IF the frame advantage stays, it means Vega has mix up game while standing.

What seperated Vega from the rest of the players was that Cosmic Heel gave him a mix up game while playing footsies.

We have our mix up game back. We can now throw, take advantage of frame traps, initiate a high low mix up game, and not sacrifice momentum or spacing during footsies for going with Cosmic Heel. Just like other opponents don’t give up anything for guessing wrong after they knocked us down we should give up nothing during a well executed Cosmic Heel.

Interesting changes though, mp.RCF is still good so who cares about hp.RCF
lol if there is more frame advantage on block with cr.lp, then it means we can screw with opponents with delayed throws.

hahaha

Ill keep an eye on this. Don’t fail me now Capcom, hopefully they can speed up the game also.

I suspect that mp version RCF will end up -5 on block.

I would say they’re over-buffing the shit out of Vega and that there’s no way a lot of this stuff is staying, but it looks like they want to give crazy buffs to the cast in general. If they DON’T go through with these changes, Vega will be severely underpowered compared to the rest of the cast.

this reminds me of xtekken 1.vega gets generic good stuff more damage compared to sf, that most cast has has by default 2. betas everyone says hes OP 3. TONS of incoming vega 4.the games comes out and people realize most of the cast has higher damage and better mixups 5. barely anyone plays vega but they agree hes good 6. NERF

Vegas been good in like 2 sf betas now. overbuff because hes got some more frametrap a situational invulnerable reversal, he only has meter because all his specials/super suck or are very situational. you could go through 100 vega matches and see ultra landed 5x times total. somebody said izuna loop is op because he got buffs even tho delayed wake up is gonna make that even or more situational pretty sure this might make flip kick better choice in more situiations. what top 14 character doesnt have a crossup, a way to chip, amazing frametraps, and a usable ultra in current build?
theres no solid reason to be afraid of his offense or defense

What was the original CH frame data on block anyway? 0 or -1? It is rather hard to find the old data and my prima guide is not at home atm.

It was - at close range and only + at light maximum range.

I plan to troll online hard with Vega’s red focus all day son.

juri n vega buffs got me kool aid smiling.

It it was -1. Man only 1 frame worese than from his Vanilla/Super iteration

Capcom slowly coming to senses.

Super: -1
AE: -4
v2012: -3
Ultra: -2

it was -4 in ae?!?!?!

Now its being reported super hits on the way up. Not sure what that means for cancels out of rcf and crouching normals

this @kim1234_all_day on twitter hes taking requests for tests i guess chris king asked if that worked

u fucking kidding me, right ???

source?

0 at max range so yeah -4 non meaty.

Never, next thing “they” report is chip damage out of claw normals…

Also: damn it, is it so hard to write the source in your comment? Even if its just a twitter message from some obscure guy written in Kanji?

-1 up close

-1 or -2 work for CH up close. I would say up to +1. +2 is the breaking point because now he gets priority with his low pokes over their fastest moves (seeing as he only has 4f neutral moves). If it were +1 at point blank, he could opt a throw which would beat out and move they did (and because they did a move they would be unable to throw break). At +2, you can expect some very strong, almost bison scissor like rushdown. I don’t hate it per se though.

Super hitting on the way up seems fine, blow a full meter for damage is pretty standard, and it’s not dramatically different from what most characters can do.

Even if it’s +2 it wouldn’t be OP or anything, just good… it’s still got big start-up and will still get wrecked by focus.

Not necessarily OP, but a HUGE departure from his current gameplan. I’m sure capcom is aware of the side effects of that change.

EX Canon Strike got wrekt by Focus Attack too, that didn’t stop Cammy players much.

I sure as hell will have a lot of fun constantly using Comsic Heel to get in then pressuring with c.LP, s.LK and c.MK, all while having the threat of kara-throw after any blocked move with any timing. After one or two-karathrows during your pressure they won’t be so inclined to use Focus, leaving you free to reset pressure with another Cosmic Heel. You will srsly be able to screw with people, this change alone gives Vega crazy rushdown. Nevermind that CH itself makes Vega lean pretty far back during its startup, you’ll probably find yourself avoiding DP and pokes a lot when trying to frame trap with it because it’s long, semi-evasive startup. I already do and CH currently doesn’t give me free frame advantage on block.

Srsly CH will be insane if this change stays:
long startup, shrinks hurtbox
combos on hit
+2 on block
long range, you can reset pressure by doing it again
setups up kara-throw mixups

Ex CS has a total frame count and start up of nothing compared to CH’s 20 billion. It’s not a great comparison in any way.

I dunno. The more I think about it, +2 CH might be ok. I think even CH would be fair, though.

They could still reversal jump or backdash. Or they can play smart and block and tech properly. Unless Vega has super or ultra its not as if he can do omgwtf damage for guessing right
