How well are Strider and Firebrand gonna synch with each other? any idea of how Red Arremer’s assists may help Strider?
Hmm… i, just like everybody, is interested on what assiists would work with Strider. However, as i thought about it more, I think it’s like this.
MVC3 has a new thing called “glass cannon”; Phoenix is the first of this type of character in Vanilla MVC3, and no body worried or thought about what assist complemented her the best, because it was always her Dark Phoenix/Glass cannon that mattered. In UMVC3 we have 2 (at the moment) new glass cannons, Strider and Strange (Strange has the same vitality as Strider from what i saw in the videos), so i think they need to be treated and given the “glass cannon” strategy type of strategy (probably different due to no 5 meter bar requirement).
We probably need teams where the other two characters work well with each other no matter who you put first, or an extremely great assist for your point character.
This is just what i think.
Uh… Strange definitely doesn’t have Strider level health. He looks a lot closer to Magneto’s level of health. I think if he has Strider’s health nobody is going to use him because he doesn’t look as overpowered as Strider. His damage output isn’t at Strider’s level (doesn’t have as many combo extending tools), his lvl 3 doesn’t look as powerful as Strider’s 2 lvl 3s and he doesn’t even have an air dash.
Ahhh I can hear it now…the screams of people that get owned by him and start saying “Strider is so OPed. Hes a N00B character.” I say one week before people start saying this man is overpowereed and cry for a rebalance. I heard somebody say hes gonna be the new wesker, fuck that hes gonna be the new PHEONIX. lvl 3 x-factor strider all day everyday, Im getting hype just thinking about it.

Strider Orbs with lvl 3-factor is going to be nuts.
Dude you seriously give people too much credit! Give people half a hour and people will start crying “Orbs are too cheeeeeap! NERF NERF NERF”.
On a more strider related note, what makes ya’ll think striders damage output being high? I’ve seen some vids but haven’t been that impressed. Maybe i missed something?
He might be more akin to zero in the fact that his damage is relatively low but he has a TON of mixup and offensive options.
Ahhhh. That’s cool then. I like playing zero so maybe i’ll play strider when the game comes out. Still, low hp=wary.
This is SRK. People have been crying for buffs and nerfs the moment his reveal hit…

Where is everyone getting Strange = Strider in the field of health from? He shares Magneto’s health. That is a 100k difference AT LEAST, assuming Strider is 750k as (from what I was told) Seth indicated within an interview and not 650k as I have been seeing from the damage he takes from moves whose damage has not yet been changed. I think people are just being caught in the illusion created by everyone seemingly taking more damage as a whole. Which, if you pay attention, probably comes from the fact that these new health bars they had actually are a bit longer than the previous and therefore more bar must disappear for each strike.
Can someone post vids? I want to see some good Strider/Zero/Dante so badly!
Eh. Dante CAN do whatever he wants but I am no longer as big a fan of him as anchor, and with Dante on that team Zero feels uneeded. Add a GTFO assist and become god. Assuming Haggar still works (since for Strider and Dante the Soft Knockdown change doesn’t change shit with all there OTGs) give him Zero’s spot and just learn how to garner respect for your pipe.
Any self respecting man should have people respecting his pipe.
I do have thoughts with Zero being replaced, but i love character. Obviously, Strider is the anchor of the team. He’s a glass cannon and the way to use this new glass cannon is to have a level 3 and a x-factor for him. Zero/Dante is a good duo, Dante’s assist is very reliable and seems reliable for both of them.
Zero is more of the point character who tries prepare the glass cannon for the right time, and dante is the assist and the substitute for zero when things get shitty.
I’m think of Task, X-23, Sent, or Doom if Zero does need to be replaced.
people are sleeping on Doom’s point game a little too much imo. with all the buffs he’s getting while on point I’m not gonna be surprised if people do what Clock’s doing now, which is run Doom first with Strider second.

Doom/strider will most likely be the way to go considering doom’s combo potential and how strider’s assist will help with doom’s combo extension. APA>Legion is also a pretty safe DHC if you need to get doom out. I’m just trying to figure out who’d be the best anchor/assist for strider. ohh it will be fun to be in the lab with meaning once again.
