QCF L and then tiger kneeing the QFC L. I don’t think I have the execution. Maybe the recovery time is too much. I can manage maybe 1 or 2 TK’d QCF L but that’s it.
Strider is terrible to tac into unless you intend to do a tac infinite and I’ve yet to see anyone post a strider variation off every tac. If you want to tac id suggest running strider on point as he actually has great tac setups for chars with easy tac infinites and for leveling Frank. Strider 2nd is kinda meh anyway.

Strider/Frank is pretty legit.
What I usually do is hitconfirm–> Call Cart–> Call Form B–> Continue Hit confirm–> Excalibur Loop–> Bird Bomb–> Form B–> Wall Cling, LMH, Gram H, Call form B,Gram L, Form B shot,Vajra, Legion–> DHC to Frank ST–> Knee Drop at end of legion–> Pic.
Don’t use your assist one when you have strider on point and are trying to level Frank. Strider tac to Frank any direction you can do Frank loops then s. Call strider…picture…picture…its a free level 4. Position doesn’t matter…you might have to dash for the picture… into picture.its not hard .
Also if you have 2 bars you can combo into zoo…immediately qcb super Frank. It whiffs …then wait call strider…picture …picture. its a little tricky. Haven’t labed to see if there’s anything easier. Also I’m positive you could raw tag Frank off a gram wall bounce but I’m not sure

The problem with the lone picture–> picture setup is that legion is random; so some formations are long enough and give off enough hitstun to allow a double snap, while others don’t.
You could use you Shopping Cart when you have Strider on point, it adds a good number of hits and if your combo is fine, you should have no issues getting to level 4 with it.
dont know if people already know this but after doing wall cling ground bounce Gram H gram M cancel into formation B then wall cling and the opponent rolls backwards strider wont wall cling but end up going behind for a split second then in-front of the opponent
in short strider will do a cartwheel across the screen end up behind for a split second then in-front and if they dont block the formation B u have enough time to call another formation B and then combo them
WHAT. I’ve never heard about this. Video, please?
i dont know if theres a video for it. .
EDIT: i think to make it work strider clings to the wall then when the camera shifts to the left side of the stage it screws with the corner of the screen so strider automatically falls off the wall
hey,
long time active member had my old account deleted back in the mvc2(scrub/msp) days so im not new to this anyways(lol inside when ppl ask what an otg is haha)...I have recently started looking at styder on point and I played lots of teams looked at the game for lots of angels. I was a sent/dorm/dante--then sent/dorm/hagger--mag/viper/sent--mag/sent/hagger--wesker/sent/hagger--wesker/viper/sent--wesker/viper/frank--wesker/vergil/frank--mag/doom/frank--zero/vergil/hagger(like the team but don't know) but at the end of the day I have not found a home yet. Just looking for some opinions on the matter, please not looking to get into arguments or flame wars over the topic. Just your thoughts on the matter of styder and thought a little bit of background on my mind set of the game.
A character that I really enjoy is stryder on point to me but I have tried a couple of teams so far. The goal of stryder on point IMO is for chip, lockdown and resets(he doesn't do damage) so I need a team that can benefit from the meter building. What nonsexualrice is saying about frankwest is right stryder/frank is legit and I paired the two up with vergil or zero(stryder/vergil-zero/frank) but I won't focus on leveling frank up. Nonsexualrice hit on the nail its not consistant and switiching around team mates with a team the breaks if you breath on them is a gamble. The risk reward is just not there and there is not a lvl5 frank west of a styrder combo. I am focusing on stryder and vergil-zero winning the fight not frank IMO his an assist on this team. Like what psylocke(Frank west, just not as good.) is to msp but IMO focusing on more resets, lockdown and chipdamage for stryder is what I feel is better for the team, Building lots of meter for vergil-zero. That way vergil-zero has stryder assist to control the air and frank to lock the oppenet down on the ground with lots of meter for swords/loops. Honestly though I am looking to have a trap team more then anything else. I tried stryder, vergil-zero, frank for a bit...then felt that stryder, vergil-zero, doom(rocks/beam-maybe hidden miss but trying something different) was better. Its well rounded and covers run away teams and everything else a bit better, then the team with frank as an assist. The team stryder/vergil-zero/doom feels balanced on all the topics a team needs to touch on, it controls ground/midscreen air space but not the top of the screen(guess thats what missiles is for) but I have been thinkging a lot of dropping doom and adding strange for the bolts action.
Thus giving stryder longer lock down with animals, ord shoot(sorry forgot the name of it), teleport resets and wall cling. Stryder doesn’t really do damage and orbs being level 3 makes me feel like this BS! capcom but vergil gets the championship belt O_o
After reading the mindset of nemo's team and one of the reasons bolts is used is that it forces your oppenet to stand up into them. So we all know where I am going with this. This give stryder all the options that he gets off frank/doom but just a bit slower on start up but IMO I feel stryder loses a decent amount or a lot of air space control and will force oppenets to just storm run-away tactics. If stryder does catch them with teleport kick into bolts(making it safe) its gonna hurt because stryder can dch into swords/loop(maybe) or hope to create a combo that can hard tag in vergil/zero/strange. After dching into swords/loops from the trample(zoo) or hardtag into vergil/zero/strange, vergil/zero have stryder assist for the air and bolts for ground lockdown, resets, chip and loops. Only thing I feel is a problem is wolv because his normals(have not looked into stand L start up) at the start of the fight, morrigan is just hawking her down and killing her(end of story but overall a good team) and then theres zero...so yea anyways I rambled on enough.
P.S jill is only good on paper sorry I lurked in her forums for a while and tried some stuff out but yea for now, thats just how I feel about it but it might change.
p.s.s I feel that doom hidden missiles and hagger assist counter stryder assist.
From recently picking up Strider an an anchor, I am instantly seeing that XF3 Ouroboros isn’t worth it as a main game plan. Use it if it will work and free to use at the time, but it seems highly self damaging to go through a bunch of trouble in a clutch moment just to get into Ouroboros, which can be stuffed on start up. He has viable zoning (insofar as it’s used as cover or distraction or pokes, not dedicated zoning) that helps him get in and start long, self OTGable combos. He has two OTGs, speed, a wallbounce, a ground bounce, high priority normals, and tons of hit stun in his moves. He has a double jump if I remember correctly, so he’s not completely free to incoming mix ups. He is slept on in a weird way IMO.
That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. If you tried out her stuff (lol975K for two bars), Multi-salting,etc. You would therefor see it’s not only paper she’s good on
I hate when people say stupid shit like this and contradict themselves in the next sentence without checking out true Theory-Jill players gameplay
She has pretty sweet damage if you end her combos with either Somersault SMG Spray or Flip Kick SMG Spray. Plus, easy loops off of Somersault.
Viper/Dante/Strider player here in a weird transitive period with his team. I enjoy playing all my characters and the different little synergies that exist between them all keep me enjoying the manic mess that is Marvel 3 (saying that in a good way). I have noticed though that because Strider’s my anchor, I really don’t have a lot of tech with him and my other two characters (Jam Session/Burning Kick) and I’m kinda here wondering if anyone here has any experience with them beyond using them for setups.
I’m especially interested in hearing about any combo extensions that exist with the Burn Kick assist. I feel like there’s some positioning tricks that can be done to get a decent boost in damage from that assist, but nothing’s coming to mind.
EDIT: After some mild experimenting, I have to wonder, is it known that you can call assists while clinging to the wall if you press one of his wall normals while calling the assist? This is the first I’m seeing of this and it already has tons of potential.
